Wii U Games 2015

Thanks, good to know. Is it easier to hold? Are the buttons more responsive?

Never played a Pikmin...don't really know what it's about. I tend to like fast-paced platformers (both 2D or 3D).

There is a Pikmin 3 demo on eshop, so you might want to try that.

In addition to what was already mentioned, I also recommend Stealth Inc. 2 from eshop.

nope
it was for the first half of the year but slightly shift into the second half
which means we have no clue.
June for Yoshi sounds promising, but we need some half way solid dates (as in month) for almost all announced titles.
I'm kind of expecting the fall line up to consist of Ninties 'hardcore' games. StarFox, Devil's 3rd, XenoX and Zelda. They have to if they want to get those games out this year.

Just bought a Wii U with Smash, WW HD, New SMB World U, ZombiU. Broke now, but looking forward to others.
Good on ya bro. ZombiU is such an underrated gem :)

Side note, anyone know what Suda51 is up to these days, unlikely it's WiiU whatever it is but I'm holding out hope...it's just been quiet. I keep thinking Nintendo still has a few unannounced bombs to drop, maybe a stray project or developer was in need of a little funding and Nintendo swoops in kind of a scenario? Hey, they've started a trend now I expect it all the time lol.

Feb - Kirby: The Rainbow Curse
Mar - Mario Party 10
Mar - Mario vs Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars
May - Splatoon
May - Mario Kart 8 x Animal Crossing DLC Pack No. 2
Jun - Yoshi's Woolly World

Even if Mario Maker was near complete, the first-half is completely saturated with Mario related software. Makes the most business sense to keep a small team polishing it up and releasing it in the second half.

(NA) 2nd Half Speculation
Jul - Project Giant Robot
Sep - Star Fox U
Oct - Xenoblade Chronicles X
Nov - Mario Maker
Nov - The Legend of Zelda U

I think that would cover the first-party release schedule for 2015 Wii U.

April - nothing

i really dont understand how can it be a good business decision to leave a whole month without any release

they could use this time to introduce n64 vc, or new Wii games, or simply slash VC prices in half. But nooo...

If Nintendo had flash sales like PSN that'd be amazing.

Looks about right. Although I can see StarFox and Xenoblade switching months. I still don't believe Project Giant Robot will be its own thing, and if I'm right, maybe Mario Maker releases at that time (late summer).

I wouldn't have either, until NCL highlighted it during their last investor's meeting. Meanwhile Project Guard was absent which may have been the only one absorbed into Star Fox.

You're (plural you, not singular you) always looking at this in isolation. Nintendo isn't just Wii U in isolation or 3DS in isolation. They're both. They have Xenoblade 3D coming in April globally plus Xenoblade X on Wii U is launching in Japan at the end of April. We might get a surprise release of something digital-only (who saw NES Remix coming?). That is always a possibility. Maybe Giant Robot gets dropped on us out of the blue. Or they push the MK8 DLC 2 up into April. Let's judge April when it's over.

Do you not remember last year? If they hadn't purposely delayed Donkey Kong, Mario Kart 8 would have been the lone retail release for the entire first half of the year.

I'm sorry, but this is ridiculous logic. Not every Wii U owner has a 3DS, and not every 3DS owner has a Wii U. Your vehement defense of the corporation is truly baffling. That being said, I expect to see the Smash 4 DLC in April. I'm surprised a Direct hasn't been announced yet.

There is exactly 0 defending of anything going on in that post. There is exactly 100% "wait and see" however. Please figure out the difference and stop throwing that defense bullshit around.

Bought one of those refurb units with Super Mario 3D World from Nintendo and I'm having a great time with it. The console looks brand new as far as I see. Super Mario 3D World is just wonderful! Nintendo Land is alright but I"m a single player guy.

I also bought Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8, DK: Tropical Freeze and Hyrule Warriors. I have just enough coins to get The Wonderful 101 at the Club Nintendo site. I tell ya though..that Gamepad drains so quickly!!!! Love the games so far though!

When is the game of the year going to be released, Mario Maker? Has there been a definite date set yet? Many thanks.

Take this with the required pinch of salt, but a friend of mine who used to work in games journalism said he'd heard the game was set for September/October. Can't back that up in any way, just what I've heard.

so i posted in this topic earlier showing off my digital collection here is the updated version.

This seems about right but I still have a feeling we're going to see a surprise game at E3 that will be released before the end of the year, much like DKC Returns was.

You are right about Devil's Third. I doubt there will be anymore major Wii U surprise releases added to a super-stacked schedule. Barring any unforeseen delays of course.

Animal Crossing for Japan this year, and world wide next year alongside the new 2016 games announced at e3.

Aside from Zelda (and maybe Star Fox), not much else from the future release list that really catches my eye. But then again, the backlog will keep me plenty satisfied for a good while as it is. ;-)

Bought one of those refurb units with Super Mario 3D World from Nintendo and I'm having a great time with it.

*High five!*

Yeah, there's nothing else than The Legend of Zelda to look forward to for me. Besides Splatoon, which is one of my most anticipated titles over all, so I'm fine with that. And then E3 hopefully bring new announcements with it.

what if they delay Zelda U because of development reasons, but announce Zelda TP HD Remaster for Wii U for November, with a meaningful Zelda U demo inside (à la Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Remaster with FFXV demo)?

Good and extensive lineup. I got a lot of games in 2013/ mid 2014 but I think I got too much. Now I have lots to play and I am missing the greats from late 2014 and the early 2015. From the early days I am missing some Lego games, Deus Ex HR and the Batman games. But still missing Hyrule Warriors, Captain Toad and Bayo 1&2.

From 2015 I want Splatoon and Xenoblade X, although that might be too much for me but the HYPE is real.

You're forgetting Wii Fit U's retail release was in Feb. Then again everyone forgot about that game...

Nintendo taking turns with 3DS and Wii U promotion is probably a good thing. They truly do cannibalize each other.

Just look at holidays 2013, when they tried promoting the 2DS w/ Pokemon, then the Wii U with Mario 3D World + Zelda: Link Between Worlds a month later. While software sales were eventually fine, both pieces of hardware did way below expectations since they kept switching b/w the two (2DS/3DS had a great launch in Oct and then suffered through Nov/Dec, and Wii U only picked up in December that year).

They can and should space out the games so they can space out the marketing since Nintendo clearly doesn't seem to be able to do both.

Thus 2015
Jan - Kirby should have been put here imo (like in JP), but Smash, MK8 & Toad generally carried things along
February - New 3DS XL + Majora + Monster Hunter all did really well and were marketed quite a bit, Kirby Rainbow Curse did not do well
March - Nintendo markets the Wii U w/ Mario Party 10, Codename Steam looks like it's going to sell badly

They're competing with themselves and I don't get it when there are free months open. Codename Steam could have released in April w/ Xeno so that they could market it the 3DS again.

Hey Nintendo,

Zelda's not this year. You need to shore up as many games as you can for your console. Bring Fatal Frame 5 over to the West.

K thx bye

I'm going to go ahead and eat my crow. I was adamant Zelda would release this November. It hurts to be wrong. ;(

You win this round, Gonzo.

and we were all expecting a direct in march...

I think a Direct could still happen. If you put the Zelda video announcement in a Direct, it would overshadow every positive thing communicated. I think the non-Direct Splatoon blowout is more indicative of there not being one. That said, we still need details on Yoshi, Giant Robot, amiibos, and DLC for Smash and Mario Kart (plus other stuff I'm blanking on). There could still be a general Direct in the coming weeks. I think Splatoon will get its own in late April/early May.

Actually I always thought a Direct in March was a little early, I'm still expecting it sometime around April 15th.

When is the game of the year going to be released, Mario Maker? Has there been a definite date set yet? Many thanks.

Based on nothing, I think it'll be around September for the 30th anniversary of Super Mario Bros. launch.

As much as I'm looking forward to all of Nintendo's 2015 releases, they were all just supplementary to the one big hitter, Zelda. All my hype for Wii U 2015 is gone. :(

We should get a direct in early April, and your right good move by Nintendo putting the Zelda delay video alone on a Friday, so we can get it out of our systems over a weekend lol.

Then boom next week Nintendo Direct

There's really nothing I'm interested in for the Wii U this year now aside from Splatoon and maybe Yoshi.

What a bummer. :(

so Fatal Frame, its got a chance now, right?

Ninty needs something to fill that new hole in the schedule, they just can't keep it in Japan forever, right? (voice begins to break)Right?
