Good find Foshy.

I think I remember DS2 being like 40k ish, and thats multiplat. So I think this is a huge success already. But maybe someone can find the specifics.

More then 37k for Bloodborne is real nice.

Not bad for Bloodborne. I reckon this game will have legs unlike Battlefield.

More like the opposite. In fact, Battlefield Hardline had a very strong second week hold.

Battlefield 4 second week sales ~ 65,000.

Battlefield Hardline

1st week > 114,000
2nd week > 65,000 (-43%)

Bloodborne > 42,000

BF4 2nd week was 59k, Hardline is higher than that

http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=89390698

So Bloodborne >37k. Could still be quite a bit higher than that but that's the floor.

That is a pretty good start. We had a wide range of estimates on DkS2 from ~30-55k IIRC, even at the high end BB compares well.

DkS2 had a bad second week drop competing against a shitload of new games, BB will hold much better. I reckon theres a decent chance BB is the best selling "Souls" game within a month.

GFK's official PR

‘Battlefield Hardline’ fends off a strong challenge from Sony’s new PS4 exclusive ‘Bloodborne’ to hold on to the No1 spot for a second week.

‘Battlefield 4’ may have had a slightly better launch week, but its successor has a better second week with sales only dropping by 43%. ‘Bloodborne’ misses out on No1 by 22,500 units, almost making it 4 new IP All Formats No1 debuts in the first quarter of the year. ‘Borderlands: The Handsome Collection’ continues the trend of relaunching old-gen titles as deluxe remastered games on PS4 and Xbox One, entering the chart at No3. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (-11%) drops one place to No4 remaining ahead of ‘FIFA 15’ (+0%) which is a non-mover at No5.
Sales of ‘Dying Light’ (-26%) are growing dimmer as it slips 2 places to No6. ‘Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare’ (+43%) and ‘Far Cry 4’ (+233%) both benefit from retailer promotions this week as CoD rises one place to No7 and Far Cry ten places to No8. ‘Minecraft: Xbox Edition’ (+7%) holds on to No9, but the Playstation version (+9%) is not so lucky, dropping out of the Top 10 for the first time since week 7, slipping from No10 to No13. A small price drop gives ‘The Order: 1886’ (+112%) a slight kick, pushing it back into the Top10 at No10. The only other new entry to make the Top 40 this week is ‘Ride’ from PQube and Milestone, debuting at No25 on PS3, PS4 and PC.

Mario Party 10 at 10th. Funny.

...And it seems better than how way too many other Wii U titles performed ranking wise, at least.
FF Type-0 HD...now that's a game with a (possibly) big WOW drop. Battlefield drop is less thna 50%, so pretty good.

Also, this is probably the last week we see MH4U in UK Charts. You did good, my friend.

I think he means that a respectable amount people will be buying this game for the rest of the generation. I don't think its LTD will be more than Hardline but I can imagine more people will be buying Bloodborne in 2018 than people will buy Hardline. Battlefield is a multiplayer-focused yearly franchise and those tend to sell the most in their first year (10 months), after that the sales take a dive thanks to the new iteration its getting compared to a single player frnachise who gets a new game once in the 2 years.
I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

It will soon fall far behind.

Last 6 weeks of 2013 were very strong for Battlefield 4, it sold over 500,000 units.

Before people start saying "AH, WHAT A FLOP!" and before Nirolak comes to shatter those kind of posts away: EA expects Battlefield: Hardline to sell 1/3 of Battlefield 4. So, doing less doesn't mean flopping. Honestly, I have some doubts about its performance outside UK, or better its possibility of reaching that result, but it's better to remember what EA actually expects before starting shitting on it.

Oh yeah, very good debut for Bloodborne on PS4. Higher than 42,000 units is more than what I expected. Pretty happy about it! I recently finished Demon's Souls (and went immediatly to try the NG+), and while I suffered many times, I can now say that I get why the Souls series is loved so much. Loved it.

1. Dylight Light > 55,721 < 72,325
2. Evolve > 51,305 < 64,291
3. The Order > 36,332 (42,000) < 47,284
4. Bloodborne > 42,000 > 47,284

Now we know that The Order sold over 42,000 units.

It didn't say its the fourth best selling new IP though.

I have seen the price drop in a few places last week. You can pick it up for £30 from amazon at the moment.

Well, the PR itself mentions it. Why are people missing that? :p

Not really suprising.
PS4 players had better things to do ---> BLOODBORNE

True, though I'd be surprised if there was that big a fanbase crossover. Seems like they'd appeal to very different demographics.

The drop for FF0 however, that I can see being related to Bloodborne.

Other than that, impressive holds for both the Order and Mario Party. I expected both to be in their way out of the charts by now, not sitting pretty in the top 10.

Order bundled again or was it on offer somewhere?

Great debut for BB, expect to hold the top spot for a at least a couple of weeks.

Handsome Collection doing okay too...

So Bloodborne outsold DkS2 despite being one one platform?

Hmm I'm not sure about that. The way I'm reading it they didn't say that Bloodborne is the #4 best selling new IP this year. In theory it could've sold higher than The Order, it just failed to get #1 this week.

I could be wrong of course.

You're right, sorry for the misunderstanding.

Nice to know that people still care about it enough to pick it up at a discount then. It's definitely not a game you want to purchase at a near extortionate sum of £45 or something.

Handsome Collection doing okay too...

Bit of both. It is in the most popular bundle at game at the moment too (console+ Bloodborne + the order). The last of us is also in a similar bundle too at game so that is why that game saw a jump too.

I just noticed that Rev2 on X1 is already out of the chart.

Wow.

And that's with it generally being cheaper than the PS4 version. Hell, Smyths were selling it for £20 last week.

Really makes me wonder about how well Rise of the Tomb Raider will perform for them, considering that's a similarly Playstatuon associated brand, and also looking at FF0's performance.

Btw Ready at Dawn only has a 100 employees on LinkedIN, compared to lets say Quantic Dream 150, curious to see if the Order sales will warrant a sequel.

Now that has to be worrying for MS. Same price as digital and it still drops out of the charts.

It's really weird how bad some software is doing on X1.

High production values sequel to Ghosts of Sparta would be pretty great.

Never happen though...

Well, it won't happen yet because Sony realistically wouldn't fund two PS4 GoWs back to back.

If Order IP decidedly has no future, I could see RAD having to go back making GoW spinoff games, except this time on PS4 instead of PSP.

Hopefully.

Flawed as it was, the Order is full of potential, especially baring in mind how good RAD have proved they can be with gameplay from their PSP games. Would be a tragedy to have the IP killed off without even giving them a chance to make it right.

I think RADS PSP roots showed in the Order, with small confined spaces etc. From the inception on I could never shake the feeling this is a concept/design they had worked out before it was a PS4 project.

Order has so many good things going for it, I think RAD should be given another shot at the AAA game especially since this was their first big console game. I'm sure they will deliver something better next time and shed those handheld shackles.
