Actually, another kid from another TV show disappeared altogether: Henry from Grounded For Life

According to wikipedia, that's because he and his parents moved out between the fourth and fifth season. He left the show and never came back.

I'm not sure if this entirely counts, because they still acknowledged his existence after he left. He just never appeared on screen again. It was just always, "He's at a friend's house," or something.

What show?

Dude got nuked from orbit after season 1...not even a hint of his existence

This is like the 10th time I've seen someone say that Brendanawicz was only in the first season. He dated Ann for almost all of Season 2.

But then, yes, he's never mentioned in the show again. Ever.

I don't really think he fits, I remember seeing him a ton.

Like I said, he hangs around for the entire series. However, he doesn't really have a day to day role on the show, hence he is a character that could have disappeared forever during the first few seasons, ala Brendanawiscz.

Kya, Tenzin's sister. I can't recall her appearing anywhere in season 4 of Korra. Was there ever an explanation?

The West Wing had several besides Mandy.

Rob Lowe's character was basically never mentioned again after his failed run for Congress, until like the last 2 episodes of the series.

Same for his sort-of girlfriend, Leo's daughter.

And Ainsley Hayes.

Whenever a game uses "middleware," I expect mediocrity. Just see how poor TLOU looks.
Remember the main character from the 2 season sci-fi show V played by Juliette from Lost had a son?

Ted's Sister from How I Met Your Mother was always an odd disappearance to me. In 9 seasons, she was only in 1 episode and mentioned slightly in others. The fact that she ended up moving to New York just made it all the more weird that she never came back.

Given that Barney's brother James is seen and mention quite often, and so are Marshall's brothers seen very often. So almost never seeing Ted's sister is odd consider the previous mentions.

Also, whatever happened to Wendy the Waitress? They never really explained where she went, though did present her last episode as a way of saying it was her last. I can only guess that her hate for Marshall perhaps made her quit (that and meeting her new love interest).

Mandy on The West Wing. Part of the senior staff and just vanished without explanation. Not that anyone watching really cared. Her character was totally superfluous.

Doesn't the entire show start with us seeing her recruited to the White House staff? And I'm pretty sure she was a main cast member in season 1. But even then she barely got any mentions or screen time. I wonder what the deal was there.

Like five characters from the Mindy Project. Her friends and multiple office workers...just gone.

That's what happens to actors who are funnier or prettier than Mindy. The others are only still there because of SAG regulations. But seriously, I felt like I was going crazy when people disappeared with no real mention of why.

Bring her in, pretty much the most important character, with the final season, and then
fucking kill her
. The writers treated her as means to a shitty end. :/

Came in to say this. Glad I'm not the only one who finds it so boggling that the show has only been on for three seasons and so many characters have come in and out, many without a trace or explanation.

Teo, Haru, and the Duke in the second half of Avatar's third season. They ran off to "adventure" AKA do nothing every episode.

HoC Season 3 spoiler
Mendoza literally disappears through an aside lol

In movies, Edward Norton disappears in the third act of Birdman. My absolute biggest issue with that movie.

This pissed me off so much. Her character was absolutely adorable and then that ending......UGH.
They should've just chosen Robin from the beginning rather than wasting everyones time with the build up of a character that didn't even end up mattering in the end. So fucking stupid.

My contribution is Enzo from the Vampire Diaries. Dude went from being an awesome introduced character & plot to being completely useless. Not to mention the more the show goes on the more he fights with his hair dryer and looks like a fucking mess. He had so much potential and now his side arc crap is essentially pointless. He has no reason to be there at all. No one from the main cast really interacts with him much either :(

Greatjon from GOT, where is he??

I thought he was
part of the red wedding bodycount? Otherwise I guess he's home in the umber's city, hopefully passing a law forbidding weddings in the lands he supervises.

I guess it's been long enough that I need some re-reads and re-watches.

Behrooz Araz and President John Keeler in 24. The first was kidnapped by the big bad, the other was shot down and rushed to the hospital, both weren't mentioned again after those incidents. What happened to them? Did they survive? No one knows.

Roy Harper - Arrow

That was amazing.

Which was especially weird considering the plotline from S3 or 4 about Lesley looking for someone to draw up plans for the Pawnee Commons, since she totally got plans for the park from Mark as a parting gift at the end of the second season.

Peter's Irish girlfriend on Heroes.

This, seriously.

Was that the one who he took with him to an apocalyptic future and then just left there? Or am I thinking of something else?

Man, Heroes was just the best show, right? They should make her the bad guy in the Heroes reboot. Out for revenge.

They can't do this, she was left in an alternate future, then said future got undone.

SHE DOESN'T EVEN EXIST ANYMORE.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
Season 2/3 Dana was terrible, I'll give you that, but her interactions with Brody are gold. It's better than Brody completely forgetting that he has a son.

Eh, S1 he still pops up somewhat, and Dana isn't very prominent either.
It's S2\3 when he gets completely and utterly forgotten by the writers.

I feel bad about Xander on Buffy.

It seems like they just him a stand-around character for the last few seasons instead of involving the character Wesley-style on Angel.

I don't think he was really forgotten, he was just meant to be the grounded character on the show. He's also pretty awesome for what he is, so yeah.

Wait, what?

From Saved By The Bell's IMDb page:

"The segments in which Zach remembered his junior high school years were added to the beginning of Good Morning, Miss Bliss (1987) episodes that were re-edited from the Disney Channel as "Saved by the Bell" episodes for syndication."
