Nintendo Direct: new presentation on April 1st

I don't understand people sometimes. If Nintendo blew thier load this direct and had nothing to show at E3 they will be the first to shout at the top of the hills that Nintendo E3 was boring and showed nothing. People are never satisfied.

This was a direct and it delivered.
Exactly. I mean I know Nintendo is damned if they do/damned if they don't but I don't get what people expected out of this being so close to E3 where those same people expect announcement after announcement. For what this was, it was great and we got a good amount of info and peeks at what's coming.

Screaming at that Octodad game. :lol

I might buy the Steam version of Don't Starve, I liked the description of the game and how it looks. Is it any good?

This was MY favorite part of the Nintendo direct:

I don't recall this in the EU version. This EU censorship is getting crazy. Forest Gump reference removed and the lines about being hung upside down in the cupoid removed form the Iwata Asks.

What's a Melee Mode?
It is the SSB equivalent of 200CC.

People keep using that word with video games. Has any video game been impossible to believe? Impressive? Sure. Incredible? IN ALL CAPS? Comon

I had no clue how to feel since the trailer was all intro.
It was just "It exists!"
FE If was the highlight. I hate Lucas.
MK8 DC looked lackluster. Rest was Amiibos.

To be fair we haven't seen the tracks of MK8.
Animal Crossing looks decent though. The different times are cool too, having tracks look different is appealing.

Yoshi looks pretty good to me. I feel it's kinda gotten overlooked I think there were some new gameplay elements like SMW-like climbing. Also, the newer level designs looked good.

I liked the Direct. We got Mewtwo info. Lucas reveal. Mario Kart DLC release early. Splatoon release confirmation. And the first real trailer for what was SMT X FE.

And the other things were nice too. The important thing is that Nintendo still has stuff in the pipeline.

I never claimed that it did.
I didn't even mention Action mode in Chrono Trigger
I didn't even bring Chrono Trigger into the discussion at all.

I'm done with this discussion.

Yeah, I tend to get that when I hit the nail on the head.

The very first thing you did, was claim that xenoblade was an action rpg, because it uses active mode.

Upon being presented with the fact that Xenoblades combat is from the same battle planner as chrono triggers and was extremely similar, you brought up wait mode, as the holy macguffin of salvation, and that not having wait mode, by way of the logic stated by your previous statement, was then the same as being an action rpg.

Which well, Im sure you see what youve implied by now, which is why well, why we are here.

But please, dont let me stop your completely unfounded preconcieved notions from haturbating on the only game in over a decade that brings brilliant and evolved chrono trigger style combat (not to mention a lot of other aspects of chrono trigger) back to the forefront of jrpgs.

I just found it hilarious someone with a chrono trigger avatar routinely craps on a game that is more chrono trigger than its official sequel.

You can now continue depriving yourself from an amazing game thats leadership came from a considerable number of people who were responsible for being a part of what made chrono trigger, chrono trigger, and shows it to the point that it oozes from every pixel.

Those same "morons" launched Code Name STEAM 2 months earlier than the rest of the world.

Sorry, any way you cut it, having a Wii U gap between late May until September is dumb. But hey, if it helps Splatoon sell a few more copies, cool but I really don't think it's going to have the impact they're intending.

Sales of pretty much every Star Fox game post-SF64? I dunno, I don't think any of them have really been considered Triple-A Nintendo games. As a gamer you can disagree, but despite his Smash Bros popularity, Fox isn't a super popular top level Nintendo franchise.
If they build it, he will shine.

Indeed, Codename S.T.E.A.M. is a B-Tier game. At least the 3x speed should be out by PAL release.

Wii U gets a whole one game between March and September (Splatoon). The console once again will be on life support come September.

One new retail game, for Wii U, would have sufficed most I'd reckon. E3 is soon, and people probably hope for multiple new titles there. Remember Nintendo is doing the heavy lifting all by their lonesome for the system so if you believe they're supporting the console still they should have at least a half dozen unannounced titles up their sleeve at this point.

That what I think anyway but 'm not disappointed, just not impressed either.

The Wii U had gaps from January-August 2013 (Lego City and Monster Hunter Port in March)and in 2015 the only game I've seen released is Kirby for NA. That means nothing for the Wii U from Jan-September at least.

...other than Splatoon, you're right

You're not making much sense to me. I know SSB2, but what's a Melee Mode supposed to be?

A Mode that allows players to Wave Dash like they could in Melee and L Cancel like they could in 64/Melee and Dash Dance.

A "Melee Mode" would require a complete rework of the mechanics and physics. That in itself is already a huge amount of work. They would then have to re-balance all the characters around this mode.

I don't think the characters would have to be re-balanced, I think they could just let the players define and resolve the tier list themselves. It's okay if only half the cast is tournament viable or even just 10 characters. I think most Melee players would just be happy to see this happen. They/I couldn't expect anything more. Haha

I like to dream big.

Melee and balance don't fly so well together.

I wouldn't ask for a melee mode, rather an options menu where you could tweek and add mechanics for local play, such as adding in wavedashing, faster jumps, etc.

someone give me cliffs on what happened?
-Mewtwo and Lucas for Smash Bros
-Splatoon and Smash Amiibos
-SMTxFE is alive and anime as fuck YMMV
-Fatal Frame 5 is being localized
-Hurry up and download Super Mario 64 on Eshop
-Mario Kart 8 is F-Zero now
-A lot of indie stuff
-New 3DS Fire Emblem looks awesome

You really find someone annoyed with overly gushy and exaggerated descriptions of a game they haven't played to be impossible or difficult to believe? I suppose it wasn't just this post that spurred my response, but a trend in forum posters using INCREDIBLE for every game they think looks good. I guess it's this generations "AWESOME", and, like awesome before it, has lost all meaning and is often not indicative of something truly awesome or incredible.

ANYHOO, Splatoon is one of my most anticipated games this year. It looks inventive, charming, and fresh.
