I used Remote Play on the Vita a little before, but it was always cumbersome to load up the game for what could be a small amount of time. I eventually took to not using it much, largely because the whole startup and shutdown procedure of PS4 games was too much.

Now, with Suspend / Resume, this feels like a true extension of the PS4!

It makes me want more PS2/PS3 ports, especially RPGs, as there's a lot to be said for playing an hour of RPG combat in bed before your significant other wakes up. This time I'd otherwise just waste on facebook, etc.

Is anyone else finding the Suspend / Resume is making a huge difference to their remote play experience?

Yes, because there is a glitch in Suspend/Resume which allows remote play to access Netflix and few other previously locked softwares. You can set it up by starting netflix, then putting it to sleep, and then starting it up again if you only have vita available.

For games it's great, simply because the starting time.

Yes, because there is a glitch in Suspend/Resume which allows remote play to access Netflix and few other previously locked softwares. You can set it up by starting netflix, then putting it to sleep, and then starting it up again if you only have vita available.

For games it's great, simply because the starting time.

Oh, I use my tablet or phone for Netflix, but I can see that being really useful.

For now no. You can remap physical buttons with Vita accessibility options, but not touch surfaces inside RP.

No but it's not alaways R3/L3, the devs defines a new control set for Vita.
Sometimes it's front-touch, sometimes rear, for Destiny you can run by clicking donw on the dpad, for COD:AW to launch grenades you have two new icons on the screen etc...

Hold down the PS Button and hit "Enter Rest Mode"

1. Tap the Vita's PS button to bring up the 'frame'.
2. Press and hold the PS button on screen to emulate pressing and holding that button on a controller.
3. Then Choose Rest Mode. The PS4 will rest, and you can safely sleep your Vita.

In an ideal world they'd have some way to have the vita sleep mode to trigger the PS4 sleep mode.

I bought a PS4 as a birthday present for my Vita on it's 3rd birthday and still haven't played a game on my TV.

The suspend/resume is just icing on the cake.

Press PS button on Vita, select "ps4's PS button" on screen and either press it longer with finger or press X button longer. You can put PS4 in rest mode from there.

I have a friend that hates Sony with a passion, but I was able to convince him to buy a PS4 so we can play Destiny together (didn't want to play alone on Xbone) He fell in love with Destiny, but wanted to catch up with leveling. I definitely recommend the 'high quality' mode (60fps mode?) on the Vita settings. It made a nice difference to the image quality and performance for me.

And on topic, Vita remote play just keeps getting better now with 60fps and suspending. Just remember to disable that sleep/lowpower mode on the Vita settings people!

I'm also really, really happy with the way Remote Play works now (60fps ftw) and especially in combination with Suspend Resume on PS4.

The only thing I would like now is to have direct access to skip the local detection of a PS4 on the WAN. I have it just on the border of being reachable directly, but the connection is then much worse then when I connect 'over the internet' (which basically means over a different wireless access point). So I switched off the PS4's direct access mode, but it still takes quite a while for it to search for that first, and then switch to searching over the internet.

Was playing Life Is Strange last week but had to leave half way through to go to university, then while there I had a little break between lectures and pulled out my Vita and continued exactly where I left off. Then when I got home I continued from that point I left off on my Vita.

Really amazing feature, especially with a game like Life Is Strange where it doesn't save unless you finish an area which can sometimes be quite a while.

Yeah, the ability to play without worrying about saving is a big win for this type of portability.

The only bummer is that you can't have more than one account on the Vita, and Life is strange is being played on my girlfriend's account. I find it pretty obnoxious that Remote Play is account locked.

No, the good news is the remoteplay defaults were recently changed to have RL3 as top corners on the front screen. You can see the new defaults in Axiom Verge or on the home screen. New games using the default layout will have that layout. Being able to remap the touch positions yourself would be great though.

Netflix isn't available for Vita in Finland. There are also few other apps that are available on PS4.

I used it a couple times with remoteplay just to see well is works. I still haven't had a real chance to use it and I still put my PS4 into rest mode. Yes it's useful but with frequent saves and the autosaving feature it just seems to be a novel way to reduce startup time (for the game) in my case.

First: the games of ps4 look way darker in my vita on remote play even tought the games i have for ps vita are way brighter, is this normal?

When on rest mode, i try to turn on the ps4 but never turns on at the first time, always saying the connection lost, and then they give me an option to "try to conect ps4 by remote play" after i click that the ps4 turns on, what the hell?
