Originally it was going to be PC only then both PC/PS4 then Sony threw them money and they cancelled the PC version and SSM studio stepped in to co-develop.

I didn't know that and I don't remember it being announced for PC ever either.
Are you sure you are not thinking about Tomb Raider?

If the interview Edge had with FromSoft is any true, Sony did not just own the IP, fund the game and help with the technical parts of the game, but the concept and ideas of Bloodborne was also Sonys.

And after all, FromSofts first game ever, Kings Field, was a Playstation exlusive.

I remember something about them asking sony for money instead of Sony approaching them, but maybe I'm confusing it for something else.

Man someone at Sony has a sick imagination if true. The little girl quest broke my heart.

Nintendo and Bayo 2 - Funded a game that was not going to be made
Sony and Bloodborne - Funded a game that was probably going to be made, but also worked on it
Microsoft and Tomb Raider - Bought timed exclusivity to a game that was in development and was already announced multiplat
All of them are different cases.

^So if RoTR fell into the same 'case' as the first 2, would it have been recieved better for being an exclusive?
Personally, I think not, mainly because it is an XBone exclusive and not a PS4 Exclusive.

Brah I accept scalebound being exclusive to the xboxone.

I accept Sunset Overdrive being an exclusive too.

What now?

Then that makes all the uproar and people's reasoning for not getting a game that is a timed exclusive, silly and childish.

Aaahhhhh, but it was originally multiplat, then announced exclusive. Exclusive, not timed exclusive.

Then people started asking questions.

They tried misleading people and it bit them in the ass. No love lost.

too funny!
I thought you were talking about Bloodborn (><)

ya, that was betrayalton, not that I'm dying to play Everybody’s Gone To The Rapture, but still.

The reaction to Rapture becoming an exclusive would have been a lot less hostile if TCR had attempted a Kickstarter instead of dismissing the idea as a waste of time.

There will always be uproars over "betrayaltons" and exclusives.
Personally, I think it's their own business and they should do what they can to attain exclusives, but it's definitely less cool than Nintendo, that have been funding stalled/cancelled projects to gain exclusives.

I found a solution to my PoE performance problems if anyone is interested. I have to turn of MSAA by opening the console and typing in "msaa 0" and the game runs as smooth as butter.

I kinda can understand not wanting to go kickstarter way, but not for indie devs, no. There is no better way for an indie dev have creative freedom and eat that I know of ;)

Good point, I feel the same too, a console needs at least that one game to get a consumer interested in it.

The era of Good Guy Nintendo is going to be a short-lived experiment. Bayonetta 2 bombed (but to be fair, Nintendo couldn't have predicted at the time that the Wii U would be struggling as much as it is) and I'll be surprised if Devil's Third ever hits 500k.

Happy bday Zkylon :D

Dunno about you guys but if a game is Console Exclusive on the PS4, even if it doesn't need Sony to save it from not being made, then GAF rejoices.
If the same would occur but be on the XBone, GAF and the internet are in an uproar.

Corporate suits exchanging briefcases full of money. Afterwards taking credit for saving games.

yep. Sounds like console wars alright.

Isn't it very old problem of Nintendo and why third parties don't want to release their games on Nintendo consoles? (handhleds excluded)
I mean nothing sells on Nintendo consoles for years now, if it's not a Nintendo game. And situation keeps feeding itself, they can't get 3rd parties because of bad sales, they can't get good sales because nobody interested in 3rd parties chooses Nintendo console?
At least that's how it looks to me.
And Bayo2, inspite of how good it is, isn't exactly CoD level of popularity, it can sell some consoles, true, but not in millions and again that's one game on not particularly hot console too.

edited: as I said before, I wish Valve funded Bayo2, just for meltdowns and to see how it would sell with huge userbase.

In a span of less than two weeks both of my HD5870s died. 5+ solid years, they were good to me. Time to make that 970 a priority, even though I'm still rocking a I7 920.

Think I'm already feeling steam withdrawals.

There are a ton of good 2D, and some 3D, games that doesn't tax the built in video card.

My steam's library view has been defaulted to "all games" instead of "installed" since last week, I had to switch it back every time, anyone knows how to fix it?

European Suikoden box art was the same as the japanese one.

That's why US boxart still remains greatest of all time.
I still laugh every time I see it and still can't believe it's real, no joke. Konami is so good in delivering unforgettable things of all kinds, let's remember legendary Konami E3 pc here (><)
