I believe Steamspy collects much more data for numbers than Superdata.

Well not really, especially as steamspy covers just steam sales and uses one data source.

SuperData have a lot more data points that they obtain and analyse.

Just to clarify though, I'm not saying that makes them more accurate. At the end of the da it's still a rough estimate.

Wait, why are people expecting Bloodborne to have anywhere near a 50/50 split between US and "Europe" (aka rest of the world outside Japan) when the install base is stacked in the latter's favor?

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!

'cause Mmurica fuck yeah.

Yeah, BB has higher chances of quite higher sales in Europe than in US

Their goal is cover Steam sales only and apparently they do that very well using Steam Web API

I don't think Superdata has tools to estimate digital sales on console with the same level of accuracy.

Your point was that steamspy collects more data/numbers. But actually SuperData cover a wider market and say they collect more.

As to whether either are accurate is up for debate. But they both use hard data in most of their calculations.

Late prediction ... or?

Late prediction. It's a tradition of mine. I never really participate in the actual predictions until after it closes.

The main reason being that I don't care for anything other than PS4 and One. Its why you never see me in the rankings that donny does.

edit: geez guys I always do this. Come on, I don't have access to NPD!

I figured, it just seemed very coy with no comments attached ;)

Fair enough. I did the same thing in the December and January thread and no one said anything. Maybe I may have mentioned it was a prediction. Can't remember tbh.

*shrugs* Someone predicted for just PS4 and XB1 this time around. Just marked them down as predicting 0 for Wii U and 3DS. That could've been you!

Na it's cool.

Likely outcome
1) Hardline
2) BB
3) Type-0 (heavily skewed in favor of PS4)

Okay, if first place is at least equal, second is exclusive to PS4 and third heavy on PS4 - this should also mean a huge majority of total software sales for PS4 this month.
... but have you seen Tomb Raider!

Last chance for Microsoft to win this gen. Huge, I mean HUGE marketing deal with EA, including exclusive DLC on Star Wars.
Come on, Phil, you can do that.

Hate to break it to you but ...

Microsoft grabbed Tomb Raider marketing from Square Enix while Sony grabbed Star Wars marketing from EA.

Backwards ass gen.

Let's see who'll grab Assassins Creed Victory marketing. With how both line-ups are shaping up, I can see Ubisoft leaning towards Sony and vice versa this year.

I wonder if there will be a SW edition PS4.

I'll be surprised if there won't be, I mean that's like a gargantuan opportunity to sell a few consoles for Sony, with the hype around TFA and all.

Beside the twitter pic (which may or may not be official), MS has a big partnership with Activision and COD in November (traditionally COD releases within the first 2 weeks afaik?).

Battlefront releases on November 17th, and Halo 5 on October 27th.

You really think that MS (but particularly EA) has any interest in having a marketing deal with the 3rd FPS competitor in the same 3-4 week window, when Sony would give it a full push for the whole month?

Not that it's any guarantee at all, but beside the rumors, it also makes the most sense tbh, given that the (likely) calendar might look like:

Oct. 27th: Halo 5 (MS)
Nov. 3rd or 10th: COD Black Opps III (MS)
Nov 17th: Battlefront (Sony?)

Somewhere in that month we'll probably also see Rise of the Tomb Raider (MS) and the new Ass Creed (Sony?).
