The trailer looks sensational, I can't wait to get my hands on this. I also can't believe how good the game looks, it looks even better than Dragon Age. Looks like DICE have done a good job.
wow, at the number of views already on youtube in just a day. Who thinks this will sell better than CoD this year?
Basically it consists of up to 62.2 separate speaker feeds at the theatre rather than conventional cinema speaker systems for 5.1 or 7.1 This provides enhanced ambience in the auditor, both on the horizontal, and especially vertical, e.g. it'll actually sound like rain, or plane/helicopters overhead.Never heard of Dolby Atmos but it sure sounds exciting.
Please leave the splitscreen on PC, too.
So 5 areas, no SP, doesn't seem like a lot...
I'll be playing the old, cancelled version of Star Wars Battlefront III from Free Radical here shortly if anyone wants to swing by

2 maps each planet
2 maps each planet

I don't mind much. If it's 1080p with a flux in fps. Well, as long as it's not constant drops and it only happens during really crazy shit.People whine more about framerate so they'll likely do 900p 60fps and not as pretty. I want 1080p30
Watching now, how/where the hell did you get a playable build?
Is it available for everyone or is there something youre not telling us?
no
"more than two per planet"
can u imagine a game with settings where u can power 2 separate displays and controllers with one pc....
one can only dream
I caved as soon as I turned on my PS4 last night and got that special notification from Sony telling me the preorder is available. Yea they basically said kick in the dough and I was like ok.

Ima be dive bombing into an AT-AT or At-ST with the Falcon every chance I get. I hope we get something like c4 in the game.I'm hoping at the core nature of the game, there is always really crazy shit happening.

All 64 channels are much more versatile and can all be individually mixed, unlike conventional cinema with 5.1 or 7.1 speaker systems that are locally grouped (image shown below for comparison), Atmos is a much more realistic and natural sounding experience.
Small auditorium example...

That's pretty amazing. Why don't games offer 3D audio like those found in the ASMR videos?Holy cow, almost 6 million views for the reveal trailer! :O
That sounds amazing, thanks man.
Looks like BF4 to me to be honest. I can believe it being 1080p but a solid 60fps on consoles will not happen. I think it'll fluctuate between 40-60.
CoD = Crossgen
SWBF= Currentgen only
I doubt they can get more than 1 map out of Hoth, for example.
there will be NPCs fighting also right?

OK and like I was saying, the people I game with, don't play pc games, they play console games, and they definitely don't play halo anymore that's for sure.Actually, it fell off a cliff once it started following what other "modern" shooters were doing. LOL at the "stone age" comment BTW. If anything, FPS have been devolving in the past decade. I'd gladly play games like Quake, UT, Counter-Strike, Halo CE, TF2, etc, over most "modern" shooters.
And yes, I'm pretty sure he means Counter-Strike (so good)
Was a little strange that people automatically assumed one map per world. As others pointed out yesterday, in all the years of shooters, somehow we haven't run out of earth maps.

I see, thanks for the great replyThat's binaural audio, and is only really effective with headphones as its the accurate representation of how your ears translate sound in 3D space, and interpret the position of whatever is being recorded.
This Binaural head below had two microphones. One in each ear, so recordings of a a live performance of a band sound like you're there through headphones.
Sony are supporting this for games on Morpheus.
The issue is the amount of time and effort to record in this way multiple sources and to get accurate results without it sounding poor, especially during mixing in the production stage.
Plus the benefits don't seem that great when the extra effort required for an additional binaural mix will only see benefits from through headphones. Recording and mixing process is quite different... So it just adds to dev time. I can sound fantastic though.
This is what the game will look like on consoles?
Wish publishers would offer some sort of cross buy feature, even if it's just a discount. This definitely seems like the type of game I'll end up getting on PS4 and PC.
So reskinned battlefield nice even down to the voice overs and no sp coop campaign theses guys f$king suck.
CoD = Crossgen
I don't think there was ever a real campaign in Battlefront
Why do I get the feeling this game will be rushed to market like Battlefield 4?
I really hate it when developers do this. Just answer the question, don't try to spin it.Q: are we going to be able to participate in space battles? @Biggzy96
A: You will be able to take to the skies over our planets and dogfight with squadrons of starfighters
