I have a question for you guys.

What will you guys do if you don't meet quiet in the game?
Will you restart it?

Kojima said its very possible to miss her and not acquire her as a character, we don't know how far into the game we pick her up.
It could be around half way through, so would you guys restart the game just so you could see that story branch?

I'd probably just go through the rest and pick her up on my new game plus/big boss run.

Oh and I re watched the quiet trailer and never took into account that at some point in the game we will have to kill her.

Will you be ashamed of your words and deeds?
I will lol.
I'd just find her in NG+ too.

At least the PC crowd is getting in on the action this time. Hopefully, someone smart will be able to mod and squeeze out a quality to the game that brings it as close as possible to that pax 2012 demo. Goodbye transition animations, I barely new ye.

Nah, my first playthrough will be blind without any outside help (hopefully). Then I'll go through from there and replay it to do/see everything else on other playthroughs.

i really wish Konami or someone would clarify the PC price in the UK. It was mentioned that it would cost £60. I am playing it on PS4 but it would suck for PC users in the UK if that was the price

if PW is a template for MGSV, there won't be a NG+. but the question remains, if you were to replay the mission or area where quiet can be found, can you go and get her after you've completed the game? there's a ton of logistical things like this about MGSV that we have no idea about.

If I ever post something in Japanese which I don't understand, please BAN me.

Well it is confirmed that we can replay missions.

Nobody knows but I suspect you can similar to how you could get the tanks and helicopters you missed.

I know the main highlights of MGS have always been cutscenes and story with a more secondary focus on gameplay.

I feel like people who think that haven't really PLAYED Metal Gear. MGS's story just built a reputation for itself and people forget about the gameplay, but in reality MGS's gameplay is better than the story tbh. I've never been bored playing MGS. I can't say the same about most games.

But yeah, I agree with everything else you said. This game will be my life. AND there's MGO and invasions... LORD

Yeah.

I think it will be like PW. You can select to go to Motherbase or to the Mission Select screen. And if you are at Motherbase you will be able to access missions through the iDroid.

I think it'll be more like your helicopter is the mission replay screen similar to GZ's mission select.

Helicopter gets plastered with photographs and documents from missions, so it could pan around them instead of having them on a simple roll.

Since you mentioned it, would this be an indication as to why they decided to release Ground Zeroes as a stand alone? If they are loosing cash then this might recoup some of it? prbly not, huh?

Well Kojima said this: "Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain were originally supposed to be released together, but The Phantom Pain* 's long development time resulted in Kojima splitting the project into two parts to allow players to experience the gameplay of Metal Gear Solid V prior to the full game's release" but yeah you never know

Whatever it is I think that decision came a lot earlier than they admit. They'd never have revealed GZ as a stand alone title if it wasn't going to be available before the main game. Maybe they were thinking of making it free but with no side missions.

I could see this. Its a demo to acclimate and hype people about TPP.

Nearly finished with my MGS1 replay. I have to get the warm temperature PAL card to the computer and then, if memory serves, it's bosses and cutscenes and then done.

I'm really excited to hit MGS2 though. I miss the silencer, first person aiming and dragging bodies around. A lot.

I bet the decision to release GZ as a standalone wasn't even Kojima's, but rather Konami's pathetic attempt at a moneygrab. Makes more sense.

You know there's a silencer in MGS1 for the pistol right? It's in the tank hangar.

Yeah, it makes sense that that The Mission Select screen is like the chopper in GZ. But what if you choose to visit Motherbase. You go around exploring but then you want to do a mission. Would you have to run all the way to a chopper to go into mission select? Using the iDroid to quicky select a mission when you're at Motherbase seems a better idea.

I think you're correct on that one. Kojima intended for GZ to be a part of the TPP but Konami wanted to ship GZ out because they wanted to give something to keep players busy until TPP's release.

Imagine how fucked up the notion is of idolizing your mothers killer.

Even more fucked up is the notion of knowing about Big Boss and Kaz´s affair, and being completely ignored. Poor Ocelot.

Sorry. Just dowloaded the files from the googledrive link and found the BBxKaz folder. That shit made my day. Had seen some before, but... LMAO! Can´t stop laughing.

I demand an BBxOcelot replica now!

Where's that from, because I've only heard that GZ would come first, followed by TPP, which was said in the very first interview for TPP. He's also said it (GZ) was supposed to be released for PS3 or PSP right after PW. And one of his staff talked about how GZ was used as a way to teach the team how to use the engine before moving onto TPP.

I would say it's more likely Kojima used GZ to give himself more time with Konami to make TPP.

Or the Save Intel Operative mission: Having to save Kojima. Why else would he put himself in the game? It can only mean that he needed saving... from Konami.

We can go even deeper: MGS2. Where the Patriots (Konami) are revealed. And forcing the player (Kojima) to follow their orders. Kojima showing the player that he will get the sack 14 years later.

(in YongYea's voice) And then the final nail in the coffin:

what is the main contributing factor that led Big Boss to a dark path compared to Solid

if you think about it, Solid had the tougher life, he was cloned, created for one purpose, to fight, to be a warrior

Big Boss, was the world's greatest soldier..but he chose that..

Solid was trapped by his fate it seemed, and yet he still was a greater man then BB

I'm not seeing it. How do you pull that kind of message out of that recording?

People can find anything if they reach hard enough. Isn't that the foundation of most conspiracy theories?

Snake never idolized anyone the way BB did.

Look at the bullshit that Big Boss went through, what his country put him through during the Snake Eater mission. I'd say you'd probably be pretty disillusioned with government at that point.

Big boss had to kill his mentor. Solid Snake didn't.
