While the idea of a new MediEvil game makes me all giddy, I wonder what the dev team can do to make gameplay fresh and interesting again. I doubt that the tried and true MediEvil formula would work today.

Btw, what are GAF's thoughts on MediEvil 2? I remember it being shat on, back in the day...And I could never understand, loved that game.

MediEvil always felt like a combination of Zelda and Jump 'n' Runs and Action Games.

You collect things, defeat bosses, trade secrets for new weapons and equipment to get further in levels etc. I think it would work wonderful today. I gotta replay MediEvil after 17 years. D: I only played a bit of the PSP Remake

Okay guys, here we go:
- Guerrilla Cambridge is not working on a MediEvil game
- and they haven't heard anything about a new MediEvil game
- they suspect it's fan art of some sort

I don't believe for a second that a new MediEvil game is in development, without Cambridge Studio knowing something about it. Absolutey unlikely.

Case is closed for me.

I think MediEvil reboot/sequel is unlikely to happen as of now, since it isn't really a big mainstream IP with an easily marketable protagonist.

It could happen of course, SCE publishes out-of-the-box non-mainstream games sometimes, but it's probably not a big priority for them.

The leak, real or fake, looks amazing by the way.

#TeamTooCoolToBeReal.
I'm sorry to be out of touch but i see this meme being repeated frequently, can someone please give me some context?

You realize Cambridge is one studio out of MANY including 3rd parties. Very possible it's real and your buddy just wasn't told.

Maybe you wanna CITE those sayings from Cambridge? I have yet to see a statement from them, Shu, or Sony about this game's legitimacy.

Well....let's not count the statement when Shu was wondering where the footage cams from.

This is info from someone you know that works at G.Cambridge?

Shiet... oh well, I must say it was a pretty good and ambitious fake.

Them not knowing anything about it, is absolutely unlikely. So the case is clearly closed for me. Of course you can still believe whatever you want.

Yep. Too bad :/

Is your friend in charge? Why would every person at the studio know about a game being made by a third party studio? And maybe they aren't telling you because they're not supposed to confirm rumors, especially true ones.

It is most likely fake, but I want to believe so bad....

Because MediEvil is their IP and I think they would know if SCE contracted a different studio to work on their old IP.
(See -> Sucker Punch knew about the "Sanzaru" Sly game, Naughty Dog knew about the Jak & Daxter "High Impact Games" game, etc.)

But whatever guys. Go on.

Yeah, I know what you mean ;( I love the franchise.

The problem with free or cheap Unity and Unreal Engine 4 licenses is that we're going to be given lots of impressive fakes going forward. This is a fine example.

Pack it up, the dream is dead :(

Right, I definitely agree some people at the studio would know. Like the bosses and anyone who remains that made the originals (who are probably bosses by now). But they aren't gonna tell every single person at the studio since they want to prevent leaks. And like I said, why would your friend tell you if it's true? Does he always tell you what game he's making?

You could be right but I don't find your friend very convincing. I think you're saying "Guerrilla Cambridge" when you mean "One guy who works at Guerrilla Cambridge".

Looks good. Doesn't make me believe any more or less. I love that model, though.

Whats with the odd angle of the water line in the background of that 3rd new screenshot?

It's an off-screen photo so I think the photo was simply taken at an angle and the wall isn't straight. If you look at where the walkway he's standing on lines up with the wall you can see it's parallel to the horizon.

yeah it´s the wall in the middle that is at an angle.. not the waterline..

Then isn't the position of the character model leaning to far to the left?
