What is the source of this? Is there some secret to get that to appear? It's in the OP with no explanation at all as to its source.

@SwordOrWhip tweeted it.

DKCR rendered DK an Diddy outside of the stage and what you see on the stage is a sprite version of that render.

To specify, I don't think off screen means "in world, out of sight" more that it is rendered, turned into a sprite, then put into the game world.

To give a more solid example, here are the characters in Dolphin, and then following that is the wireframe version.

What you see isn't the actual 3D rendered model, so it has no 3D wireframe.

what was the deal with this game featuring alucard, i remember seeing it and getting all excited, but never followed anything regarding to it.
Iga announced it at a TGS when Lords of Shadow was just Lords of Shadow and not Castlevania

That was literally the only time that game would ever be mentioned

Disappeared into the ether, never to be seen again.

IIRC, it was IGA's next vision for the series, but they took it away and we got LoS instead.

so you are saying that it would be like symphony of the night 2, but we didn't get it because we don't deserve good things.

this also made me think that we won't ever get a game regarding the 1999 battle between julius and dracula

Quoting for new page because it's a wonderful night to help out a friend.

Well, at least this thread will for sure have plenty of reactions, but i think that if you follow the twitter sword or whip, they will probably update what is happening today on the stream.

I wish it'd start a bit earlier. The stream starts at 8pm over here, so if they hold back the Kickstarter until the end, it will be well after 3am around here... Great time for America, but not exactly Europe-friendly at all.

It'd be smarter to start the KS at the same time as the stream, I think. Could have updates going on during the stream.

Same. It's gonna be a loooong wait. Especially since the part we want to see is most likely at the very end.

Konami will announce that they're going to develop a mobile Castlevania titled Castlevania : Demon Castle War 1999 just to spite on Iga. /s

At this point it's more likely we get a drama CD resolving the Maria/Alucard romance plot than an actual 1999 game

lol. It's kind of sad though, sometime ago i was really into the castlevania lore, as "simple" as it is, it's a really cool story in my opinion, and this 1999 game would be the ultimate dracula game if they ever got it right

What do you mean exactly? I mean, they probably won't spend 8 hours talking about shit and shit and then show gameplay for 10 minutes, no?

I think it's a great compromise between EU & US. Though, I can't watch either way because Twitch sucks here with a rather bad connection.

Has Konami literally done anything related to the original timeline since the reboot? I know Cox tried to compare LoS to Ultimate Marvel when trying to appease older school fans who weren't having any of it, but Marvel didn't shelf the original comics when they started Ultimate.

I doubt they'll wait until the end of the stream to announce the kickstarter. They're going to want the stream going while the kickstarter is active so people will donate while watching. Honestly I think the kickstarter will go live right at the start of the stream.

I'd be down for that, personally.

It's very... I don't know, vampire-cliche, but Alucard/Maria was a product of it's time that I was fond of, and I'd like to see it resolved properly, instead of just finding out that 'okay, Alucard didn't turn her into a vampire and he's still alive in the modern era.'

Counting the PS3 version of Harmony of Despair, it came out a year or so after Lords of Shadow (though the original CVHD was before LoS). However, the last non-spinoff title was Order of Ecclesia in 2008.

Well. We already seem to know that they are doing speedruns, that they'll have guests and so on. Wouldn't surprise me if there's a lot of hyping up until they finally show the Kickstarter. It's of course also possible that they'll start the campaign right at the beginning or after an hour or two and use the chance to keep the community engaged in the first couple hours - which, honestly, would be pretty smart too. At least as long as the Kickstarter campaign doesn't bomb, since that would make for quite an awkward situation. :p

Anyway, let's see what that USGamer announcement is about. Maybe that will already clarify things if it's indeed related to this.

What better time for a new Castlevania game, creature of the night.

No, the only games between Ecclesia and LoS are Judgement, Harmony and that Wii one lol

You don't know that, she's a vampire housewife living somewhere in Japan damn it!

The Shroud of the Avatar Kickstarter launched with a live-stream that lasted like 24 hours, with the developers talking about not only plans for the new game but also talking about the older Ultima games and how they were developed and stuff, and holding Q&A's too. And Underworld Ascendant had streams of the developers playing the old games.

So I could see this one being that, announcing the Kickstarter right off the bat, making a big deal about pressing the button that starts it, and then 8 hours of talking about the new game and playing old Castlevanias.

If this kickstarter does happen (I mean, at this point it's pretty much a done deal), Konami better stay the fuck away from it.

With what happened with the superbunnyhop video, I'm sure they would be vile enough to try and take it down at this point.

Maybe the choosing of sword or whip will decide the game's protagonist gameplay.
ALso I HOPE it isn't a MMO or something like that...

As long as it's not called something-vania, it should be fine. Aside from that, Konami doesn't own gothic mansions or Dracula so he could do whatever I suppose.
