Intel i7-5960X, 16GB DDR4 RAM, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Game Ready GeForce GTX Driver

For the complete lowdown on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt you’ll have to stay tuned to GeForce.com for our Graphics, Performance & Tweaking Guide. In the meantime, let us know in the comments which NVIDIA technologies you’ll be utilizing to enhance your The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt PC experience.

Official Nvidia responses so far:

What is GameWorks?

A collection of technologies we offer to developers to make their games look better with minimal work. https://developer.nvidia.com/gameworks-visualfx-overview

Expected FPS?
The idea is 40+ in demanding moments. It isn't the final build, so I don't want to get into specifics.

Game Ready drivers always launch before their associated games ;)

Yes, chart is everything on, no 'max settings without aa' benchmarking silliness here :)

SLI looks perfect to me and scales at 95-99% at 4K, and only slightly lower at 1080p. AA is also working just fine with SLI.

As a note these are settings at which the card stays 40fps+ even in the most demanding scenes. And this wasn't the final build of the game.

Where that 980ti at Nvidia. I want to run this at 1080p with Gameworks but don't feel like forking out for year+ old cards.

I just hope R9 290 / R9 290X is fine for 1080p@uber (~gtx 970)

please dont be unoptimized for AMD, im too lazy to recofigure and reinstall to GTX 970.. (especially with 2 screens and TV)

I don't want to buy new GPU right now Nvidia.

Oh but you will!

Performance is looking good, looking forward to the full guide.
The experience will be enhanced with higher-resolution textures, higher-quality effects, higher levels of detail, uncapped framerates, and many other enhancements

This is in direct contradiction of what CDPR said in the past but I welcome these news.

So where does my 780 Ti fit? Under the 970 right? So high-uber 1080p?

Edit: Why is there 3 different settings for the 960? What does that even mean? Which one is it?

Yeah, somewhere between 960 & 970.

I guess people with mid-end 2gb cards would be fine on medium-high settings if not aiming at 60 fps. I think the 960 can even reach uber settings at 30 fps.

Nice, looks like I'll be able to run it on High at 1080p. Was kind of expecting Medium or even Low.

I'll probably turn things down a bit if that chart isn't for 60FPS, though.

Working hand-in-hand with developer CD Projekt RED, we’ve transformed the protagonist’s hair and beard, the mane of his trusty steed (and the manes of other horses), and the fur of over three dozen monsters into dynamic, highly detailed, fully formed hair and fur

The wording makes it seem like the game doesn't have Hairworks on for ennemies with coats made of fur. So maybe Eatchildren was right.

I'm reading the article but I don't see what fps those setting can produce. I assume (hope) the chart means 60fps.

Oh yeah, 1440P Uber + Hairworks for me!

I'm glad to see it is actually implemented well and doesn't destroy framerates.

I can't wait for Monday to find out what exact combination of settings will afford me an unflinching 60fps with my 5820K/Titan X system. I bet 1440p + Uber + GameWorks will dip well below 60fps during more demanding scenes. We'll see!

It's their GEFORCE Experience settings. These can run at 60 FPS but they aim for "playable" and they've said playable is in the 40-45 range.

It might run better, but you should expect those settings to not be locked 60.

Right now I have an i5 2500k CPU and a GTX570 GPU. Thinking of buying a GTX970 and hope that it will be enough for the game, while keeping the CPU.

I'm not sure. Andy from NVIDIA mentioned that it was just a minimum 40fps in the other thread, I assume it'll be an average of 60fps but he can probably answer you better

Rolling with a 770 4GB with an i7 4790 an 16GB DDR3, guees I should expect a mix of high/uber, I don't mind the framerate going to 40 if it means better visuals.
