Lufia: The Legend Returns isn't included in this sale because it's premium as fuck and putting it on sale would devalue its timeless quality.
;P Or maybe it's just me.
It's probably still new enough to where they wouldn't have put it on sale even if they were doing a sale on VC stuff.

Which it's a shame they aren't. I'd have probably snagged the gameboy Harvest Moons for a couple of bucks.

I just bought

-Cooking Mama 4
-Reel Fishing 3D (Thanks Ultimate Angler...)
-Etrian Odyssey IV (now digital)
-Yumis Odd Odyssey
-Hometown Story
-Harvest Moon A New Beginning

I have such a soft spot for low budget, Japanese games.

does it matter which one I grab out of two towns and new beginning? new to the series, so wondering if the extra 10 dollars is justified for a newbie

A New Beginning is much better and has more to do with it's town building.

Also, I got it wrong about Two Towns. The game wasn't patched, the digital version was launched with all the fixes.

Meanwhile, the US has to wait for Project Mirai DX until SEPTEMBER now. Least it gives me time to save some money up & focus on other games....

*remembers Danganronpa Another Episode is out in Sept. as well* Craaaaap. Well, maybe I'll get super ultra lucky & have someone get it for me as a b-day gift.

The Mirai DX delay works for me since it means I can pre-order it for cheap during E3 lol

I wasn't going to spend $50 on that anyway

Think it's $40.

But yeah, with Splatoon & P&Z out this month, kind of glad for the delay, even if it was announced about a WEEK before its original release.

Rumor: eShop Publishers Are Dropping Releases In Germany Due To Low Sales And Cost Of USK Rating

We should point out that the developer who has tipped us off wishes to remain anonymous, but we can tell you they are a widely-respected member of the Nintendo indie development scene and have already created and released multiple well-received titles on the eShop.
According to our source, over the past months there have been secret European developer meetings to discuss the current state of the eShop. 'Most' indie developers are struggling to sell over 3,000 units in the lifetime of an eShop game, and as a result many are dropping support for Nintendo's consoles. However, this issue isn't just impacting small-scale indie developers - our source claims that larger download publishers are starting to drop Germany because they are not able to recoup the cost of earning a USK rating - a similar situation to what happens in Australia, which sees a reduced number of eShop games due to rating costs.

Not sure what to think of that. The number of games that weren't released in Germany is still quite small, and I can't really see bigger publishers skipping the USK, since it's not THAT expensive. I guess we'll see. Games can be sold on Steam (for example) without USK ratings, so I wonder why it's even necessary?

Sorry for being off-topic, didn't know where to ask my question.

I got a New 3DS XL & Adapter from Canada, but I can't use the charger in Europe as the input is 220v not 110v. What do you suggest NintendoGAF?

BTW I had an older DS chrager (input AC 100-240v | output: DC 5v 500ma) and I used it to charge my New 3DS XL and it seems to be working fine (at a slower rate though), is it dangerous?

The Germany story seems like a smallish local issue compared to this

Without some infos behind that statement it's basically useless.

  • price for game
  • development costs
  • etc.

And I also don't buy the most part. How does that anonymous source know this? Has he contacted more than 50% of all nindies? Nobody outside of Adelman has this kind of information.

Another thing I see as problematic are the ongoing sales. Some titles are constantly reduced in price. How are people supposed to buy your game full price when it's always dirt cheap during a sale? What kind of impression does your customer get? The following: “Oh, I'll just wait and buy it when it's XX % off“.

"secret European developer meetings"

I think it's mostly bullshit too. Of course some titles aren't selling well though, that's true for any platform if your game is bad.

I haven't really seen any discussions between indies devs about this on the super secret developer forums. Of course people bring up USK from time to time, but there hasn't been a central discussion about it. So if there was, it was outside of the place to talk about these things with other devs, which would be odd.

Also, discussing sales figures is against our NDA too, even with other indie devs.

Don't worry, I'm apart of the secret let's ignore Australia group. Population: Everyone. :p

But seriously, I can see why devs are starting to ignore Germany, that rating cost is expensive. I myself, if things for Germany aren't great after 6 months of sales for my game's release, I might start to skip Germany too.

Really hope that new free rating agency is accepted by Nintendo soon. As paying for DL-only ratings is so stupid...

Adelman doesn't know this either since he a) doesn't work for Nintendo anymore and b) worked for NOA and not NOE.

Buy a European charger. Problem solved.

Oh, it's a shmup? I was thinking of the EDF games on PS360 where you fight giant bugs & such.

Also, from what I'm seeing, no, this isn't listed on the ESRB's site. The WII version is, but not the Wii U. Not to mention it seems to be a different publisher. Wii was published by Jaleco, while Wii U seems to be "Hamster Co.".

Hah, it's the other way around for me. I knew about Super EDF from back in the day so I always think of it first when I hear about Sandlot's EDF. This is a pretty nice game. It's got cool music and nice graphics. I owned it back then and still get the urge to play it from time to time. I can recommend it while feeling good about it. Also, this is a curious case of an arcade port from that time that ended up being superior to the original in every aspect.

The Natsume statement was just speculation on their part anyway and never held much weight.
But it's a negative statement and that alone gives it all the necessary weight to be eternal, undying truthyness.

Looking forward to Don't Starve. Played it on the PS4, and was excellent! I'm double dipping, worth the launch price, trust me.
