The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT| Gwent Player, Monster Slayer, EVEN RACISM

Witcher 3 really is a looker. The game itself is utterly gorgeous and the hairworks touches add a lot of really rare, beautiful sights to the game. It can be as simple as someone's hair naturally blowing in the wind, or tassels moving with their owner, or even trees swaying in the wind - it's glorious.
How do I withstand poison gas in the caves? I mean it's random gas abd I blow it up, yet it just comes back

I haven't seen potions or anything for it but signs work well enough. If you're out of combat stamina recharges near-instantly, so Aard or Igni at will. If you're in combat stamina recharges more slowly so get out of the poison gas.

There is a potion that makes you immune to poison. I've had it since around when I started first encountering the gas clouds so should be obtainable fairly early on. Geralt will still make the coughing noises but won't be harmed.

Ah, cool. Go figure.

Alchemy can solve every problem! The Elrics were right.

Is there a way to increase the number of potions you get on each refill?
The 3 bottles of swallow are usually used up way too quick!

There is a decoction that if consumed allows 1 more use of every alchemy item (so bombs as well). Granted this only really benefits an alchemy build since a decoction will get you near to being unable to use potions in builds that ignore it.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Anyone know where the additional Gwent cards can be found? 1.04 added a few extra ones to "the prologue area", which I assume means White Orchid.

My least favourite part of the game is the bugs.

Go on..I felt like it was pretty useless in 2, so I haven't bothered with it yet.

really? quen makes you basically invincible, it's the stronges heal in the game, I agree that it changes the gameplay a lot.

I used Axii on a level 30 Cyclops when I was level 20. The Cyclops didn't even get a chance to attack me as it was my ally the whole time I was beating it down. lol

Quen protects you from getting hit. Axii, you never get hit, or you make the enemies kill each other.

Axii doesn't work on everything, but it carried me through almost everything that I outleveled all the things that can't be Axii'd.

Oh don't worry, I got improved Axii too.

When something hits you while you have your maintained shield up you restore health. Like a lot of health.
Oh shit. Time to dump more points in it.
I really wish the game gave you two quick slots for signs as it encourages you to develop several signs and switching between sign is a bit of a chore.

And yeah, i use Axii way more than I did in W2. It works very well in a lot of situations.

I think I'll eventually respec as I'm not entirely sure all my investments so far were very sound. I guess build guides will emerge over time.

That looks awesome to me. Haven't seem any good ones yet aside from one flying corpse.

Theres a Doctor in Novigrad that you have a mission on. Arrow to the Knee has nothing on Arrow in the Hand. All Mission Long. Should have taken a screenshot, don't know why I wasn't thinking about it.

Anyone know how many Gwent cards are missable? I want to get all trophies in one playthrough. I got all the ones so far in White Orchard from the innkeeper before that gets locked out.

I'm at Velen now did a couple of story quests here as well as several side quests. Does progressing further into the game make certain other Gwent npcs disappear as well? I just don't want to miss any cards. I've beat every town person I've come across so far but I hope none of the ones I'm gonna come back to later (as they have much better decks currently than me) will go?

Is Witcher 1-2 worth going back to Or or they alittle rough these days,I assume there are some mods to help iron out the kinks.

I just finished Act 2 or so into Act 3, I think. That act 2 was amazing, just what I needed to.

Even with my middling settings the character models are so amazing. I just had to laugh at this juxtaposition though.

they are both great RPGs with different concepts than witcher 3
however they both pale compared to the genre defining experience that witcher 3 is

Any place to store items like the chests in TW2? Don't want to sell all my items! Holding on to too many beautiful armor sets!

Also, this game after 30 hours is the most impressive game I've ever played. There are single quests that are better in design/writing than most entire games.

Nope. You can get saddlebags which increase your weight threshold. The biggest I've seen so far gets me to 160.

Weapons and armor are probably the best source of money especially relic ones. If they're below your level or worse than what you got just sell them.

They already patched the PC version so that you can buy those cards you missed; you can do that from the merchant you saved from the Griffin. I'm pretty sure they'll patch it on consoles too.

I'm playing with every merchant as you're doing, and I'm encountering players with decks filled with Legends and cards with crazy bonuses and they're nowhere to be bought. Long story short, NPCs started kicking my ass but I'm still enjoying it.

This game is now 2nd most enjoyed rpg of all time after FF8.

Now if only Gwent cards have a purpose like Triple Triad cards had in FF8..

found it via reddit, could be useful

Is there any way of tracking this in-game or are we supposed to keep track of which merchants we already beat at gwent ourselves?

So in the OP it says you can grow a beard... but I don't like it. Is there a way to make my character clean shaven again?

I don't think the beard grows back... I have changed mine from the default and it's still there

Most of the crazy cards are found in the Gwent side quests. After beating a dozen quest opponents, I have 4 or 5 hero cards in my Northern deck.

The ones with the DLC merchant? Nah, I didn't miss the cards and the merchant has no cards for sale for me so they're not new.

I'm starting to feel kinda lost in the game... I feel like when you hit Velen and start exploring the area, heading west and towards Crow's Perch, there was an avalanche of quests and things to keep you occupied but I've worked through them without really getting many new ones, despite hitting many question marks and other non-marked villages and random houses along the way. When I followed the Baron's quest to Oxenfurt, I thought the journey to and area around the city would fill my journal up with quests but there was pretty much nothing. Maybe a random bandit event here, talking to that goofy troll, a couple of monster contracts, but no avalanche. Now the game is pushing me to go to Novigrad and Skellige but I don't feel ready with so much unexplored land.

Is the main quest going to have me traveling to all the areas I still haven't been to at all, like the very south of the map below Fyke Isle, the southeast (with that massive military camp), east of Oxenfurt and east of Novigrad or should I be exploring them at my leisure?

Also, I know side quests in White Orchard can fail if you leave too early, are there any similar cut-off points in Velen and beyond? I know I heard something about some quests failing if you complete a certain redhead's questline. I went into this game determined not to care about missables since the world is huge and missable parts is how CDPR does things, but missing out on meeting Letho kinda bummed me out.

Crafted 3 pieces of the masterwork ursine set and now my damage resistance against monsters is at 94%. I think something bugged out along the way, because the armor set should give me 70%.
