Bethesda: "Please Stand By" (aka obvious Fallout teaser) [maybe not crossgen]

Which platform will you play Fallout 4 on?

Pentium 4 PC representing! Any Bethesda game not played on a PC makes my gamer soul hurt a little bit. Missing out on mods, people! MODS!!!!!!!!11111ONEONEONE

I meant scrapped gameplay ideas that current-gen couldn't handle.

Dragon Age Inquisition. The original demo showed decisions you make affecting the world state like the outcomes of a battle. Bioware later said they had to cut the features due to last gen not being able to process all of the changes in real time it would take like troop movements

Also my uncle is Todd Howard and he told me that the game is going to come out on the Gamecube first this January but it'll hit the PS2 10 months later. This Reggae Fills Aim guy seems promising so he might have actually landed a timed exclusive for Nintendo.

No word of an Xbox release. Make of that what you will.

it's funny. If someone said "Please don't be ported to console from PC", they'd be castrated. But it's ok to say you're against cross gen....

Either way, it's gonna be good.

The main difference is that porting from PC to console is making a worse/weaker version from a higher quality starting point.

Developing with cross Gen in mind from the start means you get two nerfed products, with one running at a slightly higher resolution on PC.

Cross Gen holds back development and if it's any question just think of how good of a game F4 would be if developed for the original xbox.

Sure apologists will buy it regardless and I'm not saying cross Gen is guaranteed but the amount of people that are totally fine with a cross Gen version of F4 is astonishing.

It's not conjecture that it holds back development, it's straight up fact as anyone that has experience developing software can tell you, yes you can make your software run on old hardware but it will never have the same features that more advanced hardware grants.

I know :( But, at this point Ill take anything. I loved FNV and I think its a way better game than FO3, but I still enjoyed 3 so whatever. Ill take it lol
I agree with you. Just going to miss the great aspects of NV in this. The characters, the writing, wild wasteland...man I'm bumming myself out but I'll still play the fuck out of it.

You guys really want this, huh? No disrespect to Fallout, but all I care for from Bethesda is a Dishonored sequel.

The Fallout games are so much more interesting than the Oblivion games and the shooter gameplay fits the FPV way better than their melee combat. Skyrim was pretty disappointing in terms of loot and combat. Even when Fallout would repeat the same underground caves or vault dungeons, it'd still have at least some interesting backstory to them or have interesting loot inside. I can't say the same for Skyrim's Draugr tombs, ice caves, and dwemer ruins.

GameCube because of dat handle.

I CAN CARRY FALLOUT 4 WHEREVER I WANT!

Pshhh and get it stolen. I can carry even a fat PS2 with me in my backpack. Not to mention it'd sell waaaay more copies on PS2.

Being cross gen wouldn't surprise me for how long the game's been in development... but, I hope it's not cross gen. Would make me a sad panda. Let's see some next-gen (current gen) Fallout!
