Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

Gamers, gamers never change. In 2015 Fallout 4 was revealed. A game people had been asking for for years. As soon as it was revealed, hyperbolic cries of, "It looks no better than PS3 were heard." Then ensued a war the likes the internet has not seen. In the end, most people ended up off the internet entirely. It was a wasteland. But a few people held on and years of desolation one finally popped out to see what the internet had become...

Seriously though, I don't care if the graphics aren't that great. They still look better than 3. All I really want out of Fallout is a new area to explore and new characters to discover/takl to with new dialogue choices to be made. Sure, maybe I'm not picky. But I picked up Fallout 3 in 2013 when it looked pretty dated and after I played SKyrim which definitely was an improvement (not by much though honestly, or at least Fallout didn't look much worse like I expected it to). It didn't hamper my enjoyment one bit. I didn't think it would beat Skyrim for me but I found myself enjoying it a lot more even Despite the even older graphics and more bugs (I played Skyrim after they had patched it up).

Sure, I'd love it if they take cues from Obsidian and improve on gameplay/characterization/dialogue/choices. Honestly I'd much more rather they focus on that. But in the end, I'm sure it's going to be a game I'm going to love. Cause all I really need is that exploration and being able to talk to characters (Obsidian had more characters to talk to as well which made Vegas better for me). Graphics is only something I'll notice at the start. Then my suspension of disbelief will kick in and I'll just take it for granted anyways (regardless if good or bad).

(I'm sure I'd love it more though if Obsidian was the one doing it ;) ).

Amusing the shitstorm that CD Projekt gets if some in game leaves aren't quite as shiny in the end product as in trailers but Bethesda can keep shitting out incompetent Xbox 1 quality graphics (and awful animations to go along with it) and everyone keeps lapping it up

Likely not the same groups. Witcher 3 down grade bitches wouldn't be caught dead playing an ugly title like Fallout.

Or it's to avoid downgrade discussions. This way they start at the bottom and work up rather than the other way around.

Or maybe most people honestly don't care what a title looks like as long as they weren't promised something that was never delivered.

Apart from the graphics looking ... rough, the biggest problem I have with this is that it still looks like Bethesda's theme park version of a post apocalyptic wasteland as opposed to an actual post apocalyptic wasteland.

But whatever. I guess I'll take it.

Another mistake is cutting between pre- and postwar imagery. All that came before is much better left up to the imagination, makes the current circumstances seem a lot more rough, which is what you'd want when you're creating a post apocalyptic setting.

I reckon the prologue of the game will be you as a kid in the pre-war setting, just before the bombs fall.

Either that or it has something to do with that mind store thing in the image with the mysterious stranger looking guy. Pretty much confirmed it's in Boston where the commonwealth/MIT is so there will be very advanced technology.

Looks like Id tech 5 tbh
Pretty environments i guess

Rage looks better in my opinion (only judging from the trailer). Yet the games are entirely different in scope and scale. I still think it will be Idtech6, they will just suit it the scale of the world and its content

Game looks fine. Graphics don't seem mindblowing, but that's okay. Definitely hyped.

I hate to bitch about the graphics but it doesn't look much better than 3 or New Vegas. It's early so I hope they're still working on that. I was expecting something a little more life like this time.

Finally you show your face, evil doppelganger. Fallout 3 and New Vegas look really bad (without a ton of modding). Fallout 4* certainly looks much better than those two games.

*Based on what little we can presume from the trailer.

Indeed, when it comes to budget, they have just as much capability as R* . This is a really an abysmal showing of graphics and tech. The only standouts here are the city density and the new lighting. I can't believe they are still insisting with that garbage animation tech.

Wait. Really? How many copies did TW3 sold?

I believe it's sold a good few million at this point. Don't have time to find the exact figures but at least 2.5 million, at most 5 million (I think the former)

Why the hell didn't they just CG some shots and a trailer that look way better than the game we will eventually get : (
Yeah people are gonna complain no matter what. There's no point in appealing to a small slice of the market. Just make the publisher happy.

Absolutely loved the trailer, it did what a trailer should do and that is whet my appetite. Sure the graphics are a bit "ropey" here and there (that dog looks bloody awful) but fallout has never been about graphics for me.

I am so looking forward to roaming around a post nuclear landscape again. I am probably in a minority here but I want it to be more like Fallout 3 and less like Fallout NV.

They showed travelling high up into the air, so I think it looks "ropey" because they actually have the memory/resources budget to show a long view distance (thats not limited by mountains or other structures) which may include towns without loading screens (limitation of prior consoles - hence prior bethesda games had loads for towns)

I think after ESO, Bethesda resources and industry prestige has been reduced. I'm hoping what people are saying is true about the level of immersion that they hope to be in this game. I can only speak on my gaming with Skyrim and it was less immersive and more open full of nothingness. Great game, especially with mods.

Perhaps he's wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane.
All I'm going to say about the graphics is that while the textures do look somewhat subpar, the overall aesthetic and colors look fantastic, which is a huge updgrade from the dull brown and grey environments of FO3. To everybody that is complaining about the way the game looks, at least Bethesda is not putting out a BS "in-engine" trailer claiming to be real-time game footage. At least there is a great chance that the game will in fact look like this once it comes outnd that the developers are being truthful with us.

Ah, more Fallout. I'm so happy. New Vegas is in my top 5 favorite games ever, and it's been far too long between Fallout games. This looks so good!

I'm not impressed by the graphics but the people saying this looks like a PS3 game need to stop. The hyperbole isn't cute or funny; that's just trolling.

We arent going to get Last of Us Levels of detail but this isnt the same scope of game

ITs going to be massive and have cool shit to find, thousands of stories to uncover and everything else we expect from a Fallout game

Not sure why people expect something beyond what they could realistically deliver

A post apocalyptic world should not have this many bright colors, my only complaint so far, I think it looks awesome. Hopefully the game plays in different periods of the apocalypse, early game will be before shit hits the fan, late game I hope will have a much gritter look to it.

Its better this way

Show the actual game AS IS and get it over with early

Still looks good enough and now we can get the graphics whining out of our system way early

Well Yeah. I really just means that it literally does not matter what they show and what it looks like, people will just bitch.

However, looking at it, I would believe that they had a previous game version on the table at first.

Whatever, I didn't play 3 or NV for the graphics. Just keep the frame rate up and no game crashing bug. That's all I ask

How are you in any position to make that claim?

Biggest E3 event so far, and its not even started yet. Expecting this + june 14th to be the best of E3 for me. (Especially since 2077 isnt going to be shown)
