Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

I think coming into threads like this and spewing shit like "looks like a PS3 game" and "utter trash" and "looks like something on a 3DS" should be greeted with a temporary ban. It's getting way out of hand.

Just my two cents.

There's the eye candy debate and then there's outright bashing.

I don't think it does.

And that's like totally your opinion. And that is alright.

Most people are voicing out their disappointment with the trailer and are hoping for a discussion on what will compensate (gameplay, etc). It would be futile to try to change someone's mind when they already mentally agreed that the game looks bad to them.

While in this thread I feel like there is a bias of those who been waiting patiently for Fallout 4 to drop. Saying a game looks visually poor compared to recent current gen only games does not prevent you from being able to enjoy it when it release.

Man, some of y'all need to remember what Fallout 3/New Vegas looks like.

I'm happy.

Just because a new installment looks better than the previous one doesn't mean it is removed from criticism.

Not really blown away looks wise but considering it looks like they're using gamebyro again I'm not exactly surprised either. I really hope they deliver with whatever gameplay they show at E3.

Yeah, I was also thinking of Gamebryo the entire time. I don't get the idTech comparison ITT, honestly I think it's just wishful thinking.

It's probably another revamp of Gamebryo.

Like the colors though!

I'm really hoping that the house in the first scene being open and having transparent windows is hinting at seamless interiors. The Witcher 3 has been spoiling me on that, and Fallout with it would be FUCKING AMAZING.

I feel like that's a must these days.

I didn't expect this vitriol to the graphic fidelity of the game. Would you guys rather have the same tired bullshot awesome trailers ala Witcher 3/Watch Dogs and then find out it gets visually downgraded upon release, or would you rather see something that looks a lot like something we're getting upon release?

'Cause I'm super fine of what I saw...because it's finally Fallout 4! Fallout 4! Woo!

Damn son, I didn't even consider this but that would indeed be amazing.

It's amazing how people can want a game to happen to badly and when it happens all they can do is complain like wtf. Happened with Uncharted 4, happened with Battlefront, and now this.

Wow this looks like a bad PS3 title...
Will be a great game for sure but seriously, it looks like something you could render optimally on the 3DS...

I wouldn't quite jump to "trash," but this trailer is just the latest wet fart let out of Bethesda. Everything good about it is lifted from a game that is very nearly 20 years old. Everything else in there is vapid, "open-world" jank with bad animations, passable graphics, and replacement-level generic fantasy music inexplicably playing over it.

It's a Bethesda game and has been known (by 99% at least) to be a Bethesda game for a long time. What are you doing in the thread?

To the people telling me to go away, you guys are going to burn yourself yet again on that hype train. There's going to be game breaking bugs and bull that usually follows Bethesda games like a plague

Apparently people forgot Bethesda have never been known for their games graphics? Their games always look pretty bad graphically when compared to what releases near the same time. This easily looks better than their last game.

Also, finally some actually color in a Fallout game is nice.

I think we should temper expectations considering how much trouble the big guys have had trying to deliver beautiful games

Anyone who isn't Naughty Dog has fucked it up in one way or another. Maybe it will pay off for Bethesda to be conservative for once

And it honestly doesn't look BAD. Its just not to the bar thats been set by other games already. As far as its OPEN WORLD competition goes it falls in line nicely

couldn't disagree more

GTA V, Witcher 3, Infamous, Batman, Shadow of Mordor, they all look a million times better than this

Definitely on my to-buy list. So it's Boston, then?

I thought it was interesting how they shifted back and forth with the time in the trailer, and I liked how the initial song sounded (at first) like the one from 3. It'll be great to see what they do with this one, but it should be good.

That dog could use some HairWorks. Honestly this is the worst looking open world game on current generation, I can see why people are disappointed. You have games like Dying Light for example, this is pretty underwhelming next to that even. Bethesda makes games on the cheap side, relatively, they never spent a fortune on any of their RPGs, it's a plus for them. They don't do performance capture, or having several voice actors or spend money making cutscenes, there has always been little artwork variety too with a lot of repetitive assets but the end results turned out better than what you would expect.

It's really unfair to compare its graphics to linear games. For what I am expecting in scope, it looks pretty decent to me.

Pretty good trailer and the environments look nice. I like that they're going for a more colourful look this time around with the game.

I'm hoping that trailer implies a voiced protagonist

I kind of want a silent protag only because I don't need someone talking all the time while I'm out exploring the wastes. It's nice to get lost in your own thoughts while wandering in an empty wasteland.

Gonna catch flack for this, but I don't like what I'm seeing here.

It plays the Fallout buzzwords too straight (1960s/retro, nukes, pre-war and post-war). I'm not interested in the cheery "period piece" pre-war days. The trailer plays up the fact that nukes hit and nobody expected them, but this is the 4th game in the series, we should be way past this by now.

Bethesda can't make interesting games anymore. I couldn't care less about the events of Fallout 3, with that nebulous and uninteresting water purification system, and this looks (at the moment) just as uninspired.

Playing it safe in both content and tech. Meh. I wish Obsidian was making this.

edit: I'm obviously making assumptions based on the trailer. I'll be happy if they turn out to be wrong, but I've learned to be cautious.

I generally don't care about graphics that much, but in 2015 I expect a little more

cmon look at the hairs, MGS 3 had better hairs than that

Come on...it's open world, now with (seemingly) real-time airships and has more tall buildings that you (most probably) can enter.

I'm not really the biggest fan of Bethesda games, but even I can see where the improvements were made.

Trailer didn't really do much for me, tbh, coming off of Witcher 3, based on the admittedly brief snippit shown, the world looks to have that Bethesda feel to it, which for me has been toppled by the aforementioned game. Also hoping the protagonist isn't voiced.

I honestly like Bethesda's art style. I'd actually be annoyed if they changed it entirely so I'm kinda happy it still retains that feel (even if the graphics aren't as impressive as some games). Witcher 3 doesn't really impress me either (the skin on the characters are too plasticky, especially if they get wet. Honestly, I prefer the skin textures they use on the old Fallout to Witcher 3, the skin looks so much like plastic on the characters). In the end, I don't really care, they're good enough that graphics is going to take background to the fact that I'm loving the game (I'm also really enjoying Witcher but I'll say GTA V's graphics impress me more than Witcher, a cross gen game).

And I agree with you about the protoganist being voiced, but I am suspecting that rumor is true seeing as the voice over isn't Ron Perlman (boooo) and I bet that is supposed to be your character (what about us playing female characters? That's going to really suck if the intro is voiced over by the suppsoed character cause they'll have to pick one voice so if I have a different one that is going to be a bit jarring).

I like what I saw.

I'm actually impressed that the big reveal trailer was done in-engine, and not some pre-rendered CG like developers seem to often do.

Todd Howard had hinted at this last year. I recall an interview where he said he missed game reveals where they just up and show the game, as it's going to look, rather than the long teaser / announcement process.

Looks wonderful and instantly catapults up to the top of my anticipated releases.

Visually it's looks great, I really don't get the complaints.

Just thought also, considering that this wont probably be too taxing in the graphical department. It's a shoe in for running smooth on VR.

Anyone who says this looks like a ps360 game is deluded. It may not look as pretty as some other current gen games but you guys are seriously jaded.

or just trolling
