Rage looks better in my opinion (only judging from the trailer). Yet the games are entirely different in scope and scale. I still think it will be Idtech6, they will just suit it the scale of the world and its content

I loved rage, so sad they didnt sell well. They mentioned RPG elements worked so well that they would expand on them in a sequel.

Like, devs can't win. If they set realistic expectations, it's not good enough and the graphics are bad. If they put out a bullshot trailer, they get flak when the game doesn't live up to it.

I'm not saying these graphics are mind blowing or comparable to something like The Order, but I don't see how anyone can say they're bad unless they had super unreasonable expectations.

I didn't mention "downgrades", I just voiced my opinion that the graphics are surprisingly bad. I mean, they really don't look that good to me. I'm not whinging or anything, but the quality of the graphics are one of the main takeaways from this trailer. And they're not good.

I'm not worried about graphics. Looks good enough for me and mods can fix it to an extent. I'm worried about writing, quests, voice acting.

And i wonder if bethesda figured a way to make money with mods...

Frame rate issues mainly, super long loading times, occasional crashing. This is mainly on PS4 though, I've heard loading times and stuff are a lot better on PC.

There is a difference between developers over promising and under delivering versus just not bringing a good looking game--visually. If this is realistic as in this is what we should expect then this falls below most consumers level of expectation when it comes to a good looking game (THAT IS ONLY CURRENT GEN).

Coming from Witcher 3 you can't possibly think Fallout 4 looks anything other than OK.

After playing on near max settings, I honestly think some parts of the trailer look better than Witcher 3.

Whatever, I didn't play 3 or NV for the graphics. Just keep the frame rate up and no game crashing bug. That's all I ask

Well lets just think about how long ago and WHEN this game was started into its development

Much like GTA5 this was likely made BEFORE the ambition of Next Gen could be fully realized ( AND HAS YEST TO BE REALIZED)

I think the game looks fine, but I have to agree, why do so many games get animals so wrong? I remember seeing the dogs in TLOU, everything looks amazing, but the dogs looked horrible. Same in so many games, even Witcher 3 unless you turn on hairworks to obscure the shitty polygon models.

We arent going to get Last of Us Levels of detail but this isnt the same scope of game

ITs going to be massive and have cool shit to find, thousands of stories to uncover and everything else we expect from a Fallout game

I said that was not my biggest problem. Of course this is not achieving similar detail as TLOU. It's a problem of tone. Like in FO1, pipboy was a part of propaganda diegetic to the world of FO1. Not the style the actual FO1 world was depicted in. Not really digging this artstyle.

I would have assumed they're building it on the RAGE engine if it wasn't for the fact that RAGE excels at high texel fidelity and the texel fidelity here is, well... non-existent.
