Fallout 4 Officially Revealed for PC, Xbox One, PS4 [Reddit Rumor = Ban]

Its an open-world game, it's bethesda, this game will have mods, I just hope paid mods don't become a thing...

I am hyped, but scared of this paid mod thing...

So much this.

It's not exactly hard. Crysis 1 did it to a fucking art form in 2007.

Show off bleeding edge graphics. Before launch show off console versions.

Release with bleeding edge graphics on PC and console versions.

Nobody complains.

Looks good, but this trailer feels like they are trying to sell us on fallout 3 all over again. The music, the vault-dweller, the nuclear war pitch. Its standard fare the franchise but they unveil it as if it was something new and exciting.

I dont care about all this graphics talk, the best times I had in a game were the disccoveries I made along the way roaming the wasteland in fallout 3.

If its on par with skyrim, I really dont care. People that wont buy the game for graphics sake will miss out, meanwhile I will be deciding if I shouuld kill a cannibal father that kills innocents to feed his kids or a mom that is letting them slowly starve.

Believe me, these kind of stories will be there.

Well the graphics are kinda shit and the post-apocalyptic setting can be considered almost generic at this point... but if the writing and quest design are fantastic it won't matter in the slightest. I hope they really knock it out of the park.

Looks amazing, but I am quite the Fallout 3/NV fanboy, my favorite games of last gen by far. I reallllly hope this comes out this year! At least the Witcher 3 is scratching that style RPG enough for now.

I honestly hope more games take the low graphic approach. It'll be healthier for the industry in the long term. I'd rather they spend the resources making a more detailed world.

Absolutely. A really good point.

I'm fine with the game's final graphics looking like they do in this trailer if that means the world is bigger and denser, if it runs smoother, and if the gameplay is better.

All those things are more important.

It's a betheseda game, of course it isn't going to look impressive.
But I think it still looks pretty good considering.

But like others said I thought Skyrim was a decent looking game on PC and this looks even worse but its Fallout none the less

This was one of my favorite franchises from last gen, so I'm really looking forward to a new FallOut.

Graphics are only part of the equation but it looks good enough for me, hoping for appropriate improvements in animation, quest design, performance, and gameplay to make this the best game it can be.

To the people telling me to go away, you guys are going to burn yourself yet again on that hype train. There's going to be game breaking bugs and bull that usually follows Bethesda games like a plague

I don't care about the graphics, I just don't like that it means we're going to get the usual glitchfest again.

Find me one single open-world RPG that isn't buggy. You can't. It's unfair to lay that at Bethesda's, or Obsidian's feet.

I am getting physically angry at some of the posts in this thread. Graphics complaints are the new console wars, and it is ruining discussions about games.

Not sure if it was mentioned, but the Polish shop linked to preorder the game shows 30.11.2015 as the release date

We'll see :)

I will be extremely happy if this is a 2015 game, but even so that 11/30 date is doubtful because a) it's a Monday and b) that's the Monday after the largest shopping day in the U.S., Black Friday. If you want to move a lot of copies during the holidays, and in November in particular, you typically release prior to that.

Looks like Gamebryo and shitty animations again. No real surprise but I was hoping it would look modern this time. Environments look good as always, but that animation...

I agree the game looks average at most, but I don't think being a graphical showcase is the point here. If it runs smoothly (IT SHOULD) and has a good field depth it will be great.

Unless they are showing a pre-alpha or something to avoid the downgrade argument, of course.

Finally, some one here gets it.

I never thought I'd see the day I'd be arguing that people worry too much about graphics (cause graphics are important to me and I usually dislike people arguing that you shouldn't care about graphics. But honestly, there's a point where they are good enough and other features of the game are more important anyways). If you don't like the graphics in 4, why did you even enjoy 3/New Vegas? People bitching the games looked bad even then? Why are you even excited for Fallout then if even then those graphics annoyed you? If they were that bad that they ruined the game for you, why are you even caring about a new Fallout? Obviously you saw something you liked about the game. ANd if not, why are you on a thread about Fallout? Go enjoy the games you do like.

THEY DID IT!

They made an open world game that looks almost believable. Love the look of the town especially and totally got Skyrim vides following the dog.

Just please make it run the same on both consoles and ill be the happiest camper. Hope ill have a PC that can run it by then.

Release date at E3? November maybe???

pretty sure you can max this out on a gtx480, no worries

Okay, I understand the complaints on the graphics but just watch the trailer and look at the setting, and the mood of some areas presented. They got it right, regardless. Sure, it could look better, but the atmosphere is going to pull you in more than the graphics will.

I don't know. I think maybe the problem is that The Witcher has shown you can have mind-numbing depth and scope AND class leading visuals.

Are Bethesda smaller than CDPR?

Look, its fine to criticize the visuals. Just PLEASE don't pass on the game cause of them. You'll more than likely be doing yourself a diservice.

SERIOUSLY

If all you care about are graphics then go play Crysis.

oooor another current open world RPG like witcher 3, which will be ancient when fallout 4 releases

crysis actually has more innovative and interesting gameplay than pretty much 90% of all shooters released after it

couldn't disagree more

GTA V, Witcher 3, Infamous, Batman, Shadow of Mordor, they all look a million times better than this

HYPERBOLE AT ITS FINEST

GTAV - You kidding me with this one? This game is a polished up last gen game. If anything it looks about the same as Fallout4 at best.

Witcher 3 - It has its own share of great looking areas and not so great. Open world detail is a bitch but yes overall its a damn fine looking open world game

Shadow of Mordor - Gonna need help comparing it to this one. Is it REALLY open world?

Infamous - The only one I can agree with you on. Imfamous was a damn pretty game all around

I've got mixed feeling about Gamebryo or similar engines for this game. On one hand it'll look and feel janky as hell just like every Bethesda game, but on the other extensive mod support is guaranteed and transitioning to a new engine won't guarantee that.

What they're not telling you is that the gimped graphics allow them to make it run well on Morpheus and Occulus.

A man can dream.

Considering how Fallout 3, New Vegas and Skyrim were breaking records in sales, with all the money bethesda have, they could easily just get a new engine built.

Instead it's gamebyro for 5 more years.

At least it's more Fallout, I love fallout.

Bethesda are wastemen forreal, inferior engines and quest design

Still their games end up being pretty addicting

I see colors, and that was my single biggest concern. Graphics are okay-ish. At least it looked like a world I want to explore, Fallout 3 (haven't gotten very far in NV) was just depressing. I love color, and beautiful landscapes. I also like swords/medieval weapons better than guns.

Kind of the opposite of what I was hoping for:

-Still using modified Gamebryo.

-World looks exactly like Fallout 3, typical brown scummy wasteland.

-Story looks like it still centers around, or at least strongly emphasizes, BoS and Enclave.

I'll still buy the game and enjoy it, but this was Bethesda's opportunity to say "look at how mind-blowingly different next gen is for us" and instead they said "here's an incrementally better Fallout 3."

I am getting physically angry at some of the posts in this thread. Graphics complaints are the new console wars, and it is ruining discussions about games.
Honestly Fallout 3/NV weren't that great looking last gen as well.
Seems silly to expect the 4th game to be amazing looking.
