Gaming podcast that deserve more love.

I'm a big podcast fan. You can listen to them while cleaning, working out, gridan, and so on.

We all know about the big and long-running podcast such as Giant Bomb, PlayerOne Podcast, 8-4, Idle Thumbs, Rebel FM, CAGcast and such.

But name some gaming podcast that need more love.

Recently, I've gotten into the USGamer podcast from the USGamer crew. I like that it's a bit different--they cover topics surrounding gaming such as sports and comics.

It's also the perfect length. While super long podcast can be fun, they only work when they have good chemistry like Giant Bomb.

I also listen to some retro based podcasts--Back in my Play and the venerable and long running Retronauts.

Any decent up and coming podcasts?

I kinda like GameFace with Marcus Beer and Shane Satterfield, also Giant Beastcast; and Kinda Funny Gamescast. They're all good and offer decent conversation of varied topics.

It's basically a URL away from being another Giant Bomb sister-podcast, but Hashtag-Team-GFB radio is alright. It's basically Dave Lang and Darryl Wisner (of game development/contractor studio Iron Galaxy) talking about game development, business development, travel stories, Midway Chicago stories, etc for an hour a week.

Also their AXE OF THE BLOOD GOD podcast for Kat's famed gentle leading of RPG convos and spiritual successor to Active Time Babble and Role Player's Realm shows.

The Crate & Crowbar! Fantastic British podcast that is PC-centric. I like to roll with:

Giantbomb for my weekly general gaming often console focused discussion

8-4 for nintendo/japanese centric discussion/perspective, very awesome

Crate & Crowbar for PC centric discussion and again, since everyone is british, a ncie change of perspective.

Really between these 3 podcasts, I really get everything I want, and none of them have anyone I want to kill. I listen to a few others, but they are often to fill out my week after I've listened to these 3.

tried to listen to usgamer's first podcast. men.

8-4 play i recommend. dlc is also great except the other person on the podcast always get so negative and jaded.

You do have to donate $1 or more to help support the site's costs, but the podcast is consistently great. Heck, I even make an appearance on one.

Came here to recommend this. A really good podcast, full of positive energy.

Yep. GameTrailers really transformed itself over the last year and a half and found their voice, and it was great. GT Time is what I'll listen to, to escape cynicism and negativity, which can sometimes be easy to fall into with this hobby. They are just good people, and it's super positive energy.

The Scorecast - Foreigners in Japan. Company founded by a foreigner. They always have a guest who is also in the industry and is a foreigner. It is amazing

Super Marcato Bros. Videogame Music Podcast - The best podcast for videogame music

They also might be my top 2 podcasts that are on a more regular release basis.
On a side note we have a thread for the Scorecast so please join in if you are listening. I just found the thread a week or so ago.
I will be making weekly Super Marcato Bros threads because I really think people should listen to this and we have plenty of GAFers who love videogame music.

The Chuck Norris of Peace
Retronauts, From Us to You, Axe of the Blood God, Radio Free Nintendo, Game Life, The Player One Podcast and 8-4 Play are the best ones imo. Especially those first three that are all USGamer-based, need more love.

Laser Time podcast have been a favorite of mine lately. They have a video game podcast called Vidjya Game Apocalypse where they do a quick top five list centered around a topic followed by news and listener feedback. The premise is sometimes just an excuse to talk about whatever they want or ties into some current thing going on in the news. Very easy to put on an older episode to listen to.

The group consist of ex games radar staff and their friends. They all play off each other as regular friends who have known each other for while and that makes the show entertaining. Very funny and has become a must listen to every week.

Also really enjoy No More Whoppers

And while I want to listen to usgamer I find it so boring.

I second USgamer, also I listen to Retronauts.

Nintendo World Report

I'm trying out some new ones lately but nothing that I think I would recommend.

US Gamer "From US to You" is it's own worst enemy for self promoting.

Here is the US Gamer site. Where is the average person supposed to find the podcast? It's their own fault if they have a small listenership (I am a listener). It's a joke

I used to love nwr. Haven't listened in years though.

Player one always could use some love. Been listening to them since I was like... 17? Now have a college degree and been working on the real world for a couple years. Time flies

Radio Free Nintendo I mean... but yeah.
I only just started listening again after not listening to RFN for many years now

Is the Player One Podcast too big to deserve more love? It's honestly turned into my favorite gaming podcast over the past three or four months.

Surprised it took so long to see this. These 4 have the best chemistry in the business (even more than giantbomb)

I like them but the sound quality doesn't seem as good as some of the other podcasts and when they start talking about comics and stuff I just fast forward but yeah, is well worth a listen.

I actually have too many gaming podcasts, barely have time in the week to listen to them.

So awesome seeing two people already suggest it on the front page, but yes: Kinda Funny Gamescast for SURE.

Yup. Here: http://caneandrinse.com/

The format is basically: they take one game per podcast and dig deep into it. That premise makes them pretty unique in the gaming podcast landscape, and they pull it off really well, mostly. Even if it can get a little dry sometimes, it's always interesting.

I'm sold. Thank you to those who brought it up in this thread. Definitely some episodes that I'm a very interested in.

I'm listening through the old 1up podcasts. I've been a fan of GFW Radio since maybe a year after it started (also a year before it ended...) but haven't listened to the others. Currently going through Legendary Thread and watching the 1UP Show.

As for gaming podcasts that are still active I listen to Gamers With Jobs and Isometric.

I recommend A Bunch of Dads which is gaming in the way that the dads are gamers. Great even for me (no plans for kids ever).
