What's the point of even getting the Skellige armor at that level? I mean before the expansions come out I can't imagine you have any real opportunities to even use it at that point?

I've got the exact same problem as you. There's no key on any of the bodies of the bandits that were around his cage.

There weren't even bandits there for me. I've noticed some weird event triggers in this game where sometimes I'll come to a spot like a guarded treasure or whatever and there won't be any enemies there. I'll have to leave and come back a few times to get them to pop up. Same thing with trying to talk to people like merchants and the prompt to talk to them won't appear.

This game is so so beautiful. The last hour or so I just walked around in the forests while overburned. The atmosphere...

Really is amazing. Feels alive. Been playing since day 1 and I am still constantly wowed by the atmosphere, vistas, and shear beauty of this game.

If Gwent cards are an indicator, Philippa Eilhart is the one.

But to me personally Yen or even Triss seem more powerful.

I would assume Philippa is the most powerful since she was leader of the lodge, and Radovid considered her the most dangerous of all the Sorceresses. She is also the only AI companion in the game that actually kills enemies without Geralt's help.

In regards to Triss and Yen, I can only go by what was shown in game. Which leads me to believe that Triss is more powerful. We only ever see Yen open portals and use defensive spells, yet we see Triss kill

Nah, man, attack power alone isn't everything. Yen has the best sorceress card and since she's the only one to actually have an ability, that implies that she's the most versatile and skilled sorceress.

It's true, Gwent is canon.

Triss is the one throwing fireballs because what Yen does is far more difficult? Even Geralt can do stuff with fire. Plus, in another scene, Triss damn near passes out from killing a dude.

In my exciting Witcher adventure for the day, I haven't had too many problems with the game/framerate on the PS4, but I did accidentally manage to create the perfect storm of disaster re: in-game effects. It was a rainy day on an island in the middle of the ocean, I happened to reapply Quen as a Noonwraith died whilst it was in a Yrden sign. The PS4 went I'm not getting paid enough to deal with this shit, and the frame rate immediately dropped to about one frame per four seconds. (I counted.) I watched in horrified awe and fascination as the Quen light and the rain moved in glacial pace around Geralt in a magical fairy light slideshow. Even alcohol couldn't have even made it better.

It would have been beautiful if it didn't get stuck like that. I had to restart the bloody fight again.

The poor, poor PS4 really doesn't like dealing with rain. I won't do that to you again, baby, I promise.

I see, Yen's sphere was impressive but I do wish they would have shown off more of her power. Still, Triss will always be better in my head canon.

You can play every quest to every level, it's just a guideline. It's just going to be a harder than average quest.

Finished the game after 129 hours on Death march, and absolutely loved every minute of it!
One of the best games I have played period. Played it on pc (gtx 970, i5-4670k, 16gb ram, SSD)
I got one of the good endings and I am happy with how things turned out after playing all 3 games.
The quests and writing are some of the best in any rpgs I have ever played, not since vampire bloodlines have I been so invested in characters and dialogue.
I had a great time with the combat, I love playing a agile bad ass where 1-3 hits would kill me if not paying attention.

A few minor cons:
Loved the difficulty until lvl 11-13, but after that it became a bit to easy even on DM.
The interface is cumbersome in a few areas, like crafting, shopping, consumables and quest/book items.

Its kinda crazy that after 129 hours all I want to do is start a new game, but I am gonna try to hold out for the rumored new game plus.

I feel ya on this definitely. I'm not even done but I just keep thinking about running a new game with different armor / build / haircut / girlfriend. Probably will wait for the DLC to launch once I finish the game and then do another run. I could just slowly gallop around in this game FOREVER.

The last time I felt so motivated to explore for the sake of it was probably Morrowind, no joke. I guess it's what happens when you put faith in the developers to cram every inch of the world with detail and little implicitly told stories.

I don't mind being overleveled, the leveling and scaling of items is kind of weird anyway in this game so if some parts are easier because it that doesn't bother me, I started using it when the XP bug was a thing and just kept using it since.

You can purchase quite a few cards, with a lot of them being quite helpful, just doing the gwent quests will give you some very strong cards.
If your deck is lacking you might want to play some vendors as most of them will play and have pretty bad decks, the first time you beat anyone at gwent that isn't a specific quest you get a random card, some much better than others.
The main problem people seem to have is they have a bad deck, just buy every card you see, play as many vendors you can, bang your head against some of the stronger, quest related, people if you like, you will probably eventually win.
In regards to actually winning, with a bad deck a good strategy is to bait as many good cards out of your opponent as you can in the first round, concede that round and win the next two.
Eventually you will get a deck that has so many good cards you really have to try to lose.
A lot of the people you will play will have a deck that seems unfair compared to what you have early in the game but just keep trying and eventually you will be actively messing with them to make the game more interesting.
Also, spy cards and decoy are your friend. You can use decoy on any card that isn't a champion, so even if you don't have any spy cards you can use decoy on their spy cards if they use them on you and get one to use that way. If you end up with a card advantage it's very hard to lose.

I wish I hadn't missed some of the cards to this point, but I'm sure I'll still be able to build some impressive decks.

In some games I've played the spy cards are the only things used for like a 1/3 of the game. They're so useful though.

How did you get to level 36? I'm at level 21, just went to Skellige last night and completed everything in White Orchard, Velen and Novigrad except for a few quests that require going to Skellige and a few random quests.

There are tons of Sirens in Skellige, just look around beaches and such.

I finished at 35 and I didn't do any of the horse races and fist fights. Main quest gives a lot of xp

Any question mark that's on the sea in Skellige has a 99% chance of having Sirens. If you got unlucky and found one with drowners, just head to the closest next one and you're guaranteed to see them.

I'm using a mod that gives additional XP for every kill, it adds up pretty quickly.

Yeah, but if the random pool included cards that you can also get from merchants, that means you'd be able to get doubles (there's a certain specified amount of cards in the games).

Hopefully that merchant gets patched though; I'm sure he will be.
