[Rumor] Nintendo & Disney?! Nintendo & Amazon?! It may happen!

Doesn't the Amazon rumor have to be bullshit considering the issues the two have had in the past? Amazon still won't sell Nintendo consoles officially or whatever, yeah?

I could kind of see the Disney stuff. That makes the most sense. Except Nintendo characters running around with Disney characters outside Wreck-It-Ralph kinda hurts my head.

Nintendo said they want to reach hundreds of millions of people with their smartphone games. Will being exclusive to the Amazon store get them that? I doubt it.

Pretty crazy, but I wouldn't be opposed to any of this. Also, Reggie kind of set the stage for this kind of stuff in his Digital Even monologue, so who knows.

Not really. It's very easy to kiss and make up if there's money to be made.

I can see the Amazon deal being exclusive just for android devices. But there is no way Nintendo is gonna miss out on that iOS money.

Very true. Just seems like we should see changes in how Nintendo products are handled on Amazon before these supposed new changes become official.
Damn it Amazon let me preorder the Animal Crossing bundle already

Weirder things have happened. I don't believe in these rumors, but I won't be flabbergasted if they come to be.

Well amazon sells the New 3DS XL officially, so it's not too far of a stretch to think there may have been some progress on that front.

Id be down for Wreck-It Ralph 2 featuring prominent Nintendo characters from the era.
And even them making their own Nintendo Spin off....I honestly just miss the days of seeing Nintendo Properties in cartoons as I did as a kid.

I wish Disney or Amazon would buy Nintendo. Hopefully this is just the first step so they finally release actual quality hardware that isn't almost a generation behind.

It'd be real crazy if NX ran Fire OS and had the Amazon App Store. Turns out the rumoured Amazon console is NX.

Would be hacked in seconds and destroyed by piracy.

It's weird that Nintendo would sign a deal with Universal for theme park rights but then go talk to Disney for movie and product tie-ins.

Seems really convoluted but then I remembered this is Nintendo so these rumors are probably true.

If the Nintendo and Disney agreements are true (thank god the say fuck it to Sony), we are going to have the best of both worlds.

Nintendo animated movies thanks to Disney.
Nintendo rides thanks to Universal.

We all know what Iwata is trying to do with the company so they will never be anything near doom ever, and going the Nintendo on every medium possible is the right way to go.
This is them not going third party. but using other companies to make them well wide reknown not only with games, but in movies, theme parks and toys.

Fan Fiction at its best. Disney collabing with Nintendo right after Nintendo went to Universal for theme park rights?

Wouldnt be a surprise in the slightlest, this things were usual before disney bought everything they could. They are probably in the zone of not getting away with buying anymore, but still wanting more pie.

Kinda suspect that Nintendo would get with Disney for everything but amusements and going with one of their direct competitors from that, but TWDC is a gigantic entity and I'm sure marketing would be willing to overlook that if the opportunity arose.

There's more than enough money on the table given all of Nintendo's untapped IP for them to overlook the amusement park thing. There's like 6 or 7 Nintendo series, in multiple genres, targeting multiple audiences, just waiting to be made.

Yes, but Amazon Japan also has Devil´s Third as a retail exclusive. And amazon still sells pretty much anything nintendo except consoles, so I don´t see why they would refuse to sell Nintendo software.

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
If the Nintendo/Disney partnership is true they better include a line about SE putting KH3 on NX as well while they are at it.

Let's not forget that Disney and Nintendo are pretty chummy, especially in recent years. Nintendo utilizes a lot of Disney Channel actors in their marketing, and let's not forget this beauty:

The original Disney Infinity is also free on the Wii U eShop.

Disney's gonna want to get Mario and others in Kingdom Hearts at some point if this is true, which is going to lead to a very tricky situation for everyone involved.

Look at Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Even before Disney bought Lucasfilm, both were featured in their theme parks. Indy was Paramount and Star Wars was 20th Century Fox.

Reading the original article, going by Google Translate (I know), it seems that Amazon would be IN ADDITION to iOS and Android, not that their games would be Amazon only. Better wait for someone who is actually spanish to get a better picture.
That's still a good thing to know so I hope it's true. I was wondering if the Amazon app store would get the games going forward. I use that on my phone and kindle fire.

Nintendo would be doing Amazon a big favor if the rumor is implying exclusivity. It really doesn't read that way in the OP but some people are acting like that's what it is saying.

Amazon app store has always been second string to google and apple.

Plinko

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
Amazon exclusive mobile games would be a colossal misstep. Talk about eliminating a huge chunk of possible money.

But would Nintendo be doing themselves any favours by ignoring the giant that is the iOS App Store??

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Anyone willing to translate the original article? I posted a link a few posts before this one: I think it'd be for the best, since there could be something lost in translation on GoNintendo (like, seemingly, the part about Nintendo games not just on Amazon)

Oh I'm certain they did since they are doing great things right now

Yep, basically this.
Disney is very mellow with theme parks right now while Universal is going all out (avatar land was a fuking mistake that are going to bite them in the ass, and they are still building shangai disneyland, so ther are no near future theme parks plans for them).
Disney probably wanted some kind of working together without any (or very little plans) for theme parks things, so Universal came along, gave them a better plan and Nintendo went along with them for theme parks, while still giving the rights for everything else (movies, games and toys) to Disney.

It happened with harry potter (minus disney getting anything becuase they basically said to JK Rowling, fuck you we are not making a whole theme park for you) but the movie rights are still Warners while universal has the rides.
