If you could pick only one favorite artist who would it be? I have been thinking for a while and I am fairly sure mine is Terry Moore. He floors me everytime I am looking at his books. His art is scarily consistent too.
Amanda Conner. I could easily list a dozen others but her art has always been right up my alley. It's so fun and bouncing with personality.

Steel Ball Run was beautiful at points. Araki's one of my favorite mangakas.

It's sad that she doesn't do interiors anymore.

I want this on a t-shirt

I don't know how true it is but I heard she damaged a nerve in her hand which makes it difficult to do interiors on a regular basis. Would definitely explain why her recent work has just been limited to covers if it's true.

If I were to go with an active interior artist it would be between Chris Samnee, Wes Craig, and Annie Wu I think.

Aja and Mignola are both on my favorites list too. I have a lot of favorites :(

See, that is how you insult a writer.

Like I was going to do this post in Bendis speak but it hurt my eyes too much to do that.

haha I love Hickman's work. He's an exceptional plotter, writes dialogue well, consistent, has solid overarching ideas that run his stories, and makes good use of the medium. His action is so and so. He has his motifs tho. Time displacement the most obvious one

Frank Quitely da God.

Most inventine storyteller in comics.

This is...?

Rafa please contain your excitement:

So basically Liefield is going to get attacked on Twitter when this book comes out.

One of the puppies didn't make it through the night. Apparently these things happen.

Sorry to hear that Psychbat. Puppies are adorable and shouldn't go to puppy heaven until they've lived a long, full life. :(

Started Rat Queens vol 1 tpb and it's quite enjoyable. I thought the premise was similar to Skullkickers but banter between the queens is better than the kickers duo had, plotting is still to be determined after two issues.

Sillymonkey.....likes something? WAT?

I dont know if this was posted before but here is a good look at Rucka's and Scott's upcoming Black Magick

The art looks great but I wish it either had more stark whites or was colored. The inkwash look is gorgeous but its not giving me enough contrast between figures/backgrounds.

That does look fantastic. Probably one of the things I'm looking forward to most out of all the Image book announcements. Though it does sound a lot like Coffin Hill.

Its a creator-owned series created at a time when Joe Mad was one of the biggest names in comics.

Did Joe Mad always work as slowly as he does these days? I mean, he's pretty Aja-tier with the timetable.

Right now I'm reading and watching Parasyte: The Maxim, and it's really freaking awesome.

Anime was really good, though it was a bit different from the manga.

This is...?

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run by Hirohiko Araki. It's the seventh part, and essentially a reboot, to the long running manga series (been going on since the 80s). Viz localized all of the manga to Part 3, Stardust Crusaders, years ago, and they finally started translating Parts 1 and 2 last year. They've been coming out on digital first followed by hardcover releases.

The art early on can be rough (kind of like an imitation Fist of the North Star almost) but Tizoc's picture shows some of his more recent work and it's really great. Araki has actually done official pieces for Gucci over the past few years. It's a very popular series.

X-Men has too big a fanbase to just ignore it. But you see, by putting Greg Land on Uncanny, they're beginning the process of weaning people off of X-Men. Soon, all X-books will be written and drawn by Greg Land.

If X-fans could survive Land on Uncanny years ago, they can do it again!

Nice save. Otherwise I'm afraid you'd have to go on the list.

ive said many times on this thread (well these) that Bachalo is the GOAT, I never said Joe Mad was. The only time I even bring up Joe is when someone talks about him actually heh. Still love him tho, no shame, but Bachalo is fucking amazing, The amount of detail he puts into his pages, and also being "cartoony" as I like it? GOAT indeed (for me)

true story. That Uncanny land cover they showed for the october book...is completely fine. In fact, its even good. Of course its just a cover, but im not panicking just yet

That sounds like a worse death than having your legs chopped off and being burnt by lava.

Pete Carroll Owns Me
I don't really have a favorite artist yet. It used to be Alvin Lee/UDON but I have no idea what he/they have been doing for the last decade.

So...

The Comic-GAF Official Super Artist is...

J.H.Williams III on Layouts
Joe Made on Pencils
???? on Inks
FCO on Colours....

(I say that because the colours in Zero Year were Messi-tier)

Man, I wished we had gotten a Magik book

Im torn between loving that shes on a "proper" x-men book (no more broody cyke sidekick), with her brother no less, and me wanting her to be on the dr.strange book :/

speaking of Magik... so, magic in the Marvel Universe, anyone can learn it right? Because her mutant power is teleportation. But she keeps learning more and more magic. Wiccan and Wanda also learned more and more, and Strange, well, hes not even a mutant or anything

Having only read the first three trades of Sandman from the library, I started Sandman Overture today and didn't think too much of issue #1 outside of the art. These books have always felt too dreamy.
