Non Non Biyori Repeat? I should watch the Working series, it always looked good, hehehe.

Agreed, this will be a fantastic comedy, especially if it continues on with it's extra ridiculous pace too, laughed so much with this one.

Yes watch Working! Allll of it!

Charlotte 01

It's refreshing to see a MC that's a complete and utter douchebag. Also the little sister is your standard moe genki archetype, so not sure why she's getting more hate than average. Color me interested. Hopefully the show doesn't shit the bed at 3/4ths the way through like Angel Beats did.

You might wanna check this show out then:

Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic (Season 2)

Yessss, more fantastic episodes containing Alice, Karen, Yoko, Aya and Shinobu!

In season 2, we continue the super fun adventures of the girls, following a super episodic format so it's all self contained and very fun. The girls are super cute and absolutely adorable, I'm in love with Alice, she's so pretty and fun! Shino and her blonde fetish never gets tiring. Aya and her difficulties confessing her feelings to Yoko is still extremely cute and funny. Karen and her broken Japanese continues to be some of the funniest stuff I've ever listened to/watched/read; she's just way too much cute to handle.

I love how everything is self contained and episodic, it makes watching Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic so easy and fun. Everything is relaxing and there is never any stress involved. One of the best shows to just sit down, get happy and squeeeeeee all over the place, because it'll happen over and over and over again, just squeeeeeeee!! ~~~~

KR4dLDW.gif

The English (Engrish) is amazing this series, I swear I think the seiyuu got better at speaking in English, which was a whole ton of fun to listen to.

INXSRz7.gif

I'm really glad that in the second season more characters had more screen time, seeing more people get involved with the girls was great. Kuzehashi-sensei or Kusshi-sensei was a welcomed character. The way that she had trouble expressing her feelings to the students was fantastic; always ending up staring in a mean way making all the students get back in "line", totally unexpected, but the way she ends up getting more fuwa fuwa with everyone was great.

Seeing more of Karasuma-sensei was great too, she's an amazing sensei who's super kind, caring and loving too, so adorable; she could be a student and fit in with the girls no problem at all.

GfijWjC.gif

Having Honoka get a lot more screen time this season was also great. She gave away sweets to Karen a lot during the first season, but didn't really have a role; in the second season, she still has a crush on Karen, but she gets acquainted with Shino and realize they both have blonde fetishes, it's so funny to see the both of them lose their minds thinking about blonde hair.

45vbWKI.gif

Isami also had more screen time and even an episode dedicated to her, this was pretty fun too. We saw a bit of Isa-nee from the first season, but not enough to leave a memorable impression. She's a total sis-con and it's pretty cute, she loves Shino so much!

The art style is still one of the best that cute/moe anime can adopt. It's light, it's cute, it's easy on the eyes and the simple drawings are so nice. The character designs are ridiculously cute and the girls are all 10/10, just fantastic. Love 'em all, especially Alice. I didn't notice it last season, but it was very noticeable this season, the girls have those extra cute red blemishes on their knees and elbows and things, it just exudes that this is a super cute show with an adorable cast.

CVLub6E.gif

The music is very happy, extra happy. The sounds in general just make you smile and get happy. It's even better when the BGM is integrated with whatever is happening, but all the cute noises made when the super cute scenes occur, just over the top cuteness and happiness, truly amazing.

Hu4p1uu.gif

Kiniro Mosaic and Hello!! Kiniro Mosaic is some of the best moe slice of life I have ever seen. It is extra cute, extra fun, extra squeeful and just makes me want to hug the girls so much, it's like.. "Squeeeeee~~". One of the best series I've ever seen. I hope a Season 3 is announced for 2016 or something, one more year left for the girls in high school.

This show was designed for me.
Im so glad you have joined the church of squee!

Ushio and Tora is a show about a boy and a tiger monster fighting demons. I mean, LOOK AT THIS OP.

edit: Wait, were you referring to that or Charlotte?

Im just glad yall finally watch this after I have recommended it a dozen times in the past lol.

Amagi Brilliant Park 9

Finally an episode about the Elementarios. So cute. Salama is the best one.

You have excellent taste in cutie fairies!

Didn't have a whole lot of time with the video rooms at AX this year, but I still got a bit of anime in. Lightning round!

Mononoke 1-2
Something I'd been recommended on in the past. Felt extremely unique and abstract without leaving the viewer feeling distant. Was very impressed and I honestly can't wait to watch more.

Mushishi 1
I'm sorry to have not watched this sooner. I'm sorry— okay? I'll do it. Just give me time.
I loved it.

El Hazard 1 (on LaserDisc)
They showed this dubbed and it sounded like it might have taken a lot of liberties with the script. Kinda funny, but maybe not intentionally. Show should have been entirely about Jinnei.

Riding Bean (on LaserDisc)
Holy shit. If you're into 90's OVAs with a ton of action and mechanical animation, check this out. It's a 45 minute one shot and it's pretty glorious. I think Bean (the main character) is a Gunsmith Cats character? Anyway, full marks. It was great.

Watched some other shows that I'd seen before just to get the theater atmosphere for them. Notably Eccentric Family and Eva 2.22. Seeing the latter in an enormous ballroom with booming stereo made me love that movie even more.

Riding Bean is legit. It is indeed tied in with Gunsmith Cats.
Two of my favorite things in anime.
El Hazard is great too. Ifurita is amazing.

I believe I have most definitely joined the Church of Squee, hehehe. I feel like the first gif I posted with Shino going crazy, just squeeeeee! Kiniro Mosaic will definitely get those types of feelings out of people too, there are so many cute scenes like the ones I posted above; most of those gifs are from one episode too..... I can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying S2 1-13
Although I hate that this is a series of "shorts," it still remains funny to watch and I'd just plain fun. It could have been a perfect SoL series, lol.

Wakaba * Girl
Alright, another series of "shorts" but the first episode shows promise of being just a cute and funny show to watch.

If you enjoy these short series, you should check out Muromi-san http://www.crunchyroll.com/muromi-san

For the Sunday of S there is a lack of Strike Witches don't you think?

Thats a damned huge oversight!

Gargantia without the SyFy bullshit is actually a decent universe with an interestingly mysterious world and a good cast of characters. It's too bad the OVAs made me invested in the universe again, only to realize that the anime is dead and that the novel sequels will never get translated. Too bad for those "circumstances".

Well, that was quite something. It wasn't quite as perfect as I wanted it to be, but it was still damn good. I'm not gonna do a full writeup just yet, but I'll still do a brief summary of my thoughts on the show.

Starting with what I didn't like, I've said before that the show is much too slow. This isn't entirely true; rather, the pacing isn't consistent throughout, with certain parts being dull, almost formulaic at points, with other parts being gripping and very entertaining to watch. I'd say that the most noticeable lull in pacing is immediately after the second half begins, again as I've said before, where a much needed sense of urgency isn't present until we enter the final stretch. While the first half is quite slow to ramp up as well, it works within the context of the show because there is no pressure and, as we are frequently told by Drosselmeyer, the story hasn't actually started yet. However, I think that the final six episodes more than makes up for this lull, where we get revelation after twist after revelation, which was incredibly enjoyable and interesting to watch! The story underneath the pacing issues never ceases to be interesting, however, and my issue with the pacing was that it was stopping me from seeing where the story went!

I really liked the visuals too, especially during the Tutu sequences. The spotlights above the characters and the use of ballet to convey their emotions really added to the concept that
they're all just performers upon Drosselmeyer's stage. When Tutu is taken to Drosselmeyer's domain, she expresses surprise that she's become a puppet when that's all she's been all along!
The costumes here definitely added to the feeling that
the world was merely a production.
They were all fairly simplistic with minimal flair, something which dawned upon me with Mytho's
crow outfit.
In retrospect that was a very good way of showing us that
everything occurring wasn't truly genuine, that the roles the characters were playing were not their true selves.

All of the music was fantastic, too. I especially liked the use of Gymnopédie (First Movement) as the song to introduce
Kraehe.
The song perfectly illustrates
her
as a tragic character as soon as
she
appears. The majority of the soundtrack is made up of classical music, but the original songs are very good too, such as the OP (I know I've linked to it here before, but that's not gonna stop me doing it again!) There were points where I thought the music could have been a little more subdued or even not been there at all, but those moments were definitely far and few between.

My favourite character design of them all was definitely Uzura, even if she wasn't necessarily my favourite character.
ch2_uzura.gif

...Even if she is
made from the remnants of Edel :C
There weren't really any characters I completely disliked
aside from the bastard raven
. Even Drosselmeyer, as the antagonist of the story, was just having too much fun being evil that I couldn't bring myself to hate him!

Overall, I think everyone who enjoys a very interesting story should give this a watch, even with the unfortunate pacing issues that I feel it has. It's an incredibly enjoyable ride and once you work out the mysteries of the world it becomes even more interesting!

Not too long ago I saw folks talking about Inside Out here. I'm going to watch it today with someone, should I get the tissues ready for us both? Or is it just good fun? I know next to nothing about it other than that it is made by Pixar.

Haven't seen it myself, but it looks like it's both fun and you might want some tissues ready too; least that's how the conversation went when it was brought up.

It might get you, but its mostly just a really solid movie. One of my favorites in the Pixar canon for sure. Very very very charming. I dont really want to spoil anything about it!

Ooooh, sounds really good Mandelbo! Not reading the spoilers, but I liked what you said about Princess Tutu, can't wait to watch it myself.

Thanks - I'm interested in seeing what you think of it too!

On Inside Out... I was planning on seeing it this Wednesday after seeing a poster for it, but when I tried to book tickets for it I found that it actually releases on the 24th in the UK :/
Now what am I supposed to do?

Going by the definition of anime as just animation, yeah it sort of is.
Not Japanese but still technically "anime"
Good point actually aha.

There were other people who posted stuff about it here in this thread as well. Although I guess it was mostly some comparisons to Marnie...
I never watched it lol. Guess I'll just post a small spoiler free impression, saying whether it was worth it or not. Seeing how others still want to watch it too.

How Maria the Virgin Witch ended? I dropped it midway. Someone spoil it for me.

- Bernard (church dude) tell Galfa to rape Maria so she lose her magic power. He failed to do so, but Maria lose her power due to the shock
- Maria captured by the church, and have an argument with Gilbert about God existence. Gilbert somehow gone insane or having sudden realization about it.
- Joseph enlisted into war, and fight with Galfa after learning what Galva did to Maria
- Maria about to be burned, but rescued by the witch guild
- Joseph win the fight against Galfa with Maria help, then later propose to Maria
- Maria regain her witch power (power of love), and immediately stop the war.
- Michael return to give a divine punishment to Maria, but s/he was stopped by Ezekiel and the former use their power to ask the surrounding people on what they think about Maria.
- Bernard want to spread doctrine without god interference, and killed by Michael.
- Ezekiel was punished. Her punishment was to be reincarnated as Maria daughter.
- Maria marry Joseph and move to Ann village.
- Priapos never did get his human dick.

I think that the gist of it.

Ranpo Kitan 1

Kobayashi is one fucked up dude. I notice he see his parent as "gray" person. Dude somehow feel happy being a suspect for a murder. Akechi on the other hand is another eccentric detective with coffee and medicine dependency, just like Sherlock and House.

Damn, this is one hell of a season, so many interesting shows.

Particularly interested in GATE, Gangsta, Durarara X2 Ten, Monster Musume, Non Non Biyori Repeat, Dragon Ball Super, Working, Prison School, the one with nipples on Crunchyroll and Ushio and Tora.

I'm surprised by how many shows I'm enjoying so far.

Snow White and the Red Hair being split cour is a great thing, think about it. Bones already have a busy schedule for Fall so for them to do split cour with this series will lessen their burden. I mean they could have went with 2cours instead and that would of cause some issues.

I mean yeah it sucks that you have to wait but imo the positive outweighs the negative.

Now to find the time for that and also some of my backlog (currently catching up to Shokugeki no Souma and Plastic Memories). I might have to stop playing games for a while.

Which I'm perfectly fine with, judging from the premieres I watched.

Alex has potential to be best girl. Hopefully they'll give her some better clothes.

Does anyone know when Monster Musume will go up on Crunchyroll to add to Mt queue?

Man, uh... how can I say this...

I enjoyed watching the first episode, but I'm not sure if it was because of its qualities, I was laughing out loud all the way through about how incredibly dumb everything was.

If that was the point and it's indeed a comedy anime, then yeah, I should add it to the list, but if it's supposed to be actually interesting, then there's another list it should be added to.

I know, right? For some reason I was expecting a mediocre season where Non Non Biyori Repeat would be all I cared about, but it's been so damn good that I'm already having a blast with the season, even though it hasn't even aired yet.

Can't wait for more Candy Store.

Definitely not going to be a "comedy" but the first episode did have a lot of comedic moments built into it. It's Key, they bring you in slow and lighthearted then tear that heart outta your chest at some point along the way with character development and actual storytelling.

The initial monologue already had me in tears. It seems you know about the story, perhaps from the source material, so I'll take your word for it, but the first episode was definitely a "so bad it's good" kind of thing.

So what you're saying is there is a chance for you then..

Well at least there's no sign of any creepy sibling love so far, so that's something.

Yeah I'm honestly shocked. As annoying and overly affectionate as the little sister is, they've done well to not imply any sexual attraction between the two. The second the little sister starts angsting over not being able to suck her brother's dick (oh but don't worry they are actually cousins or something!) is the moment I drop the show though.

That won't happen because they'll kill her off before it gets to that point, gotta make it emotional in some way.

At least that's what I hope. #Believe

Caught up on the few eps of Baby Steps that I was behind. Last few episodes were really good, this show just completely knows how to balance the tennis and the life outside/around tennis parts. Would like a little more info on some of the supporting characters matches though seeing as they're so likeable.

Also Kuroko's is finished now right? I was holding off till it did to binge s3. So much good sports anime at the moment it seems.

Wel, going by the staff alone, it would be happy d for them to create something that bad. I mean, it may not live up to everyone's expectations in the end, but I hope they play out the original story well.

Uggh, I really hope they go nowhere near that. They will be close since they already introduced her the way they did, however, it will hopefully be a good wholesome close that can only add to the feels when shit goes down.

Classic gag manga Osomatsu-kun gets new anime adaptation.

Studio Pierrot opened a website on Monday to reveal that Fujio Akatsuka's (Akko-chan, Tensai Bakabon, Hennako-chan) Osomatsu-kun gag manga is getting a third television anime series. The new series, titled Osomatsu-san, will be the first television anime in 27 years, and it follow the characters after they've become adults.

The staff are creating the new anime to commemorate what would have been Akatsuka's 80th birthday (Akatsuka passed away in 2008 at age 72).

Director: Yoichi Fujita (Gintama)
Series Composition: Shu Matsubara (Gintama)
Character Design: Naoyuki Asano (Saint Young Men, Shiranpuri)
Art Director: Seiki Tamura (K-ON!, Lupin III: The Woman Named Fujiko Mine)
Music: Yukari Hashimoto (Penguindrum, Yuri Kuma Arashi)
Production: Studio Pierrot

With the staff on this project, I think this has the potential to be quite worthwhile. I can already see that Asano is using the white character highlights he used to such great effect in Saint Young Men.
