What is the most powerful thing a playable character has done in a videogame?

Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
Whats his name from sin and punishment 1 transformed into this gigantic mecha kaiju fusion and literally fights a replica earth, I still have not beat this final boss, but it still amazes me, especially since it was done on the N64

There was a time where I wasn't a huge Metroid fan, and I had a friend of mine say this to me about Samus Aran;

"Samus is awesome. I mean she goes to a planet with one gun, and then leaves the planet as it's blowing up."

That being the game after the one where she flies across space to a species' home planet and singlehandedly commits almost complete genocide

Samus is the strongest nintendo character no question. She doesn't have anything overly crazy in her arsenal, but she kills everything she meets anyway and destroys their house and all their friends just to rub it in.

Now this is a fight I would pay money to see.

If you want to debate the actual strongest nintendo character, it has to be between a character from xenoblade, arceus, or rosalina, rosalina LITERALLY REBOOTS MARIO GALAXY MAKING MARIO GALAXY 2 WHICH IS JUST MARIO GALAXY 1 REBOOTED WITH ROSALINA BEING ALL MYSTERIOUS AND GODLY AT THE END
Rosalina controls the entire universe to her will.

activate a black hole to destroy existence and bring everything back to the beginning (nothingness).

Moved the Earth around the solar system until it hits a large enough accumulated mass to consume the Sun. By hand.

In Xenoblade
Shulk kills the last god of his world and uses A.L.V.I.S. (the true Monado) to recreate the universe, ending the cycle Zanza put it in and achieving true free will for all beings. Then he gives up his newly-won godhood to live a humble life as a human.

To be fair, though,
ALVIS does all the actual work. Shulk just asks.

The Demi-Fiend kills Kagutsuchi, the avatar of the Great Will who controls the cycle of death and rebirth, and in doing so annihilates the entire multiverse and the concept of time itself. Then he leads an army of demons into battle against the Great Will itself.

Yeah, it's hard to deny that the cosmic royal family toys with the universe a little too effortlessly. Half the time the stories amount to 'Oops, I fucked up everything in existence. Fix it before lunch, please."

Sometimes i wonder if the writers of such stories take themselves seriously.

A much better Kratos example is when the Colossus tries to stand on him and he just chucks it away by its giant foot and it crashes into some buildings/a mountain. Legendary.

Pretentious answer

Life is Strange (story spoiler)
Saving Kate Marsh from suicide by rewinding time

But... I thought you couldn't.

Isn't the whole gimmick of that scene that Max has burned herself out on rewinding time and can't do it any more? That's what happened to us. We couldn't rewind time and Kate died.
It was fucking devastating. Seriously.

Not that powerful if you ask me!

I think this wins the thread tbh.

Objectively, it's not some hugely cosmic show of power. But in terms of the relative strength Chris shows here in comparison to what he's like for the rest of the game, this bit is just absolutely insane. It's totally out of the blue in an otherwise relatively realistic game, protagonist-wise. I laughed heartily at the time, and I still laugh about it.

Sometimes i wonder if the writers of such stories take themselves seriously.

This. Saying a bunch of esoteric junk about some powerful (yet externally meaningless) beings doing some powerful stuff doesn't really hit home.

Mass Effect 3, synthesis ending. Shepard turns everyone in the entire galaxy into cybernetic beings. This includes leaves & hats.

Soul Nomad's MC (Demon Path)
More or less conquers then wipes out everyone on his entire world, devours Gig, attaining power equivalent to a God, then takes on the Gods of the two worlds together at the same time, beats them, and destroys both worlds in the process (with the implication that it destroys existence, since doing so would cause the MC to disappear in the process), just for shits and giggles.

I think the first two examples are pretty much it.

Bayonetta punching a god into the sun.

Asuras fight against the creator of all, Chakravartin. In what becomes a extremely Gurren Lagann-Hen-esque fight. Sure the actual fight itself in terms of gameplay isn't anything remarkable, but the pure emotional weight that is in the fight is palpable to a new level compared to most others. Asuras pure and undiluted wrath against those who would harm the people he loves makes Kratos look fucking mellow.

I don't think you can top this especially when you are particularly invincible.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Does this count? From FFVIII:

You can summon Eden, a gigantic Garden thing that blasts the enemy into space with hyper speed only to collide with a black hole.

But if you pull the trigger the gun actually launches the bullet. Is the gun responsible for what the bullet hits? Alvis requires someone to command him or he can do nothing, he follows Shulk's will completely.

FF8 had a couple of WTF OP, kinda moments :p

Squall shooting that beam of light into space and just smashing it against the planet, Zach running an entire circle around the planet to simply punch an enemy, Quistis creating Black Holes etc etc etc lol.

Asura's Wrath is hilariously ridiculous

This is beyond amazing.

How ridiculous did Katamari ever get? I know you got powerful enough to roll up clouds and volcanoes and such :p Given a little time the prince could easily start absorbing planets.

HUGE Bayonetta 1 spoilers:

You end up using your hair to punch God/a god into the sun.
1.
That was more of an avatar than Jubileus itself
2.
It wasn't at full power
3.
It seems to be still alive
3.
There are other deities

It's comparable to DMC4
