Always thought it was weird Alex wasn't in USFIV or UMVC3 after he showed up in TatsuCap.
We don't actually know yet. It's rumored to be the former, but it's completely unconfirmed and capcom isn't talking about it yet.

It most definitely takes place after 4 based on Ryu's and Chun Li's moves but the question is weather it takes place after III or not so hopefully imo this rumor confirms it takesplace after III because IV being a prequel to III played it too safe in story mode.

Character isn't as fun to play because they were designed with the previous game's mechanics.
With the case of 3s characters, its tough for them to transition because they were designed around having multiple stocks of super and the parry system in mind.

Aren't Urien and Alex the next most popular characters from SF3 to not make it into SF4? I'm not saying this rumor isn't legit but they seem like the most obvious SF3 characters to put in at this point.

Well, that depends on the character. I always thought, for instance, Q would have fared way better in SF4 than he did in 3S. Of course, that isn't saying much.
I agree, we need to move past 3 finally. Also having another prequel in the mainline would just be super dumb.
Was the Illuminati destroyed at the end of 3S? What with Nash having that bindi-like jewel on his head and the background in his promotional art looking like Gill's 2nd Impact stage I assume the Illuminati is still around. If so, it may be prior to III.
I'm just saying what I'm hoping for. Because otherwise we get into Fast & Furious timeline bullshit.

Or they regrouped again. I just don't see Capcom making a other prequel game to III. Capcom has been pretty vocal about how they dropped the ball story wise with IV.

You're. And yes, people misspell all kinds of shit on the Internet, but most of the time the mistakes are being made by so called "native speakers" who really have no excuse. As a former teacher of English as a second language, I can't tell you how often my students used incorrect words/spellings because they "read it on the Internet".
People using "of" when they should be using "have" is probably the most irritating mistake I encounter on a regular basis.

I'd expect a completely new character for Comic Con based on what Capcom was saying at E3. But EVO is next week, so one of these characters would be a good fit to unveil there. Particularly Alex since he's a major fan requested character.

So how does everyone think Urien and Alex will play? I figure Urien's V-Trigger will be Aegis Reflector. I don't know if he will get two stocks to release two at the same time or he will always fire off two Aegis Reflectors on activation.

The two most likely scenarios are that:
A-SFV takes place RIGHT before SFIII during the Worldwide Martial Arts Tournament that the Illuminati Organization hosted to find potential new recruits (The tournament was already over by the time SFIII started).
B-Or the game takes place after SFIII and we can finally move forward in the story we been stuck in for 15 years.
So I'm obviously hoping it's B.

Leak from trusted source from months ago states the game is set after SF4 and before SF3. So far everything from the leak has been confirmed true.
And the current state of the game and its roster back up the idea it takes place before SF3.
