Went to a screening last night. Didn't want to see this whatsoever but hey screening tickets are free so why not.

Very pleaseantly surprised at how good it was. Just enough of the nostalgia to keep it good and didn't really interrupt the pacing of the movie. Everything felt just right.

The 2 kids being boys dynamic is amazing. The littlest is the true star of the film.

Don't really like Charlie Day outside Always Sunny, but he had perhaps the funniest cameo I've ever seen.

Didn't want this movie being made but im oh so glad it was. Put your worries aside it's a must see.

I would say Christmas for myself but I watch it every year so it doesn't pack the same nostalgia punch that the original does. Hearing Holiday Road literally takes me back to being a kid...sitting in front of a console TV and watching it on a VHS rental for first time.

I like Ed Helms but Chevy absolutely is National Lampoons Vacation for me. I worry that it just won't be the same. I do want to see this as soon as possible though.


Edit: I just saw you said Vegas. Despite owning the series on DVD, I've probably only seen it 2-3 times.

He's not in it very much at all. I don't think your opinion on him will affect your thoughts on the movie one way or the other.

It's my own personal tradition to watch Christmas Vacation every Christmas. Just by myself for my own enjoyment. That's obviously my favorite, my the original is good too and I think I enjoyed European.

I'm gunna have to wait and see what people say about the new one. I'm not optimistic. Thanks for your thoughts.

Agreed. European Vacation didn't get a single chuckle out of me. The others had me laughing at least some of the time. And even thought "Hotel Hell" was just a commercial for a .com website, it was better than European Vacation

I agree with this list completely. I'm curious to see how the new Vacation fairs, though my expectations are quite low. When does the review embargo end?

That's my ranking as well. Vegas is pretty weak, but it still crushes European. The trailer for the new one that I saw looked pretty weak.

pretty much. can only trust reviews on comedies/horror movies if they're positive. ymmv on low rated comedies/horror movies.
