Witcher 3 Gets New Game+ Mode as Final Free DLC

There's a bear in velen, that is guarding something. Really hard to beat for me at least since i'm low level.

Use bombs and run away a lot. The fire spell is handy for whittling it down if you start using it before it has time to enter it's reach. If you wait too long it will hit you. Then, of course, run away again. I'm level 29.

Replayability. Try the other decisions without having to level up all over again or look for all the same gear again. NG+ is just pure fun.

What? I'll be able to continue AGAIN and keep my current level? I'm IN!

edit: I was forgetting what NG+ was. Do you think I should finish the game before the patch?

Whoa, so it's true...

As someone who's finished the game and got all of the achievements, is there any incentive to play through the new game+ mode on XB1?

Why do people want this? Never figured that out
Well, at least for one playthrough, I wanted to be able to play a Geralt that's strong in the beginning, and slightly stronger at the end. A much smaller power curve

New Game + gives me that, the feeling of starting the Witcher 3 adventure as an experienced Witcher who's near 100 years old

Bought it 3 days ago, played for a bit.. read that CDPR screwed up with 1.07, so that steam achievements won't unlock anymore. I really, really want to play further, but I can't. When will they fix it?

Oh well.. got Pillars of Eternity as a gap filler.

Free DLC = Regular Patch

It's good, but CD Projekt Red is wording this to make them look better than it actually is.

They can word it however they want, at the end of the day they are giving people free stuff that a lot of publishers would charge for, good on them for trying to get some good press by calling it free DLC, they deserve it I think.

Tl;DR

CD projekt red is wording it that way because it is better than it actually is.

Let's see, they made solid 60 to 100 hours long game. They are giving players the ability to take those 100 hours and put them into good use again.

I recently had to restart the game and do you know how difficult it to go from 34 back to 1? How many companies do that, no matter how much you try and make it look bad, going 2 is still better than 1. CDPR is doing more right than most game developers.

Small island north of Ard Skellig.

I've scouted every single Island, even those without question marks. I'll take a look though just in case I overlooked it.

Is it protecting the Bear School Witcher gear? If so I have it so I must have beaten the bear:

Are you kidding me??? I put way too many hours into this damn game, lol. Another 100 won't hurt I guess.

Maybe I'll try to understand gwent this time.

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Anyone know what teh NG+ would mean?

Is it just a higher difficulty or are we talking about something else?

No one knows until they release more details about it. Ideally it would be a total game rebalance for loot, enemies, and quests that would fit a high-level Geralt after completing the game the first time. That may be expecting a bit much though, but anything less wouldn't be all that interesting either.

Even Death March was way too easy given the rapid pace at which Geralt overpowers his enemies in core progression. A rebalanced NG+ that is entirely built around expecting Geralt to have reached a certain level threshold and gear would make the bonus mode potentially thrilling.

Awesome news, I wonder what will actually be carried over into new game + though. Likely your level / stats/ points for your signs will carry over, but will items carry over as well? And what about weapons and armor? I suspect they won't since lot's of armor and items are part of quests.

Then you have the level 53 Chort. Just keep killing cows, then kill all the level 27 chorts that come. After that the level 53 chort comes.

Yeah, I've beaten that bear then. As far as the Chorts are concerned I'm not too interested really. They were introduced to stop farming for money and I seldom go back there now. I've killed quite a few of them but they don't seem to drop anything of great worth.

New Game + is welcome, but it's pretty damn underwhelming to see this being the final bit of free DLC. I feel like this is something that should have been added via a patch and not as part of the free DLC promotion. But hey, I'm just happy we're at least getting it. :D

perhaps, they probably should have done it sooner too

how many people are going to go back really? I mean this will be popular here for sure but wonder if they should have done it a month ago

They should have just released cheat codes so people can god mode and call it a day.

I have put 89 hours into the game already and I have only been in Skellige for like 4 of those. (Side quests a plenty) I might be able to finish this before the first true DLC comes out...

Just amazing news. I messed up getting all the Gwent cards the first time around. It'll make the chase for all them so much easier in new game plus. Thank you, based CDPR.

I missed getting a gwent card when
the baron hung himself

people speaking about death march... i have no idea what this is and i feel like im a nub for not knowing =/

Armor and weapons are probably the most important things for me. I'd be severely disappointed if they weren't included....

Where was it ever said it was cut from the game? I thought they added it due to requests from fans

One of the first DLC packs had a New Game Plus mention in the files. I think it was intended to be added later but I don't think it was cut from the game, probably just focusing on patching before NG+.

Fuck cdpr. Truly.

I'm 150 hours into my first playthrough, just at skellige. I don't have time for this ng+. It's too much. I can't handle this game. Props to the team, most amazing game I've ever played.

I assume they will be. Weapons currently scale to your level even before New Game +, so you'll find better stuff on a new run fairly quickly I'd imagine.

This is cool, but definitely one of those things I wish was in the initial game.

It is a testament to the main story though that I barreled through it so I could see the ending, rather than putting it off and never finishing like in Skyrim or something. It would have been nice to start over and finish all the side quests and see other choices rather than starting a new save.

I finished the game already but I skipped all the Gwent stuff so I wouldn't mind replaying the game for that. I can also check out all the UI improvements as well.

Damn it, I'm still in act one with the game time counter at 20 days...

In the mean time, they still need to fix all the broken quests.

don't really have much of a desire to fuck with my witcher 3 ending, but this is cool for people who want it. i've got a few dlc quests to catch up on that i forgot about, so i'm heading back to w3 very, veeeeery soon.
