At the end of the video they announced a new Cinemassacre series "Bootsy Beats..." It's going to be a more in-depth look at tough games, where Bootsy will give specific tips and strategies for how to beat them. The first episode will be Battletoads.

I like how we suggested this a while ago, including the "Bootsy Beats" name :p

I think first and foremost these guys are movie nerds through and through, they enjoyed gaming growing up of course but James is all about the movies. Hell, he used the craze of the nerd to make his dream movie, his most creative nerd/board James episodes are like mini movies. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that but I do think they need to hold back on the bitching a bit on stuff they don't really.. Understand.

There was one time where they were saying how shit a modern console was because Mike found it needed a shit load of patches every time he turned it on. Well, shit. What does he expect when it's turned on once every 9 months, just play offline.. Pretty painful. It's like reading about how Patrick Moore (the fucking GAMESMASTER) had no fucking clue about any games at all other than some random chess game or something. I never expected him to be into gaming really, but it still was like a punch in the gutt of my childhood!!

That's awesome, Bootsy has some legitimate skill at old school NES games. He is making NES Battletoads look like child's play most of the time. Though Mike does note that Bootsy is not bringing his A game here and has had better runs. Battletoads has some nightmare level stuff from the turbo tunnel onwards.

I had no idea that there was a level in the NA version of the game that is completely broken in two player co-op. It is also interesting how they point out that lag on a modern TV makes this stage unplayable too.

I can't believe Mike said he thought the Surf City was the toughest of the first 5 stages. I always that was a relaxing break from the intensity of the snow stage and the snake stage.

The log/whirlpool section is short and it's the same pattern. Up down up down up down. It doesn't even try to trick you. Even if you screw up, you can take one log hit and survive.

Oh I've been saying that for years now. When you see them do unscripted stuff it's pretty apparent that games aren't their first passion, which like you said is fine it's just surprising at first given how he got "famous". That being said I don't see them as any kind of authority on anything past the 16-bit era. When you really think about it they're kinda clueless when it comes to most consoles.

As for modern consoles updating, the PS4 and PS3 are notorious for this and frankly I don't blame him. I hate that about those consoles. The updates and installs are ridiculous. On the other hand it's stupid how uninformed they were. You'd think they hadn't played a video game in the last 10 years the way they were acting. Part of that is their Nintendo fanboy-ism, the rest is just plain not playing games enough. I mean if you spent the money on a PS4 (and $60 for freakin' Godzilla) and you have no clue how it operates that's a little insane.

That was a great J&M Mondays as Bootsy is amazing at Battletoads. I'm looking forward to doing a playthrough of the game within months from now. Nice shout out to Bucky o Hare as well.

Also, Bootsy Beats is finally happening. He should do one on Ninja Gaiden 3 and The Adventures of Bayou Billy.

I'm a big fan of Bootsy so nice to hear that he's going to appear in more videos now and doing what he does best, beating games people never could.

I mean, ffs it says if it's splitscreen right on the back of the box. Someone should let Mike know which settings to change so games auto update when the PS4 is in sleep mode.

I really liked this episode, Bootsy is a great guy (though not really funny, they should just let him be himself instead of giving him lines in skits or anything) and I love watching him slay these tough games.

I found Bootsy to be pretty amusing in some of the Board James videos. His character in Shark Attack is quite funny, you can tell the other two are cracking up. No idea if his shit was just made up on the spot or what

They like to complain about what they like to complain about, and I don't care, what gets me however is that they either fail to understand, why do new consoles update so much? Why are things different? Instead of trying to understand or accept the 2015 ways of doing things, they praise the past.

I remember back when you could buy a game, and you wouldn't need an update, well yeah, but games are different now, they're much bigger, some have more content. Companies like to add new features, or fix small bugs. I don't want to get all into that, but my point is that they just remind me of someone born in the 1950s complaining about iTunes or smartphones. Get with the times and try to understand why things are the way they are.

Haha, I dig the fact the small stuff like the weird design of the Dreamcast controller's cord being on the bottom, or trying to change the clock to "cheat".

This was a rather good episode for the fact the game gives him so much material to work with and all the strange stuff to discover.

Seaman is one of the Dreamcast games that I have never owned. It really is one of the most unique life simulator games out there. Decent episode.

This poster pulses with an appeal so broad the typical restraints of our societies fall by the wayside.
That was a great episode and a good showcase for one of the quirkiest games ever. I think Dreamcast sales on eBay will probably see a bit of an uptick thanks to this.

Sea Man was one of the games I've constantly seen mentioned on lists of good Dreamcast games, but I never knew anything about it.

Also, South Park did it!

Forgot all about Seaman. That's the first time I got any real insight on what the game was like. Sometimes I would search old games on YouTube that I never had a chance to play, but I never thought to look this one up. Glad I never bought it though. Great episode.

That was a really good one. Seaman was always one of those games I was super interested in but KNEW I wouldn't actually enjoy (I binge games for a week and then quit).

The other really funny seaman video I've seen was nick from Screwattacks the vault review of it which yall should check out

nick "I work for screwattack"
Seaman "you're in the sex industry"
Nick "......yes"
Seaman "I'm sure that doesn't have good benefits

I was hoping Seaman would make that statement just to see the nerd's reaction, but oh well.

This makes me even more disappointed that 3DS version got cancelled.
