Minecraft Windows 10 version

Anyone tried running this version on some really low-end hardware? Friend's kid has an EeeBook with an Atom Z3735 processor - could it run the Windows 10 version of Minecraft? I know it can't run the full desktop version properly.

Tried to install it on my Windows Tablet but the damn thing only works on a 64bit OS

When its free, you are the product.

They give it for free to migrate people on the W10 version and we all know why and what's underlined

Compatiblity for (I think) French/Belgian keyboard layouts.
Indeed, we are weird here :p
Not sure if Windows 10 has this functionality yet, but what I do is set up an alternate QWERTY keyboard layout, such as the American one. Then open up your game, and use the keyboard combination ALT+SHIFT to switch between Keyboard layouts. Your active window will then swap the keyboard language, while keeping the rest of your PC in AZERTY. Sure, your physical buttons won't match up with the actual keys, but it should be manageable outside from some punctuation.

If you'd like, you can also customise this combination.
Yeah, I already have a Qwerty setting, would be better when we will be able to change key in-game though.

So I can play multiplayer with my daughter on iPad?

I hope they eventually let the console versions join PE - or they could port the Windows 10 version to console? It is so much fun when you play multiplayer, and so limiting to specific platforms is a shame.

Sorry if someone already asked but i'm not seeing the windows 10 version of minecraft in the windows store at all, I know it's a free code for previous owners on pc but I only own it on console and was thinking about dipping in on pc for the beta price.

Made a small video to show new world generation time, how new chunks load in, etc. Upped the distance rate from the default 352 to 500.

Right, it's not a free product if you don't. You can't just throw a stipulation that explicitly still involves a money transaction and qualify it on that giant asterisk :p

Why would they make a " different " version just for W10 ? marketing ? Or some other shenanigans ? (I'm looking at you GFWL)

They are probably going to use Minecraft as a trojan horse and get kids to force their parent to upgrade to Windows 10.
And before you know it everything including Steam will have DRM and microtransactions.

Just look at this evil bugger:

So minecraft windows 10 version can't be installed on my HP Stream 7 due to weak specs.

Disappionting but oh well.

Huh, that doesn't seem all that much faster than the normal Java version, I expected it to be blazing fast on a good PC.

I'm waiting a few days to upgrade to W10 myself, just want to see how compatibility issues flesh out first with a few things.

Game works fine here, the install failed first try but second try downloaded and installed with no issue

Mouse sensitivity is way too high, mouse runs at 450dpi and ingame I set it as low as possible but still very high sens

Downloaded this on my PC. Not sure how I feel about it yet, don't really play much Minecraft but it seems like a step back as far as options go and somewhat seems like a way to charge you for skins. Will keep at it though. Anyone else have their achievements show up in Japanese or is it just me?

Sounds work the same as before except there is now a store. To use custom sounds you just choose v custom on the skin menu and it opens the file browser.

How the fuck do you play coop? I plugged the DS4 in as a second pad and that didn't work and I cannot work out how to connect the PE with W10E, google is failing me on this as well.

OT performance wise it's ace. The world's generate instantly and t the movement is fast and responsive. My 7yr old is emptying it just now and commented on how smooth it is, I assumeb the lack of mods will see him back on the Java version pretty quickly though.

Edit: nvm, it appears MP isn't enabled yet.

I tried it but even though I claimed my full version from mojang and it says so on my billing history, it claims I have the trial version.

Also, when I launch it my speaker plays high pitch static that doesn't go away until I close the program. Disabling sound does nothing.

Maybe they meant "demo" because it sure seems like it's that initial flash demo for the game.

I have the Mojang version, so I got the "beta" version for free.

I bought the Windows 10 version. My daughters Windows Store uses my MS account so she has access to my purchases. Anyone know if she could download Win10 Minecraft and sign in under her Live account or will it be tied to mine?

Also, Windows 10 is going to get a new build soon with fixes and some more PC-like interface, sorry for pulling a bit of a Windows 8 :p

Oh yep the new Win10 build it will have a 32 bit version, too! And keyboard mapping, FOV sliders, and other pcgamerthings.

My trial version would just make a screeching noise so I uninstalled it. Anyone have this?

Ran really well on my Inspiron 5720 which is a few years old now and can't even handle a simple game like Torchlight 2 at 1080p with effects at medium.

I was definitely a buyer if it was cross platform with Xbone. Seems pretty backwards considering how MS is trying to create a seamless experience between XB and PC.
Honestly, I'm sure their plan is to eventually get the Windows 10 Version up to snuff, then to extend it to the Xbox One and have that replace the 4J version while making it BC with Mobile/Tablet/PC.

Smart advertising move for w10.
They're really trying to push it very hard. Not a good sign, imho.

I just tested out Minecraft original version and Windows 10 version on my new HP Stream Mini . I added 4GB of additional RAM on top of the base specs. The original version runs very poorly and I have to turn the fancy effects off. The Windows 10 version is flawless and runs at an extremely smooth framerate.

Managed to stop my apps (+ Minecraft) from crashing before launching by getting the W10 Media Feature Pack. My initial impression: it's pretty terrible.

Extremely limited graphics options, FPS lock (I think), windowed, input lag, and apparently less content than the Java version. The only positive thing I could say about it so far is that it seems to handle chunk loading a lot faster, having distant blocks come into view out of fog in the distance instead of popping into existence in the Java version.

How are you finding Windows 10 on the HP Steam 7? With the technical preview I ran into massive memory issues/overheating causing the CPU to clock really low.

I haven't tried any new builds over the past 2-3 months.

I've redeemed the game to my account, but whenever I go into the Store on my Windows 10 device it asks me to purchase it. Anyone else got this problem?

I think I only had it until I managed to redeem the game on the Mojang site and on the Microsoft site, then I think it sorted itself out, although in-game it still gives me the time limit.

Well, it ditches Java so it's less resource intensive, and it will allow cross-play between Pocket Edition versions... Sure, it's a Trojan horse for their own online gaming services... But if it provides a better experience, who cares?...

One day it will be feature complete with the Java version, and there will be little reason not to migrate.

I had the same issue - I don't have a CC on file so I clicked 'buy' to see what happens and I got it for free anyway. I guess it's just a glitch, but if you qualify I reckon it should be OK.
