Because Kate is gr8 I drew a thing.

Oh man that's good work. Nice job, Kate's one of my faves. Seems like genuinely one of the nicer characters in the game.

I've never wanted to know how to draw/paint/edit video this bad, since this game with all the fan made videos/drawings and stuff. Thanks for making me feel bad about myself Life is Strange.

It's a tough one but it is feasible if you have good memory and investigated everything. She has a picture of her with her sisters and the letters and care you see from her father. The passage can be found too, but it's a tough one to remember. Answering her call, telling her to go to the police and getting David to back off from her will all let you bypass some answers. I think there might be other actions too. Two wrong answers is what's too many. It's a real difficult one to do but it's good that it's not too easy or too tough and that the immersion is strong enough to keep going. You can always make a second save file from that point and save her while we wait on Ep. 5. It's a well done moment I feel!

I didn't want to tell her to go to the police, not just because the last time I told someone in authority about Nathan it didn't end well (telling the principal in ep 1) -- but because she would call me her "backup witness", which isn't something I wanted on my shoulders at the time. I did tell David to back off though, still, wasn't enough. I'll save Kate on a second playthrough, after I play all of the episodes (including 5)
speaking of, when does episode 5 come out?[/SPOILER]

After September 22nd, that's eight weeks after the release of 4

So, about episode 5...
Was it already discussed that Max will most probably use photo of her and Warren to travel back in time and arrest Jefferson during the end of the world party (cause Chloe, probably is really dead at the end of 4th chapter)?

Yeah I didn't tell her to go to the police either but only got one wrong answer, a bit of remembering on some of the choices (her father for example) and a bit of luck on others (or maybe reading into her character and choosing the right options was easier because of Persona and seeing the various results possible to answers in Ep. 1). Though the bible passage was definitely luck, it was 50/50 for me at that point.
As for Ep. 5, the other episodes took about 8 weeks, 10 in the case of Ep. 4. If Ep. 5 is pretty lengthy, I can see it take 10, maybe even a bit more. So my guess is sometime in October.

One of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard, the other versions are great as well

Can't stop thinking about the game. Gonna be sad when its over, most of the time I'm glad when the credits roll as most of the games I play outstay their welcome to some degree.

Can't give enough credit to Dontnod, they've made a game that'll linger in my memory for years, no matter how episode 5 goes.

edit: Is there any way to buy/legally download the original songs from the game like the one I posted? Other than Spotify.

This has to be one of my favourite pieces of fanart for any game, I really love it.

I saw that the game updated today or yesterday.

Episode 5 next week ? :D

Normally they always update the week before the next episode hits.

Just finished episode 1, I have no idea what kind of ride I've gotten myself into.

Bought this game yesterday. Really liking it. Max and Chloe are cool in my book.

Just finished episode 3.

Maaaaaaaan. I know why max would do it, but it´s kinda frustrating. YOU DO NOT CHANGE STUFF IN THE PAST. Marty Mcfly knows that, The Flash knows that. Everyone does. AHHHH. Now she in a wheelchair.

Now on to episode 4.

Yea I finished 4 last night. Spoilers for 4:

Anyone else
still suspicious of the principal? I didn't see the Jefferson thing coming even though I was basically untrusting of most of the adults in the game. The whiskey in the Dark Room and the conversation with Jefferson at the end of ep 2 makes me think he is in on it, or at the least aware / allowing it to go on.

I think there is a scene in the dark room but it only shows a glass with whiskey and the binders or something? I can't remember the exact details. I don't know if it is supposed to be Jefferson.

When you first get to the Dark Room, there's some whiskey and a newspaper near the couch. In the principals office you can find some hidden whiskey behind a bookcase, and the bottles looked similar to me. Assuming Jefferson is the 1 who actually drugged Kate, it makes the argument that Jefferson and the principal are having (which you can't hear) at the end of Ep 2 more suspicious imo.

Absolutely. I had him pegged as the big bad before the Jefferson reveal. It would also explain how the hell the Vortex Club party bullshit is still allowed to go on.

Yes, we do see a glass of whiskey, which we know for a fact that Wells drinks, and rather heavily at that. We see him drinking from a similar tumbler in the cutscene at the end of episode...2, I think? And then of course we see him wasted in episode 3. The placement of the tumbler in the dark room probably isn't a coincidence. We don't know if Jefferson drinks, but he strikes me as the cold clinical type that likes to keep a clear head when he does his work.

Shiiet. That's damn good. Gonna save it up for some wallpaper or something. It looked like a photo at first.

This shit is the GOTY and it's not even a contest
Episode 5 could literally just be 3 hours of a black screen and it still wins for me

No kidding, I thought this was going to be a sleeper hit, but I'm glad to see it fare well!

Alright whew, finished episode 2. Gonna stop for a bit since I don't want to blaze through the next 2 episodes and be stuck waiting forever for episode 5 to come out.

Episode 2 spoilers ahoy

I managed to save Kate the first time wooooo. I had a feeling Kate was suicidal from the very beginning so I made sure to always help her out when I could, glad it paid off. Intervened between her and david, told her to call the cops, found picture of her dad, and answered her call.

Kinda panicked when I had to save Chloe from the train and ended up destroying the switching gear thing. Even before I realized a train I was coming, I was yelling at the screen "why the fuck would you lie down in train tracks!?"

Bought the game based on the good buzz and just finished episode 1. Man the dialogue is hella cringey. Flew through the episode not realising there's some
bird that can die (?), pregnancy tests, portraits or anything
. Really surprised me at the end because I felt like I took my time to explore but apparently not. Anyway I like adventure games but not feeling the hype at all after episode 1 I really hope that changes as I go through the rest. Does the dialogue get any better?

It's never perfect and there are at least a couple of terrible lines in each episode, but it does get considerably better, particularly in episodes 3 and 4.

I suppose that not having grown in the USA has helped me with the dialogue because I haven't found a flaw in it. Has to be cultural differences, I guess? Or maybe I just find the world too endearing.

No but the soundtrack is great!

It's bloody amazing. There are some other great aspects too! I found the art design to be top notch, and some (emphasis on some) of the presentation of the story is great, it's a shame it doesn't all come together as expected, but it's a good game, not great, not bad, but good.

Finally got around to playing this yesterday.. blazed through the first 3 ep's most of Saturday and spent this evening finishing up Season 4..

Hoooolyyyy shittttt.

incredibly strong GOTY contender for me. absolutely in love with the world, the atmosphere, the mystery, the charm (OMG ALL THE CHARM)..

the voice acting is top notch, the characters are so well realized, and the plot paces itself really nicely. i absolutely adore this game and can't wait for ep.5. :)

spoiliery speculation about the story:

I may be alone in this but.. Bits and pieces of the story, world, and atmosphere have given me a Lovecraftian vibe, to be honest. Not to the extent of like.. Cthulhu or something, but the more I learn about the disturbing, dark nature of the Prescott's and the spiraling chaos of Arcadia itself, I can't help but sense at least a subtle to nod to Lovecraftian despair. Especially in relation to how dark the plot gets as the player continues to learn how the tendrils of Prescott are wrapped around all the major players.

That being said, the evil of humanity is just as prevalent here as anything else, and I know it's a story that's very focused on the character's relationships with one another. So if the story were to end up being more grounded in reality with Max's powers being the only supernatural force at work, or at least the main crux of it all, I wouldn't mind it one bit.

Yeah, the general setting is pretty interesting and is something I would like to spend more time in exploring. From watching some of the behind the scenes footage it seems like the bit off more then they could chew & weren't really sure how to make their game work.

Episode 3

WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING!?

I can change the past? But I see Max fucking with time is causing all sorts of wrong shit to happen. I bet Chloe/Max needs to die in the bathroom scene in order to save Arcadia Bay or something dumb like that.

Seeing what happened to Chloe at the end though god damn...

Finished Episode 3.

My thoughts:

Ending was unexpected, and I was actually kinda pissed because it pretty makes all my previous choices moot. I assume this will get reversed quickly.

Also the farther I get in the game the more I realize how shitty a person Chloe is.

I think David Madsen is a red herring too, pretty sure he's just fucked up from the war and his creepiness is just overreaction on his part.

Finished episode 4 a couple of days ago.

Yoooooo, like bruh.

First, hey wanna assist you best friend in suicide? Go ahead, decide. At least you go back to the "real" time line, which i suspected to happen at the end of three. Sooo, all is good again? lol no. Killing frank at first, rewind and everything went fine. Finding that torture/perv bunker. Was expecting to find Rachel in there.

Good, she ain´t there, well fuck you because she´s buried and dead.

After the vortex party, i was like, yeah let´s kill Nathan, little cunt. And then the needle and headshot to Chloe by Mr. Jefferson. I actually threw my hands in the air and yelled "what the fuck". Aggghhh.

Theory on Episode 5:
I don´t know how Max will get out of the dungeon, but i bet she´ll use the picture that Warren took to go back in time again and rescue the day. Right? Guys? pls.

Still in episode 1, the game makes me feel like I made all the wrong decisions already. :(

There's no right or wrong. Just play, accept the consequences, and move forward - just like real life.

Yeah I'm definitely sticking with my choices and just continue. I am already excited for my second playthrough to see how different it's going to be with different choices.

I gave water to a tree, and opened a window to save a bird and it said those small things will have consequences O_O

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE END OF EPISODE 2

There's one thing in particular that instantly made me completely infatuated with this game.

Yes, you can save Kate. But in order to do so, you had to have paid attention to her life. It doesn't give you any hints, any clues--in a way, it's a question of how much you were roleplaying. Did you actually care about Kate? Did you take the time to get to know her, to a degree that not only did you look into her family life, but were interested enough in it that you remembered? It's an almost forth-wall breaking thing, and really drives home the emotion of the scene. I had such a sense of panic going through me during that scene, and it was the exact same panic that Max felt. The fear that I didn't get to know her well enough, that I wasn't a good enough friend to save her.

Some slightly awkward dialogue aside, I still think that's the most impressive moment in the game.

Love your description of the scene, I completely agree. Not something you see in games very frequently.

Spoiler:
Thank God for her sisters.
