Arcana Heart is totally hype. I'd love to see it on stage at Evo, though it'll never happen.

It was at animEVO this year. Grand Finals was Dorothy vs Lieselotte and her doll (works like Guilty Gear Eddie/Jojo Stand stuff)

Linky

I watched it streamed EVO weekend and it was what made me pick up the game. Completely blew my mind once I started playing and reading the guide and ever so important Complete Arcana and character breakdowns.

Oh, might check out Xblaze Code Embryo. is it any good?

Also, how's the Lost Memories? Do you need to play the first game for that?

Mercenary Kings, which I missed as a PS+ game, is seemingly the only thing I don't have that I'm interested in. The rest were obtained via PS+, or simply do nothing for me.

It was the single worst game I played n 2014. I would not recommend it.

Might get walking dead season 2, if it is cheap enough I enjoyed the first season, but after the wolf among us not sure it could live up to that experience.

If you haven't played Rogue Legacy, I've spent my last 4 hours playing it nonstop. Excellent game. I'm having difficulties getting my cross-save to work for some reason, but the last time I played it, it didn't have any problems.

EDIT: One of these days, Persona 3 Portable will go on sale, And then I'll pick it up.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Is Syberia 1 and 2 any good? I'm looking for old-school PnC games.

Hmm...it used to go on sale all the time. For $20, it's worth it. For $10, it's a no-brainer.

I guess I'll finally pick up Mercenary Kinds since the Vita version seems dead.
It doesn't play as much like Metal Slug as it looks like it does.

It's more like a sidescrolling Monster Hunter.

I played 2 hours of it on Steam when it was in Early Access, when everyone still had a positive impression of it purely based on the art-style, surface level Metal Slug similarities, and being a follow-up to that very good Scott Pilgrim game. When it rolled around on PS+ I didn't even bother to download it.

It's just not fun. Only reason I played 2 hours was because it looked like something that could be really good, there was a decent amount of hype and positive word-of-mouth. It seemed like a game that deserved a chance, even if it was immediately off-putting. I spent that entire time looking for some kind of redeeming value and found none. I put in the time so you don't have to.

It's conceptually flawed. The Monster Hunter style doesn't transition well to 2D, just play Monster Hunter if you want to play Monster Hunter.

I don't know who exactly thought taking the fast-paced and exhilarating sidescrolling action of Metal Slug, making it not fast-paced or exhilarating at all and then bogging it down even further with repetitive, tedious grinding and progress gating was a good idea, but they were smokin' crack.

.

This sums up my feelings on it.

Got it on PS+, was excited for it. Got bored after a few times trying to play it. Far too slow and grindy for a game that's supposed to be a 2D side-scrolling shooter.

Mercenary Kings does indeed seem like a fall from grace over Metal Slug. It feels tired of itself and the creation of the game period is more interesting than the actual flow of the game. Metal Slug has so much thought, time, and hard work put into it. I see how they keep putting out titles to push side scrollers and various shooters in the market, but call me unimpressed 80% of the time. Sure, some of the games are very well done. Spelunky and Crypt of the Necrodancer are unique titles, but they don't hold my interest after 30 minutes. I go back to Metal Slug or something I'm familiar with and I find myself wanting to go back. Maybe I'm looking at everything with tunnel vision, but I can honestly say I've not tried out every single game I have from Plus or a Flash sale. I didn't mind a few I've gotten. I'm more of a classics person myself.

Aaru’s Awakening, I have that, but I've never downloaded it. I don't feel like going back to when I first started buying everything on Steam sales. There are a few good games on that list, but I've owned/played the ones I'm interested in already.

Vita didn't have a good sale today when I went on. All of it is Tom Clancy PSP games. I'm sorry if I laugh a little at it. I don't normally play the counter port on a handheld unless it's a full version. Last time I played a port that was on handheld as well was Manhunt 2.

I owned Arcana Hearts 2 on PS2 back when it originally came out. You can go extremely high in the air and combos can link for quite a good amount of time. I just can't get into it. It's too cliche for me. I enjoy PS2 fighting games like Hokuto No Ken, Basara X Cross, and Melty Blood. That's about where I draw the line. There's probably some good fighters that didn't get over to the US, so I'll be looking back in time instead of forward for a while.

Is outlast good
You walk around in the dark, occasionally holding up your video camera to use the night-vision. The gameplay consists of managing your batteries and getting the shit scared out of you.

It's a hard game to say it's "good" or not, I would say that it is effective.

Oh and Resident Evil 5 looks like a good game for coop and the last good RE. I hope it's cheap.

RE5 is a good co-op game, but it isn't the last good RE. RE6 is actually very good, don't let the ridiculous reviews and popular opinion sway you, it is just as fun of a co-op game as RE5, better if you prefer co-op games to be longer (RE6 is over twice the length as 5, but that can be a negative for some, it definitely is a bloated campaign).

RE6 mercenaries is a blast to play as well with a friend as soon as you learn the rather robust control scheme.

I bought it for PC a while back. Do you like Amnesia? IMO you should load up Condemned 1 or 2 instead. Unless you've already played those and want another game. It's popularity probably got Outlast where it's at. To me, Condemned had more going for it.

I didn't really play Amnesia for very long and I own both of the games. I'm not quite sure why. I just didn't get the feel of it. I want to shoot and do all kinds of stuff instead. Outlast I shut off after a while. I've never gone back. I am kinda indecisive at the moment. I want something that I can grab a hold of and something I remember or want to experience. The walking and moving to me was found elsewhere. The horror aspect might get you, but that's up to your tastes.

Condemned 2 probably did more for the horror FPS genre than the last 5 years of experiencing what the dark can do to someone. I give game(s) credit for their style, genre, and lots of other qualities. I'm just not amazed if you sit me in a room with a flashlight and tell me nothing more than check this and check that. It's like how the Half-Life 2 Lost Coast was. It's something to admire, but you can probably live without it. Unlike the game itself, well that's totally different.

To me, YouTube and Twitch stars get more out of Outlast than a normal gamer does.

This is what it looks like when you go ham with Dorothy after equipping the Wind Arcana for extra air actions and activating your Extend Force (Xfactor) to gain air dash cancels to essentially do a morrigan soulfist thing while also doing an Arcana Super to fire multiple projectiles whilst still enjoying Dorothy's already great projectile pressure and trap cards.

I don't remember the background characters being animated in the Vita version, is that just in the PS3 edition?

I don't know how people find Amnesia scary after the first time you let the monster touch you and realize that... nothing happens.

Like, yeah, I'll give you the reactions to the infamous "water" part are deserved, but the rest of the game is wandering through hallways as a fearless Superman.

hmm I don't even know how I got it on Steam (probably a bundle), but only played it for like 2 minutes to make sure it ran.

If it's cheap enough I might still get it. I kinda like stupid grindy crap that other people hate, but thanks for the warning.

OK so how long is it? I'm intrigued about shitting my pants.

It's a couple hours and it's really easy. The AI is super dumb which kind of makes the whole thing way less scary because beyond the jump scares the games only way to build tension is by having you hide from the baddies... Didn't play the expansion because the first game was dull in between expected jump scares.

It was the demo that turned me off. I remember kicking zombies for half of it. The reviews definitely didn't help though.

Keep on demanding it through different reps on chat support. I ordered something by accident once and got a refund. They told me that that was the only refund that I'll ever get.

sounds like poor advice if he ever actually needs a refund for a more legitimate reason
