going for a weekend trip tomorrow and decided to dust off my vita and take it along with me, went into the store and i'm really tempted to pick up helldivers, looks fun and had great reviews but i can't help shaking the feeling that it will soon be on instant game collection

Did you find a physical Vita copy of Helldivers?

Probably talking about the PS4 version that has a Vita code.

As a Helldiver fan, I wouldn't play the Vita version but some people are ok with it. Just doesn't work as well as the PS4 version.

yes, i meant the ps4 version with the vita code. can you elaborate on "doesn't work as well as the PS4 version", please?

Yeah, I don't like VNs. I do like the 'look' of the combat, but I simply haven't researched it enough to know if it's my thing. I had it preordered but cancelled since it was between Operation Abyss and DT2.

Ah, if you don't like military you won't like B&C I guess.... that's the draw, in a way... a military version of something along the lines of frozen synapse [which is also military-ish, just abstracted]. I process all that stuff as 'skins'... it could be animals or aliens or cowboys or anime teens, so whichever the dev settled on doesn't really affect me.

I think you should buy TTG if you have the money (I think that the game lets you skip through the text pretty fast).

Are the bad guys in B&C varied (I saw a quick look and they all seemed to have the same ethnicity, which left a bad taste in my mouth)?

As I find it more and more important, I find it strange that the "theme" of a game is absent in most/all game critique.

From what I've seen "theme" is it's own category when you are reviewing a board game. How come this isn't applied to digital games (to be clear they look at the theme in relation to the games mechanics, not based on pure esthetics).

I don't know a lot about Net High's gameplay, but the idea of a game that takes place on forums and other social media in a dystopian future, where your popularity and number of digital followers decides your social status in the physical society (real world), sounds like a fantastic premise.

Another game that I think has a very interesting theme is Horizon's post post apocalyptic world, as I can write myself into it's history even though I won't be in the game.

Well it's uglier (obviously), and there are small instances of frame rate issues on Vita - but I didn't even notice or care when I was playing it. It's good enough to enjoy on Vita for sure.

Has the YouTube upload feature on PS3 games been disabled, or is there something I need to change with the YouTube settings? Whenever I go to upload a replay (I've tried Capcom Arcade Cabinet, Stranger's Wrath, and SARPBC), it just says that the operation is not available or something along those lines.

uh, I guess they're random, yeah, but whenever a sale is gonna happen the PS blog usually tells you what games are on sale, if they have a PS+ discount, etc, and if it's big enough there'll be a thread about it on NeoGAF

Well even offline modes requires you to be online so you should have a good internet connection. Standby mode sets you back to the title screen everytime. Lots of touch screen stuff to get stuff going. There are better games more suited for the Vita than Helldivers.

You can just turn off Wi-Fi and the game won't bug you.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!

You would get more play time out of One Piece, just if you go using all the characters and whatnots. Only problem is depends on what your tolerance for constantly smashing the square and triangle buttons are.

RE games in general are one and done unless you are trophy hunting.

Two new themes came out in Japan today and they're based on the Japanese anime series Wooser's Hand-to-Mouth Life. What makes them remarkable? Well, see for yourself:

They're the first PS Vita system themes that have changed the notification bubble and page guide.

For more info on the themes themselves, check out the Japanese PlayStation blog.

well, I mean, 99% of the game the units are small [like in frozen synapse]... you only really 'see' them with the very final kill shot in a mission, where you get a sort of quick first person view.

The seven 'environments' are: Afghanistan, Turkey, China, Mexico, Russia, Germany, Columbia and the enemies look different in each. But again, it's not really particularly detailed views of enemies except for the final shot in any mission.

If a slightly more 'realistic looking' FS:T doesn't appeal to you, skip it.

It'll probably eventually be on ps+, but I doubt anytime soon. Didn't they just release an ultimate edition?

Today I discovered an extremely bizzare quirk my Vita has. If I turn it off while it has headphones plugged in, the next time I turn it on it won't recognize the MC unless I remove it and put it back 3 times in again.

Mastercube PS4 - This is a no feature barebones twin stick shooter that is $6 for a tech demo.

Giana Sisters Dream Runners PS4 - This is multiplayer 2D speed running game that is really boring.

Pure Hold’em PS4 - Really good poker game but expensive at $20. I find it worth it.

Nova-111 PS4 - Not really a rougelike or a turn based strategy but more of a puzzle game. I am about 4 hours in and it is only now starting to get interesting. Little too simple and easy so far. Way too buggy as you can see my video ends in a hard crash. The PS+ discount will expire soon but I would wait until a deep discount and patches to fix it. My disappointment of the year so far.

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour PS4 - It is a mediocre to poor golf game.

Ok, some questions:

1) Is it against AI or against other players or both? If there is AI, is it as trash as most poker AI is?

2) Are animations skippable? That is, can expert players play super fast as they might on a gambling site?

3) Do you have remote play? How is it if so?

Trying to figure out a reason to play [fake] poker on my ps4 rather than on PC. Vita is a decent reason to make the switch, but dammit, it's not on vita.

Baekshi lives on in my heart. He's the hero PS4 owners don't deserve, shaming lazy devs in to porting their games to PS4, citing "those vita guys are crazy".

I...I think my Vita finally ran out of standy juice. Doesn't last quite as long as a Kindle, but close enough. Next game I play is the first of Steins;Gate or D:AE to go on sale.

Im thinking on buying the capcom arcade cabinet , it comes with 17 arcade games. Is it worthy of my money? It is right now at 12 bucks price wise

Hm, I don't have it but I looked it up quickly, and the user scores seem quite low on Metacritic (4.7)but there's only one written review

I know it has extra content and this are the arcade versions of some of my chilhood favorites. It has ghost n goblins! The thing is with 17 games from capcom and arcade its really tempting. I would paying less than a dollar per game. Im also curious about vvvvv is it any good?

well, i mean, if you love enough of the games in question then sure, it's a steal. I'm sure I dropped $12 in quarters in gunsmoke alone, let alone 1942/3, g'n'g, etc.

Anyone else ever have the problem where the PS Store just stops accepting your card details, on console and on the web shop? Won't even accept my paypal, which is absurd. Crazy because the same card always used to work. I've tried reentering the address so many times, looked up my bank account statement and everything.

I thought it might be because I'm living in a different country from the one where my account (and credit card) are based, but even a VPN doesn't help. Looking online it seems tons of people have had this exact same problem but I don't see any solutions. Can anyone help? I desperately need to be able to get MGSV for preloading as my internet is crazy slow. It's also hard to find Irish PSN cards online to buy, so I don't know if that's an option.

Gah.

Want to buy Journey and DriveClub while I'm at it, too. Sony, why the hell won't you take my money?!?

What error are you getting? Sony might have locked down your account for 24 hours or more.

A lot of developers seem to agree on the Vita not having enough RAM:|

Mmm...I'm not calling bullshit but I'm not buying it either

iPhone 6 has 1 gb of ram, Vita has 512 mb of ram. And I don't think Vita OS is taking more resources than iOS 8.

Unless they're releasing it for a top-tier iPads only

But honestly, I think the fact that the iOS port being funded externally is the main reason.

The AI is super conservative so AI tournaments games go on forever. Don't buy to play the AI. AI only shows up online when open tables get sparse.

No skipping animations but it is fast enough. When you play AI there is no skipping to your turn.

I play remote play on Vita all of the time while watching sports and it works great. I want a native Vita version.

Thought the guys in here might enjoy this, Toukiden series is being expanded in future.

Guess a sequel is already in the works (though that's no surprise, iirc the original was a surprise hit for Koei Tecmo).

Can't see them dropping Vita, wonder if they're going to try PS4 again though, doesn't seem to be too hot a market for them for this series.

I'll take more Toukiden, thank you. Hope they drop the PSP now.

We never got info on how the ps4 version fared on the west, aye?

Someone on Twitter, "Freedom Wars Online" organized Operation White Tiger today, setting up multiple high-level Freedom Wars rooms. It's been awesome! Love this game. Still. Needs a sequel.
