I agree that it tastes better, but I get sick of it's sweetness really fast.

hat's issue with s'mores.. it's super sweet. I'm a choco chip cookie dough fan myself.

In other news, Fnished my summer cut a couple weeks ago. Got down to 196. goal was actually just 200. Pretty happy with the results.

You and me both! Thanks!

As I've said before, your videos motivate me to push, so keep uploading them.

On the same topic, my wife was on my phone's youtube last night trying to find an Elmo video that the baby loves and she said "wow, people can lift THAT much" to which I said "Huh?" and she said "your friend Wayne's deadlift video" LOL...

Well, based on the amount of chest hair and redness on Brolic's face, I guess you can say she found an Elmo video.

Not doing too much, but comfortly fitting into pants that were _clearly_ too tight when I bought them about a month ago after some months of casual gym and biking feels so good.

Just wait until they casually slide down your thighs because you're not wearing a belt. /fml

I've had to throw out a bunch of shorts. No loops and they just drop off me now.

I'm sure I'll put on a bunch around my waist, but if I put on enough to use them again I've probably gone too far with the bulking.

Great day at the gym again. Bench with 5x180, 3x200 and 1x225. Weighed in at 225.6 this morning so nice to already be back to benching my own body weight. Finished off with 10x155. Didn't need to use leg drive at any point, just chest/arms for every rep. Feels like my bench is getting pretty good.

That's it for 1s week. Deload next week then all new session begins.

I didn't know GAF had a fitness OT!

Might as well come here for more help. I lost almost 50 lbs since March but I'm having trouble with this last bit.

I'm 5'7" and started at 196 and am now around 150, which was my original goal, but now I want to lose my belly.

Should I just continue what I've been doing? (MyFitnessPal to count calories and going ot the gym 3-4 days a week)

i've gone from a size 54 pant and 4xl shirt to a size 32/34 pant and a large shirt..
I've gotten rid of my fair share of clothes...

Just expect the last several pounds to leave the slowest, in my experience.

My girlfriend is scared of Brolic for some reason when I showed her that video. I assured her that he's probably a really buff teddy bear in person

He could probably lift anywhere from 4-6 of your girlfriend. She should be scared.

There, I fixed it for you.

You guys are killing me, lol.

There are two types of size 31/30 jeans: ones that fit my ass and thighs and ones that don't. Waist fits fine.

Is this what success feels like?

Best brand of jeans for the squat inclined?

Oddly, even with all the squatting and lower body work I still have basically no ass.

Mine was low tier for a long time, but as a get leaner, its taking shape finally. Still nothing impressive, especially when armenians are known for huge asses genetically, i'm bottom of the tent pole on that one.

Wasn't planning on eating again today, but we had some left over chicken thigh meat, so i made buffalo chicken with mex cheese and ranch just so it doesn't go to waste. Doubt it would have made it another day. Growing up omega poverty, i hate seeing food go to waste.

Going to the gym for the first time tomorrow! Kinda nervous to be honest.

We all start somewhere. My first month or so at the gym was 5lb dumbbells. Now a lot heavier. Just get in there and do what you want to do, most people there are just trying to do their thing and get out.

Looking for some suggestions.

I am around 213 looking to get back down to 195. I am looking to start Insanity again (got great results with it the first time). I am prior military and I have a really bad lower back which has worsened due to the increased weight. It makes for completing a movement heavy workout with Insanity almost unbearable. I have a workout room with assorted dumbbells but was curious if there are good workouts I need to do to strengthen my lower back? Maybe I should do core stuff?

Haven't been in this position before where I didn't feel comfortable working out because my back is in so much pain.

Levi's 541 athletic fit jeans? I just bought a pair, they are pretty nice.

Have you adjusted your caloric intake since starting? You've lost so much that you probably need to either a) eat a little less to get the weight loss going again or b) exercise more or c) both. This is because at a lighterbodyweight your body doesn't need as many calories as it did before. Also metabolic rate lowers when dieting. As long as you don't do anything too drastic. Increase/decrease just a bit at a time.

I wanted to dominate the living room. Then I took an ESRAM in the knee.

In case you might think that everybody's looking at you: nobody does and nobody cares. Have fun! And whatever you do, it'll get easier after about two weeks.

If you have a prior condition, I think you should avoid heavy weight and / or see a doctor to avoid further injury. Good mornings are an excellent way to strengthen that part of your back, but just as good of a way to hurt yourself if you have a problem, you know?

Love this answer. I preach this a ton. Also, don't be afraid to ask for help...90% of people at the gym will be glad to give you pointers.

This is very true. We're all there for the same reason. When I stepped in the gym almost 7 years ago there were a few guys who taught me a lot. Once I got pretty fit they told me to make sure I pay it forward and help others like they helped me. Since then, that's always been my outlook.

Agreed. I've taken advice and given advice and feel incredibly comfortable working out in public now. It takes time, sure, but don't think people go to the gym to make fun of the new lifters.

Are Snap Fitness gyms any good? They all seem to vary in price.

Do you think any gym will have a barbell set, bench press, and pull up bar along with free weights? I would think those would be essential but what do I know?

Finally broke bicep plateau. Those preacher curl drop sets finally paid off. Still going to keep doing them though, arms feel like they want to explode afterwards.

I think there are some gyms like Planet Fitness that will not have full dumbbell sets or racks. You can reasonably quickly get past a 60lb dumbbell on certain exercises.

The right thing to do is either check via gym website/ call on phone / make a visit. They want yo money, you want their iron.

Has anybody here followed John Meadows programs or maybe been a client of his? I want to change things up and ive really enjoyed his write ups. Im just unsure how his style of working out works for a natty.

Okay, thank you! I called like 3 gyms and no one answered at each : \ . During business hours, too. Weird.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked up the exercise and will try going a step down with that and start doing supermans. I think I just need to get back down an an acceptable weight.

Gains setback. Didn't eat, drink or sleep enough yesterday and it showed. Probably going to reset DB bench when I was oh so close to 90s.

Too much of the ladies, I make bad fitness decisions.

It's my wife's birthday on Tuesday so we've been spending the day together.

I started off by giving her lulu lemon pants (omg 71.00 for pants) and then did yoga on the rooftop of our local whole foods. I stood out but I rocked the squat position move.

Then I took her to get new running shoes and got a pair myself. We ran a 5k (she slowed down for me) and I finished in 36 minutes. Not terrible for basically never running!!

Now it's off to our favorite sushi place. I hope she can top this for my birthday in October. Maybe a trip to iron sport? Lol

How hard do you all think it would be for me to lose 20-30lbs before Thanksgiving? I currently weigh in around 245-247 at the moment.

Not enough info.

If you're 4'10" easy. If you're 7'2" hard as hell. Also have no idea about body comp or your ability to not shovel pie into your face and actually do some physical exertion.

Drop sets are Godly for biceps (shrugs as well)

:takes notes:

I have been adding drop sets for more things that I am currently progressing poorly on like triceps and squats. Between all the popular programs the way to break plateaus is to add volume, so drop sets does it for me

Although I need to start recommitting to eating more. The net effect of doing this for 8 weeks now has been -1 lbs. That will probably help.

5' 8"

The majority of that weight is fat.

Lol, I can resist pastries fairly well, but I do have bagels from time to time. It's a once in a while thing when it comes to eating sugary things.

I go to the gym 4-5 times a week, and that's doing a mix of high resistance cardio and weight lifting.

Lulu shit ain't cheap but women love it. I don't remember the last time I ran 5K, wonder how long it would take me

ehhhhhh hard to say. For most people it would be pretty hard. 3 months of exercising and eating well would do some read good though, especially if your a beginner

I think I might have been cutting too long. Between that and some real life issues I'm having I'm getting really burned out. Finished my workout and couldn't get up off the sofa, just no energy at all. In half an hour I've got another really hard turbo trainer session and I just can't be fucked with any of it.
