Every time something is announced about CAVE stuff I dive in expecting the games to finally land on PSsomething. And everytime I leave disappointed. Is there STILL some reason I don't understand for them not to port their stuff over to PS4, given the ease of development and small pub/dev support shown by the 3rd party people like Shahid?
Why not just buy the games on PC? It's not like there will be a physical release either way, the games should easily run on any mediocre laptop or desktop bought in the last 5 years and the PC natively supports a lot more peripherals.

Just when my monitor develops a short whenever I move it, but especially when I try to shift into portrait.

I'm going to RMA, but only after MGSV.

Why do that when I can just port beg indefinitely?

CAVE doesn't port their games to anything anymore and this new PC initiative is only happening because someone else is paying for it, more or less.

They kept away from PS3 in the past because Sony made some statements early in the PS3's life that upset some people and because MS was very accommodating and eager to take their games.

Not a PC player. And I have some remaining sliver of hope for a phisical jap edition to add to my beloved collection, since I missed many X360 titles.

EDIT:

That's basically why I hoped it was the right time. As I said, nowadays Sony seems to have the kind of attitude toward this kind of project that would make it possible.

I guess I can still look forward to Ubusana and the new Darius : (

This is great news. I'm sure there's some downside somewhere, like some people pointing out about innacuracies, and PCB master race and all.. but this is really a long time coming. I just want to know will we get some of the games that Cave/Atlus did like ESP Ra.De. ? I really want a proper home port of that game.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
Okay, now real talk: I'm in if these are better than the 360 releases. And by that, I primarily mean that it's not just a quick and dirty "here's MAME and a rom for $10" releases. I want the 360-exclusive modes, the Cave Matsuri modes, etc. All that good stuff. Do that, and I'll seriously pay whatever the hell they want. All I care about is getting a good product.

I've paid an awful lot for Cave games in the past, so as long as this is a quality product, whatever they charge is kind of a bargain to me.

I doubt that, now that Atlus is owned by Sega, which is owned by Sammy... It would be a nightmare to get the rights for that and I doubt that it would make any sense, financially speaking, to port them.

they're going to release Bug Panic with no fanfare, not tell anyone when it's coming out, then surprise release it Fall 2016 on the busiest release day of the season, then not release any more games due to lack of sales/perceived lack of interest, then finally go under as a company.

Great news. Hopefully it's all of the 360 titles and not just the ones that were released in the west because I see no point in rebuying.

I've played early Destiny, I know a lot about shooting in(to) caves.

(Sorry.)

Good job taking the high road with that one.

This announcement makes me pretty happy. My Cave games on 360 are the only thing I keep the system around for, now. If all of them get ported, which seems likely given the ease of porting 360 games to PC, it might be the final nail in the proverbial coffin.

CAVE doesn't really have a sales mandate here. They're licensing their games to another publisher and that publisher is paying them to do the port, it's incredibly low-risk and that's why it's happening to begin with.

The publisher was pleased with the sales of their other shmups and any CAVE game they release will do at least as well as those did, so I think they'll be fine.

I've got most of the arcade hardware route before- I jam on the 360 ports more often because of all the extra modes when initially I only got them to practice when I wasn't at home. If the price is right for the "mame rom" route, I'll bite. If they're closer to the 360 ports-holy cow that'd be great :) This news has me excited though (this and Darius Burst). Hopefully more people get to play these games and the reviews aren't a ton of "but you can beat it in 25 minutes" bs. Fingers crossed that someday a shooter renaissance comes about.

There are no decent SHMUP machines nearby, so this is amazing news to me.

This news was such a nice surprise. Just a few days ago I was wondering why Cave's shooters had not been ported to pc yet.

Also just realized that this could be the first really great home release of stuff like Dodonpachi and Ibara.

Dodonpachi never got a good port. Even the one that you unlock after playing through that stupid VN Instabrain game apparently wasn't that good. And the Saturn and PS1 versions had issues. We could finally remedy this, 20 years later!

Provided they aren't priced outrageously, will buy most of their games. I just hope they'll provide a decent selection.

*starts chanting Deathsmiles over and over again*

Seriously, I spent a fortune on a JP 360 just so I could play Deathsmiles IIX, I'd love to have access to both of them on my PC.

LOL, guys, please, hold your dicks.

Degica is probably just testing the waters. We don't know how much CAVE is charging for the ports. I'm guessing it will be either Futari or DS, and from there, depending on the success, we will be either getting one game at a time or none at all.

No way in hell they will start with stuff like Ibara Kuro or a whole collection, lol.

I have no problems paying full price for their games on Steam. Even tho I have most of them on 360, I'm ready to give them my money. CAVE is just outstanding, imo. They make the best shmups, and I LOVE shmups!

Nobody's asking for a whole collection. I think the people who were clammoring for Cave ports in the first place are more than happy to just have good ports trickle over to the PC rather than getting all the stuff at once, or starting with the obscure stuff.

And seriously, who's going to complain about getting Futari?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I've been waiting for this day folks! Waiting a long time! Only thing left is for Treasure to put Radiant Silvergun on there and then my life will be complete.

You're right, my bad. I'm just so happy, my reading comprehension is failing! :3

Not me! Oh boy, I'm sooooo happy! I bought the 360 just to play this game back then.

The people that work at Degica are some genuinely swell people to talk to. So glad that they are the ones to get their hands on this. It seriously couldn't be worked on by better people.
