Hyrule Warriors coming to 3DS

I share the same opinion as him.

I have a New XL and a New Regular. I don't want my consoles to be held back by the older models.

More exclusives like Xenoblade 3D, please.

That's fine. But most 3ds owners are not N3ds owners so it makes sense for this to be for the 3ds and not N3ds exclusive. "Boo hoo" is not a convincing argument. Whether from the perspective of the majority of 3ds owners who won't be swayed to upgrade by this port being N3ds exclusive or from Nintendo's perspective of wanting to maximize profits from this port, it makes more sense that Hyrule Warriors 3d be for the entire 3ds hardware family than not.

Haha that would be sooo stupid.

It's a fake, but not exactly a huge stretch...

Lost World got a DLC stage themed around Zelda, complete with Sonic in Hero garb.

Why should people buy a whole new system that's nothing more then a minor upgrade just so they can play one game?

This is exactly why we need more high profile games exclusively on N3DS. Bring on Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime Trilogy ports and new IP exclusives (not that I expect new, exclusive IPs, I'm much more confident about ports).

Hopefully Nintendo will announce something big for N3DS at the digital event.

before the patches.
I was playing it since launch, before all the big patches happened.
Still didn't notice any frame rate issues.

Also whats the point of comparing the 3DS version to the Wii U version BEFORE patches? surely with the 3DS version being released afterwards, and after all the patches they will have optimized it better.

There wasn't any big frame rate issue even at launch. It did dip sometimes but it was quite rare tbh and not noticeable unless you pay attention.

I was just pointing out what he meant by frame rate in Wii U version.

But agree, to use that as a basis for how the 3DS port will run isn't right. We don't know how it'll run yet. Obviously they'll lessen the amount of enemies on screen which will help + Koei's other 3DS games actually run quite well.

Why do people want games to not be N3DS exclusive? Why gimp these games when they can run better on the new hardware?

Because I own a 3DS already, and I like the model I have.

Im not going to upgrade it for 1 or 2 games. If they announced 10 amazing must have games for n3DS of course i would upgrade. But sorry I already have Xenoblade on the Wii.

Im not going to upgrade my 3DS for a couple games, look what happened with the DSi. How many exclusive games did it have, and which ones were actually good? Exactly.

I wonder...

Will we have a new WW-inspired Adventure Map? Perhaps one modeled after the Great Sea Chart?

And chances of a Wind Waker level? Was super disappointed we never got ONE new level from the DLC, would've loved a Clock Town + Termina Field in the Majora's Mask pack.

And if we do get a WW level, what would be a good choice? Forsaken Fortress or Windfall would be pretty neat, imo.

There's gotta be new levels if we're getting a remix of Wind Waker's title theme. I'm hoping we get the DLC characters properly integrated into the game.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

define "terrible"

The game ran perfectly fine for me for the 400+ hours I spent on it. I literally have no idea where the frame rate comments come from.
I want this version you were playing that didn't have noticeable dips in certain parts

With this and Tingle I think it's fair to say that Twili Midna will probably be available too.

i thought they said all DLC characters in the direct today

buying the shit out of this
Oh they did? my stream cut out during the Triforce heroes thing and came back on just as they were finishing talking about Hyrule Warriors and cutting to the trailer, so I must have missed it.

I gotta wonder though, why would you spend money on the DLC for the Wii U Version if you haven't yet with this coming soon?

I ask because I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I have an urge to replay the Wii U Version and want to get the DLC.

Character variety, more maps. If you just like the base game though, then more power to you.

Did the specify if the WW characters will be available to the WiiU version as a separate purchase. Even if the 3DS version has new stages I'm not sure if I wanna go through playing through everything again.

Anyone else find it wierd that a 3DS version will be the definitive version of a WiiU game?

I'm legitimately anticipating this, because I enjoyed HW, but the insane amount of DLC being released was really irritating me and de-motivating me from playing the game anymore. This is the perfect solution... still wierd that this basically invalidates a complete re-release for WiiU.

Am I wrong, or is the Chronicles-style character switching exclusive to the 3DS version? Do you think they might take other elements of Chronicles like the rapid-fire optional missions?

I think it makes sense in a way. It might make the game a lot more attractive to the Japanese audience, who are the ones who buy the usual Musou games.

Did they actually confirm character switching, or are you still referring to the trailer which just showed new characters?

The trailer had a segment where the player tapped on the faces of other characters on the lower screen, switching to control that character. So it looks like character switching is in.

There was a point where the bottom screen displayed a Chronicles arrangement (map in the center, characters around). A stylus clicked Impa and switched to her. I don't think that's a hard confirmation, but it looked exactly like that mechanic.

The leaked japanese trailer seemed to imply you could bring the new characters over to the Wii U version. But they didn't talk about that in the English one. :(

Cross-save would turn this from a maybe to a definite buy for me. I love Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U, but there's so much content, I doubt I'll ever completely finish it. There are simply too many missions and characters to level up to 100. The last thing I need is to be starting from scratch, and then juggling two versions.

Cross-save would make everything so much more convenient.

I'd actually rather see cross-save than new characters, stages, etc.

Totally agreed.
I played the Wii U version for around 450 hours and I still haven't beaten everything. Cross-Save would make this an instant buy for me.

So, this will be the Wii U version, down scaled in graphics and enemy amount, but with all the dlc the Wii U had and a few extras? Good for anyone who hasn't played the game.

But as i'm not going to double dip (i love the game, but for me co-op on one console is important) i'd like to know if the extra features are coming to the Wii U. I know that the leak showed that if someone owns both version, then he will be able to get tetra and the red lion, but what about the rest? New DLC with extra characters and maybe a map + levels (i'd love some new levels. there are not enough in the Wii U game...)?

It sounds like Tetra and King of Hyrule aren't the only Wind Waker characters. I'm guessing Toon Link, Toon Zelda, and Toon Ganondorf will be playable with cloned move sets.

If you are talking about the 'play through story mode to unlock new characters' that sounds like a basic description of the game structure, not a hint about brand new characters.

Pretty sure they are talking about this part:
experience new story elements and playable characters from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker game such as Tetra, King of Hyrule and more

I just bought the game for Wii U because of the sale... But I wanted to know if the DLC is worth it? The $20 pack.

I don't really plan to play the game on the 3DS, so I just thought that now that it's on sale is the best time to buy the game.

Yes. Although first complete the campaign and get into adventure mode. And if after that you will still want more, then go ahead and grab it. It's wort every cent. The season pass gives you three equally big adventure maps, new characters, weapons and a new challenge mode. I think some of the new characters are way to overpowered for the first adventure map, and having them can be very... Tempring to use.

Thanks! I'll grab it along the way, then.

Again, the main thing that I'm worried about is just how much content can transfer between the two versions. We know you can unlock the King and Tetra in the Wii U version by linking the two up, but what about anything else? Will any new stages go with them?

Put it this way: for this to be the closest thing that HW will get to an "Xtreme Legends" upgrade, I really hope the majority of it isn't stuck exclusively on the 3DS.
