Y'know, since Tabata said the black haired girl and the dragoon are different people, I bet this is
right before Luna summons Leviathan, which is why she is taking a large trident.

Damnnn nice catch. That very well could be what is going on.

Oh, so that's what Tabata means by the Legendary Weapon. Trident for an aquatic nation makes perfect sense.

Summons are tied into weapons then if that's the case. That could provide some really cool gameplay scenarios.

That trident looks like Leviathan, too.

Pretty boring trailer. Are they sure they want to try and present their story like this?

Look, she's so strong and independent and graceful!

(the fact that this is in realtime is amazing)
Lol

In what situation will a bunch of soldiers all lower their guns just because a completely unarmed girl brushed them off? Scene just comes off as a manufactured "strong female character" moment.

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Will Lunafreya wield the Trident? That's the important question.

They probably have orders to not harm her, she's supposed to be considered somewhat divine or with some connection to the gods going by square's description.

Luna description:
With a mere wave of her hand, Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae brushes aside the imperial soldiers surrounding her. She accepts her trident from her attendant, and sets off to commune with the gods. As the Oracle, she enjoys the adoration of supporters the world over. What sort of monster could point a gun at such a divine creature?

judging from this quite in the facebook post

She accepts her trident from her attendant, and sets off to commune with the gods.

yes it seems the trident is her weapon, so another change from stella , who wielded a fencing sword. to luna, who apparently wields a trident.

They're forcing her to commune with the gods, and she's like "fucking fine" *pushes the gun out of her face*.

Also she's a big deal in their world. They're not really supposed to harm her.

Yawn 2.0.

Whoever in charge of directing these two "trailers" needs to be fired.

Luna looks cool in the keyart, but that's about it.

Character models look great... but those screenshots of the environment isn't really flattering to the game. I hope it looks better in motion.

So do we know if XV has any of dem CGI scenes? I remember Nomura talking back in versus days they were going to do a lot of em.

Actually the opposite. He wanted to do more in game cutscenes, which is what they are still doing. I am sure there still will be CGI scenes though

Also I bet the "monster" in the key art description is her father

Lol. Everything I've seen about this game just makes me so disappointed. It's a disconfigured campaign trying to hype up something with little to no substance. I've never seen a AAA game being marketed in this fashion before. Yuck.

He did? I must be remembering wrong then.

From this interview http://gematsu.com/2013/09/tetsuya-nomura-final-fantasy-xv-ps4-conversations-with-creators

When you say “dynamic scenes,” to what are you referring?

For example, the scene we saw at E3 where a Leviathan is rioting through a town, and the main character comes in fighting and flying around in a current of water. Until now this scene would have been completely pre-rendered into a movie by Visual Works (Suare Enix’s film producing team). But now you’ll actually be able to play through it in real-time.

There are other times he reiterated this though

Oh, I meant in Versus days. Like wayyy before 2013.

Here is one rehosted from Famitsu. http://www.finalfantasy.net/xv/famitsu-chats-nomura-xiii/

Cutscenes in Final Fantasy Versus XIII are said to be “manipulatable”, and this may imply that the camera may be movable during them. When approaching cutscene direction, Mr. Nomura seems to take a page from the FPS genre in which event scenes do not necessarily disturb the flow of gameplay.

It sounds like something I'm reading out of a bad manga.

What about it now?

With a mere wave of her hand, Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae brushes aside the imperial soldiers surrounding her. She accepts her trident from her attendant, and sets off to commune with the gods. As the Oracle, she enjoys the adoration of supporters the world over. What sort of monster could point a gun at such a badass crazy bitch?

I think he means the one where Nomura said there would be 30%:70% ratio between CGI and real time cutscenes.

Later on I believe Tabata said they were doing even more scenes in real time now. Which, considering the apparent volume of content in the game, cutting down on CGI would really help them fit everything on the disc. FFXIII used up 20GB per language for CGI cutscenes. Considering FFXV is an open world game which may have a dual language option, it might be necessary to do most scenes in real time.

Ah yeah. I am trying to find that one but for some reason I am having trouble to find the one with the percentages lol
