My reaction whenever someone posts the old designs of Stella, forgetting that she was redesigned by Nomura in 2013
IMO, I don't think it's so much the design (though it plays a part), but more so of how Luna has been portrayed at this point compared to Stella back then. I remembered when Stella was revealed in the Closed Mega Theater, people were saying she was pretty much the villain. We'd know much later on that she's royalty from a neighboring kingdom that Noct's kingdom had peace negotiations. There was also that whole FNC thing where they both nearly experienced death. She was pretty much teased to be the Anti-Villain.
At this point, all we know about Luna is that she's Noct's wife (in an arranged marriage), and prior to the Dawn trailers, all she did was wait for Noctis.
I mean, everyone knows she's not going to stay like that; neither do we know if Stella would have ended up sitting down for the rest of FFv13 game, but it's not hard to understand why people would not like the changes so far (add to that the wait they had to endure to get to play Nomura's vision of the game, only for Tabata to come in).
I mean I am kinda cautious about Luna but I am open about it, I just don't get why a lot of people are bashing (well, not really) people who found the change disappointing. The speculations and disappointment won't stop unless SE finally decides to reveal more than what they have been feeding us.
Until then, let the cautious remain cautious. They have the right to that.
I hate how Luna's hair looks like some JPOP artist's though.
