Anyone remember that Donkey Kong TV show?

Jesus that show was so bad it was good, loved it as a kid. The song's are still great though.

How did Nintendo end up making it? And why haven't they made a new tv show based on their characters?

Yes, every few months someone starts a thread about this show. I didn't watch the show, but I clicked on some of the links that were posted on here and the show is embarrassingly bad. It's trash.

As a child, my brothers and I would watch it in the morning.

Early CG cartoons like this and Reboot were so awesome to my child self growing up.

A lot of timeless gifs have come from that show.

Never thought it was particularly good in any regard. Nintendo had some entertaining shows over the past decade or two, if not "good", but it was just a little too weird for no good reason (except the hurdles of early 3D animation, I suppose).

The whole series is actually available to watch on youtube if you look for it. I was a huge Nintendo fan as a kid and I still turned it off after a few minutes every week.

Enjoy!

i still have a VHS of this at my father house, if only watched it once, even as a kid.... (while i watched a hundred time my ducktale or ninja turtle vhs)

I love how they only hired DK's voice actor for his singing voice... And then hired only DK's voice actor for his singing voice. So you have a big damn gorilla with a sweet, milky singing voice, but all the other characters just have basic cartoon voices, even when they're trying to sing.

My friends and I also loved to get together and play "Find the animation error" every time we got together and subjected ourselves to this trainwreck. Like, we knew it was awful, but we enjoyed how appalling it was somewhat. So imagine this...

But with a slight grin. I dunno. This show is a classic in the same way that The Room is a classic. It'll forever hold a place in my heart.
