My European family (Irish/English on my side, German on my wife's) give no fucks about it. All rugby and football for them.

It's our second biggest national sport, so yah, kinda. I followed it but didn't have much of a favourite team - I was more into soccer, admittedly.

I just listened to the new bond theme.


Very very weak. They should of gotten Radiohead as it was Rumoured to be them. Sam Smith is alright but I don't think he was a great choice for a Bond Theme.

Should we make a new thread?

exactly, they're just fun because they've pretty much never ever been a threat to anyone and they have some players we like and Luongo is hilarious

It had the Blues defeating the Penguins in the final the year before.

The year before that it was the Penguins beating the Kings.

The year before that the Penguins beat the Blackhawks.

The year before that had the Canucks beating the Bruins. (Ooh, so close!)


So indeed it is not "always" right.

Semin is getting a huge opportunity this year. I hope he's got his act together and realizes what he's being given. I'm guessing he does and has a really good year.

If you've watched some of the preseason games with the Eller-Galchenyuk-Semin line. It's really good, Semin and Galchenyuk have some great chemistry.and Semin is such a upgrade over PA. I hope he gets back in form when he was with Washington. Flash-DD-Dale might be good too

A few new combinations at Leafs practice: van Riemsdyk-Kadri-Winnik. Matthias-Bozak-Lupul. Komarov-Holland-Boyes.

As was the case earlier this week, neither William Nylander nor Connor Brown skating with the NHL group this morning.

Babcock looks to have also shaken up the defensive pairings: Phaneuf-Robidas. Rielly-Polak. Gardiner-Harrington. Hunwick-Marincin.

Would appear that James Reimer will start tomorrow in Detroit with Jonathan Bernier to follow on Saturday.

Mike Babcock says he hopes the Blue Jays go on a long run to keep the heat off the Leafs for a while.
