Omega spoilers, don't click you've been warned

Basically someone hacked the companion app, so now we have the names of all the companions and their accompanying perks. Pity if any were Chrono Trigger style "secret" companions, but there you have it.

Also included is the fact there's 310 locations or somesuch in total, compare that number to FO3 for example, and a partially complete list of what all the magazines do. As well as some unique perks that are quest rewards, same deal as doing Mara's quest in Skyrim or the Tree one from FO3 whose name I've forgotten. Although they're far less broken than Mara's quest in Skyrim.

Most importantly

We get to play as a Deathclaw we get a pet Deathclaw

Fuck yeah

I wish I didn't click that 2nd spoiler, but it was cool none the less.

The interface will be real crap if you have to use keyboard buttons in conversations. And even if you can use the mouse, a vertical text line is much better to click instead of an arrow or single word. I really hope for something like SkyUI (one of the best Skyrim mods) in the first weeks.

I don't think the kit for Fallout 4 is even going to be available until early next year.

That's unfortunate to hear. :(
But that's fine by me, as I'm going to play the game with a gamepad anyway.

Huh? Is that new or was it in FO3 and NV?

Something like this.

It was in FO3, it's just nobody realised it because it wasn't in a tooltip or in menus for some reason

Wut? I cant belive i didnt know that. I have played fo3 3 times, and NV twice. Plus my charachters always have high science, so hacking is something i do all the time.

I haven't been watching any streaming or anything.

Do the arrows on the dialogue choices mean they lead to more options or something?

Wow, that is some really bad vertex color implemented and if the game will have such moments most of the time that will be bothersome. San Andreas (Vice City & III as well) was full of it, but it is a 2004 GAME which now it had became a classic thing of this game, but today we are in 2015/2016.

The kit for Skyrim wasn't available at launch either (as far as I remember, because I wanted to play around with it). Yet mods appeared right away.

SkyUI came out 5 weeks after game launch. Sadly the first mods were all texture mods, probably same here. The first one was, of course, naked female characters.

I can overlook any faults of the game as long as the world is filled with naked, disturbingly young women

I remember that the frist mod for Skyrim was (probably) the one that removes blocky face for character creation.

5 weeks is totally fine ;) I plan to get F4 around christmas. Until then some fixes/essential mods along with plenty user impressions will be out.

Anyone know if you can reedit your characters face or stats after the start?

Do we know if water areas are a bigger part of the game now?

The excitement is kicking in for me now. 5 days, maybe less. Absolutely crazy.

They had a way to do it in Fallout 3, but it was DLC for Skyrim.

There's already a leaked full map on the internet. As apparently people consider it as a spoiler, you'll have to see it by yourself. Quote to reveal.

Apologies if this has already been discussed to death, but a friend just told me that you can go to one end of the map to the other in 10 minutes.

Is this true?

Personally I don't mind a smaller map if it is well designed but damn that sounds too small...

I'm sorry if it's asked again and again, but I love Fallout lore and world, and my only concern is dialogs.

Has it been concerned or denied that you can "trackback" in conversations to ask different questions ? Or talk again to NPCs ? whats the verdict of leakers on conversation system ?

Thanks.

IT isnt small at all in fact it's quite bigger than fallout 3 and around the same size aß Skyrim.

You can run from one end to the other in under 14mins in Skyrim and in the witcher 3 it also only takes around 15mins

It's really bad. Once you answered, all other options are gone and you move to the next question/answer.

Really disappointing step back in the dialogue system.

November 10

Only if you're in Japan or NZ.

It's on the 9th, don't have the exact time in my head right now.

Takes about 12 minutes. Same with Skyrim. Fallout 4 map is 4 times bigger than Fallout 3 map btw.

Anyone who played the game or watched streams who has learned something about S.P.E.C.I.A.L requirements in conversations? Given that the speech skill is gone and not replaced directly by a perk (only relevant perk seems to be Lady Killer/Man Eater, but it is obviously not a general replacement for the speech skill), my assumption has been that S.P.E.C.I.A.L stat checks is the main factor that regulates conversation options.

So how does requirements in conversations actually work?
Is "STR - intimidation", "INT - persuasion" and "CHA - deception" a thing?
Does the game in fact check all S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats in conversations like New Vegas did?
How important is general reputation and faction reputation for conversations?
Does the game check perks, other than Lady Killer/Man Eater? For example, "SCIENCE!"?

I'm really curious about this as well, but mostly because playing 0 Intelligence characters in Fallout games has always been a thing with amusing results. I'm hoping it's made better with voice acting, though.

Do you think we'll ge the same situation as Batman :AK for PC?

Bethesda put all their time into the console version while the PC version is ported by another studio?

Hopefully not. I look forward to picking this up later down the line on PC for its modding capability.

Just watched the vid of the guy running across the map... its huge! Just when you think it's gonna end, he just keeps going. He appears to bypass the main city so that in itself will be a massive explorable area too. Hype!

Like give them some fucking credit. The comparisons to Batman are pretty unwarranted. This is literally Bethesda, who've delivered 4 PC focused AAA games in a row without a major technical hitch, and many people would call them the best single player developer in gaming.

At the end of the day, yes the graphics aren't Witcher 3, yes the dialogue system is some mutant frankenstein that makes the Bioware dialogue wheel look fleshed out. But yes the settlement system is pretty much nerd viagra, yes the sound design looks phenomenal, no the number of cubic centimetres in the world map doesn't particularly matter that much in the scheme of things.

Despite all your various concerns, this is going to be a solid game, enough with the pointless nitpicking. Comparing it to actual literal BATMAN of all things.

What makes you believe that? Which was the last broken PC version Bethesda made?

I would worry more about console versions. Played Skyrim on PC Day 1 and had no problems (except blocky ugly shadows ... which were fixed by a mod in the first week^^). Same goes for Fallout 3 and Oblivion.

Here is the link to that 11 minute video of a person sprinting across the Fallout 4 map. MASSIVE MAP SPOILERS

I didn't look at it myself other than to verify what it was

https://vimeo.com/144626633

That seemed quite fast to traverse on foot and yikes at that invisible wall (which I also hated in the Witcher 3). 2nd disappointment with the game's graphics but I'm hoping for more unique locations and buildings we can enter.

Updated a ton of stuff on my Fallout site tonight. In terms of spoilers I don't have any quest story line stuff up yet. But I do have every image for the quests including name. So if you aren't interested in spoilers, don't check it out. Will be updating a ton more in the coming days.

So if you want to see spoilers check the following links for every quest, every perk, every companion perk, etc. Haven't seen these images anywhere else online. So hopefully someone finds them cool. Oh also the main quests and faction quests are listed in the proper order of completion.

QUEST NAME, IMAGES, ETC SPOILERS

Oh I also made a SPECIAL Calculator that helps you plan your character. It shows the available perks and derived statistics based on your SPECIAL choices. You can also save or share your build with a simple link. More features are planned for the calculator. Also works best on a none mobile device. Mouse over perk names for details.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread it's time to make a spoiler thread? I can go ahead and do that unless someone else wants too.

Interesting, but I'm curious to see how this relates to cities. Presumably most of the tall buildings are enter-able and explorable? Are they one location each or a group? Or am I just plain wrong and only one in ten aren't completely boarded up?

Was Skyrim broken on PC? I have like 250 hours played on that version wasn't broken at all. Can we stop exaggerating please?

Aye, only as buggy at launch as the next open world game. Definitely broken on PS3 though after around 60 hours of play (save game bloat murdered fps).
