If your skin is so thick why do you care if the ass slap is gone?

It's not the the asslap is gone, it's that people are trying to remove harmless things.

It's the potential for escalation if you just sit back and accept it.

Nip the bud while it's small, before it can grow into a tumor.

All of you clowns complaining about Mika from the start are a bunch of no-fun stick-up-your -ass faux white knights. NO ONE IS GETTING HURT HERE, AND ONLY GUYS ARE COMPLAINING. If it's a sexist and misogynist issue, maybe we should let girls chime in.

Until then, stop trying to be a champion and just let fun be fun. Let's just throw burkas on every woman so they aren't objectified.

i almost like when these things happen to see crazy posts like this

People got offended at the slightest thing these days, we live in an age were everyone is being coddled when for the vast majority of humanity's existence shit has been much harsher than "WAHHH SHE'S TOO SEXY I DON'T LIKE IT REMOVE IT"

If you're gonna get offended fine, but if it's something absolutely harmless like a butt slap in a video game, just keep it to yourself and don't try to ruin some harmless fun.

"I like free speech, but I don't like free speech."

Is this playing dumb? Why else do you think the CA animation was specifically altered to remove the more controversial parts? A real good coincidence? It's okay to be fine with the changes for the reason they were made, but those who believe this was a modification made to remove the sexual aspect of the CA are the reasonable ones, not those questioning whether that was its purpose.

If they were removing the sexual aspect, they're probably change the costume or jiggle. They haven't. As such, I have no clue why they changed it. Regardless, they're allowed to, because it's their product.

I mean, either you allow their vision, or you don't. Pick one.

Uh people are absolutely allowed to voice their opinions on buttslaps and anything else. That's the whole point of forums, social media, etc. No one marched on Capcom's headquarters, and no one even knows why these changes were made (or if they'll even stick, since someone is saying the missing buttslap might be some kind of glitch).

I'm still failing to see this whole outrage campaign that so obviously led to these changes. The best people can do is "yeah a few people in the other thread didn't like it." Fight the good fight against PC culture/feminist/SJW boogiemen, I guess.

FUCK I don't want to be on the top of a new page.

Bingo.

Honestly don't see what the big deal is. I don't care about fan service, I just want the game to be good. Them censoring the scene doesn't hinder anyone's enjoyment whether you play as R. Mika or not.

The butt slap was more than just a provocative taunt and insult... It was a glorious "I'm-raring-to-go!" rally cry to fan our burning flame for victory... what are we without this? Are we as a nation, as a people, going to take this? We are all, each and everyone of us, being slapped on the ass right now by the greasy hands of oppression.

MAAAn if those 6 dlc characters are in the data fully complete on launch

DUUUUUUDE

It's all on disc DLC that has MMO gear progression type timers. All 6 characters are there from the start and you need 800 character tokens to unlock each character. But there's a cap of 100 tokens per week that you can earn. Then people have to keep playing every week throughout the entire year to unlock all 6.

Luckily, since the main focus of the beta has been the delivery system for additional characters, we should be in good shape on that part.

Yeah, it's a part of the character which hurts it all the more.

To me because it's a lazy fix. The whole CA was suppose to be over the top. If there's a problem with it's content it should of been replaced completely.

I don't see how something as inconsequential as an as slap makes her any less over the top. Is this all there was to her character's personality?

People are making so many assumptions my god

So because they didn't remove everything problematic about R. Mika, that means the reason the zoom in for the butt slap was removed is something different than its sexual nature?
If they're changing things about R.Mika due to "sexual nature", why didn't they touch anything else? I think that's the point he's trying to make.

1. I don't believe they changed it because of complaints. I don't recall almost any complaints about this in particular.
2. If they did change it because of complaints, people have the right to complain, and they have the right to change it.

My guess is that it is more likely related to ratings, or to the image they felt the game was projecting, rather than complaints about the butt slap.

Having said that, people have the right to complain about this apparent change too, and I'm going to. It is misguided. I have problems with Mika's outfit and the CA itself, but I had no problem with the butt slap. If anything, the slap was necessary to put the rest into proper context. Without it, and especially by seeming to censor it, the tenuous value of the rest of the design is made to seem more, rather than less, exploitative. The slap is effective at expressing personality... the extremity of the revealing outfit, by itself, is not imo. If you "censor" the slap, why have that outfit? And if the slap is vulgar (which I wouldn't have thought before), doesn't the outfit have to be as well?

A well-reasoned response! Thank you.

That's not logical. You're misdirection the argument, for whatever reason. It's their vision if they want to remove the CA's sexual nature but, barring the potential of this being a bug, it's just playing dumb to think that the reason for this very specific change is more convoluted than it is.

A well-reasoned response! Thank you.

But the person even says:

Which you do not agree with.

The ending of the CA was changed too, which to me is more of an issue than the ass slap.

Also who finds Mika sexy? Holy hell she's so over the top and tacky that I can't ever find her character attractive. Chun Li and Cammy have always been way more sexual in my eyes.

Reading comprehension do you have it?

My point still applies, if you worked in a professional setting and slapped your ass in front of co workers while smiling at them they'd be pretty weirded out. Where I work you'd be immediately fired for it. But don't take my word for it, give it a shot at work. Next time you're joking around with a co worker make sure to find an opportunity to get up, smile at them, and slap your ass. I'm sure they'll find it totally normal.....

Now it's the sound of an ass slap and a lame point. Maybe if it was an over the top Hulk Hogan point "YOU!!!!", I'd understand, but it's pathetic now.

Think about the children. Kids might start slapping their own butt before wrestling someone into submission.

Well, in the chance they changed it because people complained on NeoGAF, Capcpom, pls, if you're reading this, fix Gief's boring ass super. Make Chun Li's super less dumb too.

And Mika's win pose is stupid as hell, fix that while you're at it.

Thanks.

That also is a problem. Annoying too.
But this topic isnt about that :/

RIP in Peace Ryu's sweep combos. Never got a chance to try them. :'(

Am I trippin' or was the original uncensored longer?

Maybe the real issue was the running clock/timer scams. That was kind of an issue with the long ass ultras in usf4.

What's wrong with Chun's CA? I think it's my favorite one so far.

Some things are better left to the imagination. Now you have the feel of an ass slap.

She still slaps her butt, so I don't think so. They just brought the camera up so it wouldn't show. You can hear the slap.

What's wrong with Chun's CA? I think it's my favorite one so far.

Her kicking the air and then the bubble thingies hitting the opponent just look terrible to me. I can't feel any impact from that. I'd rather just have her kicking people in the face. I like her super and ultra 1 in SF IV much more.

Nip the bud while it's small, before it can grow into a tumor.

We have no idea why the precious ass-slap was removed, or if it was even intentional in the first place, and you're already crying over these "thin skinned" boogeymen.

90% of the people who cry and whine about "OUTRAGE CULTURE!!!!" are all too often the ones being far more outraged than anyone in the room, and it's getting quite embarrassing. Like, is this really the hill you want to die on.

The sexual nature of the character remains intact. Again, you're making a guess. Could be a glitch. Could be because they decided they didn't like the camera angle. Could be because of performance for all we know. Hell, this doesn't seem particularly sexual.

There's no misdirection, because there's nothing to misdirect. You have no clue why they made the change.

But the person even says:

The person makes a guess and doesn't flip out about it. And note, they talk about the image the game is projecting, which is firmly within the vision of the developers.

wtf are you even going on about?

stop comparing your real life job to a fictional ass universe...

the fuck?

Hello, my name is Yves Guillemot, Vivendi S.A.'s Employee of the Month!
It's a slap and it's a funny joke on both characters. But somehow you want to see different because one of the two is a female. Who is sexist now?

The framing is completely different. That "you were the sexist all along" bullshit never works.
one is in mid battle as a taunt, the other is during a super freeze that halts gameplay
They're much more equal now in terms of "funny" vs "yet another sexualized woman in a videogame."

It's funny in the same manner. You are the one who wants to see them different (also, they're different games). Maybe you should think about it.

Both are pretty funny to me.
One has a more dynamic camera because it's a CA. The other is a mid game taunt.
I'm pretty sure that if Dan had a CA that involved slapping his butt, the camera would probably focus on it as well.
