Keep in mind you can mod the hell out of guns as well. I've got some awesome weapons now from modding them.

You need an armor station. Walk the armor up to the station, get out of the armor, press whatever button it is to craft using that station with your armor in the station and when you highlight a piece of armor, you'll see a prompt on the bottom to repair. It then pops a window showing what it'll take to repair it.

Yes. Just don't buy anything or activate gifts or something silly like that. They don't care about it just for unlocking games a few hours early.

When I want to transfer the damaged piece, it says that damaged parts can't be transferred.

They mean disconnect *after* you're in game. You still need VPN open if you restart your computer, for example.

It seems like it is not shared among the world (like weapons workbench e.g.). So I can "transfer" all my junk into one but when I leave and go to another workbench it isn't there?

You have to get the Local Leader perk and establish supply routes in order for Workbench stashes to be shared. You do that by tapping RB/R1 on a settler in the Workbench view and then select which settlement you want them to connect to.

Things are slavaged automatically if it's in your inventory or the Workbench stash. I always leave my stuff at Sanctuary since I have every other settlement connected to there.
