Not that I take responsibility but I'd say you should be fine for above console specs with that card. Remember Steam offers refunds...
I forgot about that....

Ahhh. Yeah that's some BS.
Bethesda ought to be the name of the next insect discovered in the Amazon.
Thanks, good point. I ran across it in the video folder as well. It's not actually a 3D menu, it's a looped Bink file BTW.
Okay, it runs at medium at 45ish FPS in character creations, my brother will test more for others with 860m's later. He doesn't have a GAF account but yeah
How do you guys see the frame rate? Thanks.

Has anyone got rid of the stuttering without going borderless windowed?
The most simple one is steam's built in fps counter. You can turn it on via steam settings (in-game).

Also the most unobtrusive I think, definitely the way to go imo.
I'm sorta confused why my game is locked to 48 fps. I just set my display to 120hz and it locked to 40. Do I accidentally have some sort of global vsync enabled? The game feels really unresponsive locked as it is.
Will be testing game on:
i7-4720HQ
GTX 980M
16GB RAM
SSD
I'm going to run it at 1080p Ultra, with High Godrays.
Apparent Gsync and in-game Vsync hate each other. Download rtss (it is offered together with msi afterburner) and use it to cap the framerate.I don't want to go through this entire thread. I saw something earlier about needing to limit fps to 60 if you have gsync and a 144hz monitor? Why is that? How do I do that? I am installing now.
What fixes have you tried?Wow, fucking awesome. Keyboard inputs have like a half second lag, mouse inputs have zero lag. Terminals 100% glitch on me, meaning the game is broken. This is fucking bullshit.
i7 2600k, 8GB RAM, 4GB GTX980, ROG PG278Q
Shit is broke and none of the fixes people suggest work.
Goddammit
Okay, so what exactly does borderless windowed mode do for performance compared to just the default full screen?
This is the first game where the default full screen ran like utter shit for me. Felt like major input lag and frame pacing problems, especially when strafing. For kicks, I tried borderless windowed mode and it's very smooth now.
I actually suspect I know the problem on this one. If you have two monitors and move your mouse very quickly, you can see it flash on the desktop briefly before the game pulls it back. I don't think it's dedicated fullscreen at all! I've had a similar problem with the UE4 development kit where you could set either true exclusive fullscreen mode, or some sort of weird shared fullscreen mode. There have been a few examples of this, but yes, bizarre as fuck. Maybe some whacked out process prioritization?
Anybody with a single 980 Ti or Titan X try this one in 4K? How's it run?

I think Fallout 4 isn't using exclusive fullscreen and that's causing problems.
Maybe that's combining with the head bobbing for me. If there's any sort of console or config way to disable it, that'd be amazing. Otherwise I may actually have to refund and wait for a mod or something, if it makes me sick ingame. That's gotta be the messiest 60fps I've ever experienced. It feels like I'm playing a 30fps game where there are 30 unique frames being displayed twice every refresh cycle. I mean, 60 unique frames at 60hz don't (usually) leave motion trails/cause strobing like that when panning the camera. I've disabled the default vsync, enabled it through Nvidia Inspector and set a 60fps with RTSS, but it still feels terrible to play. It's actually making me queasy.
Guys go to my fallout mods thread and turn off mouse acceleration. My goodness the game is butter now
Sure.Might as well throw out the link for posterity.
60-90fps maxed on a 970, i5-3570k @ 4.2GHz. 60fps looks a lot less smooth than it normally does. I'm not sure about this, it's really odd.
Reached the first Raider place, some power plant, and in the immediate area before entering it the frames drop to 20-30ish, although nothing special appears on screen.

Fyi no input on the main menu appears to be a wide spread thing.
It's likely the stuttering. We'll have to wait for a quick fix or the official Stutter Remover that will be on the Nexus.
Since the Nvidia guide is down can someone give me a quick rundown on the best / easiest ini tweaks?
I had that bug when I first booted the game on the PS4.
