This is going to drive me mad. I guess I'll start writing down areas I've cleared.
I know some won't show as cleared because a mission takes place there later.

Unless anyone has more info?

The BOS radiant clear area quest line is the only way to clear a place properly.

Do charisma/speech checks happen more frequently during main story quests? I have been wandering around and I have had around 5 speech checks of which I failed a green colored one (with lvl 10 charisma) and passed a red colored one. :/ I made my build around sniping and charisma and so far its been pretty useless to me.

I'm having some issues processing everything that's going on right now.

How this quest passed QA is beyond me.

No, not really. It's about the same pace throughout although it picks up a little considering you'll get a higher volume of quests.

I don't understand what that means, sorry :p
I haven't done a mission with BoS yet.

Just gaming OCD is driving me crazy when I know I "cleared" some areas but yea I remember Skyrim...

Why do you want to clear everything? I like that spots respawn as it means there's a consistent source of loot and experience. If spots didn't respawn eventually you'd end up with a barren map.

Mild spoiler related to an Easter egg, but really more related to romance

So while out exploring with Piper, a UFO flew overhead and crashed somewhere north of me. As I rushed over there, I came across a settlement I was supposed to investigate on behalf o the minutemen anyway, I accept their quest which pushes Piper to idolize me. She then decides to talk while I'm anxiously wanting to run off and see what the heck that UFO was about and the romance option finally came up. I do it and it it didn't take despite being well into lady killer...friendzoned! I let it slide since I was excited about the UFO but was curious if I'll get another shot at romancing her again. I got my achievement, but dammit I want a happy payoff for my Wanderer. Anyone know if when having max affection with a companion does the romance option appear again or should I let my OCD win and reload the save? Or should I just bro it out with Nick Valentine like I had planned AFTER I was romantically involved with Piper

Thanks!

I have only done 2 quests for the BoS.
You then get side quests from them , one is two clear a area. This quest happens over and over again, sending you to a different location to clear. But it is the only way to clear 80% of locations.

Yea I just remembered they do respawn enemies in 'cleared' areas so it won't matter rofl

Oh well, I've come to terms with it ;)

Thanks dudes!

Thanks a ton, makes sense.

Question for those that achieved the Settlement trophy, did you do it in Sanctuary? There are a few named settlers that I can't send away from there and I'm wondering if their happiness is what is going to hold me back. Like I don't think you can send Codsworth away.

Out of curiosity: Do you have a high INT? Do you have the Idiot Savant perk? How many hours have you played? And, have you beat the story yet?

Just curious how long it took you to get to 60.

I have 5 INT, no idot savant perk, no +xp stuff or anything and I'm level 51 after 80+ish hours of doing every location and all side quests (not much of the main quest).

Well, it looks like my progress today has been a total loss.

Except for some hilarious glitch videos, holy shit.

It's just insane to me how much of a fucked up glitchfest the elevators are, whether it's never being able to leave, clipping through the floor/ceiling, etc.

How do you repair power armor?

"Craft" at a power armor station and you can repair it as well as swap out pieces.

I really can't deal with the npcs in this game. I'm trying to talk to X6-88 to move on with this quest but he insists on shooting at the air. I've cleared out the area twice what the fuck is he shooting at?

the stories here about elevators have me making 3 different saves before entering elevators and then a few quicksaves inside the elevators :S

So I'm trying to get the benevolent leader perk. Doing it at Starlight Drive In and it says 69 happiness and has an up arrow. I'm waiting in the settlement and after every 24 hours, it doesn't go up. Anyone know what's up?

There are loads of bugs with settlements.

This weapon is great. It's the only melee weapon I use.

There are always so many weapons in Bethesda games that make me think "I wish I'd spec'd for that" but that bat might be the ultimate example of that. I almost restarted a 50 hour game when I got it and heard the crack and applause when I sent a radstag into orbit. Nothing on this world gives me such a visceral thrill as a gamer as when Bethesda harnesses the power of their jank into a gameplay feature. It's like they know!

dang. this is amazing. Will use once I'm done, to clean up

Yeah whoever made that absolutely killed it, I pull it up after I've cleared out an area to see if I missed a magazine or a legendary weapon or anything. Been marking things off as I go along too.

edit: holy hell Blue Ninja how'd you get that mess to happen?

Speeking of elevators: did they "forget" to record the voice that says "going down", or do I have a glitch?
It always says going up when I use it, also when I'm going down, it confused the shit out of me a couple times.

Similarly, was it a glitch, or are the raiders at
the wreck of the FMS northern star
supposed to speak swedish (or something like that)? That I could believe was intentional.

huh. Theres actually quite a few new types of faction quests after you finish the game. thats actually pretty cool, good on you Bathesda, surprised you did that. The game feels much more ready for DLC post story end than previous games imo

Yeah, they're supposed to...not sure if there's any kind of explanation (I couldn't find any info on the wreck) but it's in Norwegian for everyone.

For me, the
Silver Shroud
quest was the most engaging "story" content the game has had to offer so far. I don't imagine anything will top it.

Yeah according to the book there is loads that happens after the main quest is done. I haven't even been to Diamond City yet...

Covenant being buggy is kind of a bummer. Was looking forward to using that as a settlement but I don't feel like using console commands to do so.
