Who's on the right?

Hanging out with Jamie Foxx in some spaceship car

Wait, so Jamie Foxx has a periscope based talk-show?

Damn that is cool as hell.

No elbows to the back, no knees to an opponent that has a knee or hands on the ground, no hits to the back of the head. If a grappler goes low on you and has a knee or hand on the ground, a striker is left standing there with no ability to strike back while getting hugged.

There aren't many rules as to what a grappler can and can't do, but there are a shitload of rules about where and when a striker and punch, kick, knee, or elbow.

None of those examples are specifically going to give an advantage to a striker - they are all opportunistic attacks that a grappler is just as likely to use as a striker. Particularly elbows to the back/hits to the back of the head.

The current ruleset is much closer to kickboxing or may thai (both of which forbid many of the things you list) than grappling (for example IBJJ, NAGA or ADCC rulesets) so the idea that the rules have been bent to the grappler's advantage doesn't hold water.

To be clear I don't agree with any of those rules - I'd allow soccer kicks and stomps too.

4430 posts....God Damn.

I'm pretty sure Brock, GSP, Silva, Jones and McGOAT on a card combined wouldn't get a thread as big as this.

This is the peak gentleman.

EA UFC 2 cover vote should start soon. But I still don't see Holly winning it though.
I'd be fine with it if she did, however.

It's only downhill from here, back to the dark ages for us.

Can't wait to watch some BadMMA in some casino in Boise, Idaho, with some cans named Cody and McKenzie.

Floy'd level of trolling showing everyone how to do it. Tells 50 to show image of Ronda getting rocked, then kills her with kindness offering to train her in his own interview, then takes a picture with Holly.

Lawd have mercy, the man's a trolling champion as well. -_-

Don't forget Bieber being "inspired to pick up boxing again". Lol.

"So I walked over there and I said, 'Excuse me.' And he said, 'I've already taken a billion pictures today, Okay!' And I'm like, 'Yeah, but she's the only 16-year-old at the party.' I only got the 'Yeah but' out and he said, 'A billion!' And he walked way and totally snubbed my sister. She looks at me on the verge of tears and she goes, 'I'm no longer a Belieber,'" Rousey said to Cosmopolitan.

Yesterday, the pop sensation apologized for his behavior but dissed "Rowdy" shortly after.

"I guess, supposedly, she asked for a picture with her sister or something, and I guess I said no?" he tells Elvis Duran in an interview airing on "Entertainment Tonight" on Wednesday. "But I don't remember this happening so, Ronda, I'm sorry. Don't kick my ass!"

The 21-year-old says Ronda Rousey's beating has motivated him to get better at boxing.

"I would like to get better at boxing . . . Did you see Ronda Rousey?" — referring to the beating she took at the hands of Holly Holm in Australia earlier this week. "She got knocked out cold! Oh my God, she got knocked out so bad. Yeah no, she got pummeled."

Ronda was salty when he didn't take a picture with her little sister. So he quickly dismissed that and then went on about how she got knocked out.

Floyd has all his boys talking shit and then he's the nice one. Lol.

Amusing seeing him talk smack.. The guy always acts like the biggest badass and runs behind his bodyguard every single time. :p It seems like everyone is piling on at this point.

I think I mentioned this elsewhere but I was really hoping for a loss comic out of this. Dana White being the guy who runs in, the doctor pointing to the patient is Holly Holm and of course it is Rousey on the bed. Someone do this...even though it would be extra late lol

LOL. IDGAF who Floyd takes photos with.
You made a lot of enemies. Holly's been doing the rounds all over the place and people show her so much love. Never seen anything quite like it for a new champ, especially from the UFC. They all seem thrilled that she beat you.

Good luck with the rehab. :(

You don't really believe that's her, right? It's crazy enough that Michael Cera posts here, there's not a chance in hell we have two stars hanging out.

Still don't know why she didn't touch gloves. Hasn't she seen the Karate Kid? Unsportsman-like conduct never turns out well.

been known she likes to get into the mindset of hating her opponet in the ring (not outside ring) so she does things like not touching gloves etc to annoy herself more

Yeah beats me. It really shows her character though. Maybe she'll learn to be more humble now after getting her ass beat.

I don't think it's reflective of her character, but rather the mental game she employs (both to intimidate and to get herself mentally prepared). Immediately prior to the fight, I don't fault someone for not tapping gloves any more than I do for them mean mugging (i.e. intensely staring their opponent down rather than smiling hello). She gave Holly a congratulatory hug after the fight, which was a demonstration of her character during a time of intense physical and emotional pain.

I really hope Ronda comes back strong from this. I adore the beautiful Judo games she brings to the octagon; it's a real treat to watch.

I'm really interested to see Holly's fights from here on, too. She looked so crisp and well-rounded.

But even those guys who mean mug, as you say, will typically touch gloves. Touching gloves is a show of respect toward, not a sign of fondness of, your opponent. It is well understood that not doing it is a deliberate show of disrespect.

As for after the fight, what else could she do? She was destroyed and humbled by Holly. All she could do was sit there and take whatever Holly gave her. Her demeanor was more that a child who knows they have done wrong and is prepared to take a scolding, but fortunately for her Holly was gracious and kind toward her, as Holly has continued to be in interviews since the fight.

Touching gloves is a respectful gesture, albeit an often perfunctory one; however, i don't believe refusing to perform it is any measure of one's character.

I disagree with your assessment of her post-fight; she engaged in an act of sportsmanship by her own volition; her actions were not dictated by Holly.

I do agree that Holly is a very gracious and likeable champion.

Hi Folks

Just thought I'd check in with the opinion that I am glad Ronda Rousey lost, because she is a bitch with a big mouth. Now, I don't watch sports in any capacity, but I loved watching people get excited about Ronda, waiting until I could pop. I was exactly like stretching out a balloon, except instead of being made of plastic, it was made of my own dissatisfaction and need to distract myself from me being unemployed. It's really great to see a lot of support out there related to 'lmao ronda got kicked in the head' and 'multiple gifs about that. My favourite topic, though, is probably think one, and the gif which I'm currently taking framing by frame which I think I'm gonna call 'iruinurfunusadfucks'.

Phew. Can't wait for that next man's fight thing. Whatever it is they do.
