Xenoblade X Eurogamer Preview: Maybe 2015's Most Impressive Open World

Which retailer?

I'm not FullMetal, but I received a email earlier today that Target has already shipped my SE.

Slightly strange that Target's email claims 7-10 days for delivery, but its being sent by UPS and I already have a tracking number for it (and UPS reports that they claimed the SE early Sunday morning). Unless UPS withholds the package to honor the street date, I'd be surprised if the SE arrived any later than Wednesday.

well I think I'm real close to the end of Xenoblade, I'm glad I managed to get back into it before X came out.

I wish they'd gotten Dunban's VA instead of Shulk/Fiora for the main character. That would make my decision so much easier.

don't know how accurate that green line bar thing is but its super close to "ship" or whatever despite it saying it hasent shipped yet, apparently even saying its suppose to ship by the 9th(which I have a problem with) but by how close the actual bar is its like it should be coming any day now. For instance I just ordered 2 wii games yesterday and they're suppose to show up between the 3rd and the 13th, which is understandable but the bar is nowhere near the length, amazon is weird.

I'm thinking about buying the Wii U for this game but with the NX coming, I don't know If I'm buying it now or wait for a port or something later on the NX.
I won't say that i went out and bought a wii-u yesterday just for this game but this game was the deciding factor. Originally i was just gonna wait a few more years maybe wait to see if it's ported or get it on the NX but when i play-, i mean watched my friend play his press copy i was immediately sold on the game and the wii-u.

I would say if anything else interest you, you should go for it. My only worry is getting addicted to these filthy amiibos.

Two of my friend also just bought a WiiU for this game, the first one and eventually Zelda U. Wonder how many systems it's gonna sell for Nintendo.

I guess some people think that all the data is on the disc for some reason?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all the data IS on the disc. The digital file size doesn't exceed a Wii U disc. The problem is that data access speeds via disc are slower than via an internal or external drive, and so it's all about putting certain files that might hinder loading times onto a drive.

I'm expecting positive overall scores, but low 80s and at worst high 70s.

High 90s or I'm canceling my preorder for the game, special edition, Elma Wiimote, and signed Tetsuya Takahashi watercolor portrait.

All this talk about a review that doesn't even go on the review aggregate sites lol. Not that it really matters I guess. Still pretty excited for it.

My first thread got pretty big but everything comes to an end. :'(

At least a mod didn't change the title, junior me, or ban me after I've made like 300 posts in this thread. That's an accomplishment in itself. knock on wood

Best to expect high seventies.

Regardless of reviews people can get a sense of wether this game is for them by reading up and watching the game. The smaller than usual main narrative, mmo combat and fetch quests can definitely be negatives to people. I hope people really look into what the game is before getting it.

It's what I'm happy with so I'm super excited for the game regardless of reviews.

I'd still be gobsmacked by a score in the 70s. Mid 80s minimum imo.

I'm expecting a final average score somewhere between 70-85 tbh. Doesn't really make a difference to me. After watching most of what's been posted in this thread I don't see how this game can disappoint me personally at this point.

so the short stories aren't going to be a part of the english media?

are they good?

For all we know they could put out the short stories the day before release or several weeks later. Whether or not they're good, I'll say Forging BLADE is. 24 Hour Happy People takes a while to get into. I've never seen such a lust for meat...

i don't care about the numbers

i'm salivating to know what others think

i'm going to enjoy the game regardless, but watching people like gamexplain and jim sterling i tend to have fun hearing what they have to say about a game even if sometimes i disagree with them

And the 3 leaks 1 hour before the embargo lifts.

I can reasonably expect it to land in the 80s. I've seen enough footage and followed the Japanese release to not care about review in the long run, this game will be mine.

Nintendo has a weirdly close-to-release embargo this time (for them), but I don't know if it indicates a lack of confidence or they got it gold fairly late and reviewers would need a ton of time.

Bought a Wii U on Black Friday, so it better receive 100s across the board. :p
Also, why did no one tell me splatoon is fun as fuck?

Only have one full blown game as digital so I only had to dump a few old demos to make room. Anything else though and I might actually have to hook up that 500GB external HDD I've had sitting in a drawer for two years.

Why wont amazon do release date delivery? Shouldnt the status change to do that? We preordered the game months ago shit

I'm in no rush, myself but Amazon seems weird like that. I mean when I pre-ordered that big Fire Emblem box they sent me a mail like a day later telling me it was upgraded for release day delivery. Very random.

On the other hand, it got a surprisingly open NDA, which most have been pretty positive on, so it might be a case of they really finished up the localization last minute but in order to show their confidence, allowed reviewers to talk about the game so much, and almost all of it has been pretty positive.

Oh fuck yeah, Primagames has an eGuide for XBX, gotta get it asap. I imagine it'll be incredibly helpful, it looks like the game doesn't waste time explaining stuff too much.

Yup. Also I expect it's gonna be a 80 +- 5 game for me, too, not mindblowing but not bad either.

I'm on vacation and won't be getting home until Saturday night, but I preordered this thing before I left so it will be waiting for me when I arrive.

Review scores be damned, new Xenoblade is coming!

I feel like large grindy games can annoy some reviewers because they're on a deadline and can't set their own pace like ordinary players can. I expect X to get pretty good scores but, in a game that large, I'm sure there's stuff to dislike in there as well.

I'm just curious about this game's reviews because I am by no means on the fence. Even if a site gave it 0 it'll still be mine.
