I'd prefer Final Fantasy 15.
I can still enjoy Final Fantasy titles that I don't like, but I cannot stand MegaTen/Persona games I do not like. At worst (imo) Final Fantasy gives me an average experience and that's fine, but MegaTen/Persona doesn't.

That's interesting cause it relates to their little problem there. Do they still appeal to the real jrpg crowd, and will they succeed in targeting a wider audience with an FFXV on the action side of things. There is really a risk of drowning in the middle of the river there, even if i'm sure the hype around the game will make it a sucess no matter how. But what will be left of a traditional FF audience after that..

My feelings exactly. I'm interested in both of them, and I'll get both, but I'd play Persona 5 over Final Fantasy XV if they came out on the same day. The only thing that can sway me if extra cool stuff is being dangled in front of my nose, like a PC version.

*sighs* FF15, then. I'll get Persona 5 later. It's got a big cult following so I'm not concerned with whether it does well or not--it will. XV will do well too, but usually I factor a company's size and need for a product I enjoy to succeed into my buying decisions. Ultimately, P5 will be fine and it'll be my first time trying out the franchise. FF is the franchise that got me into RPGs in the first place, so there's a bit of loyalty there.

Welp...if GAF is anything to go by, FFXV would be better off steering clear of Persona 5 by a at least a month or so. I had no idea the Persona franchise was this popular...

I would likely pick Persona 5 just because I'm waiting to see more from 15 first. I'll end likely up getting both at some point once they come out.

Persona 5 is more likely to be good, but Final Fantasy is the more appealing franchise to me. I dunno, that's a tricky one.

I will say though that a summer release would be perfect for FFXV. Get it out there during the obligatory drought of releases so that it gets maximum exposure. Releasing the game in fall is just going to hurt its prospects.

You could switch those games with Tomb Raider and Uncharted 4 and I wonder what everyone's response would be. Honestly, Persona 5 is a no-brainer at this stage. Tabata and co still need a lot of work to do. Episode Duscae wasn't that convincing.

I think they're checking the status of where the fuck the Final Fantasy IP even rates anymore with its target audience.

The answer, by the way, is that it's still the biggest non-Pokemon JRPG, but not by nearly as much as it used to be.
