The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (PS3/Vita) launching 12/22 in NA

For those of you who preordered from VGP and had their orders ship already, did your order say 'will ship on 22nd'?

My order from Dec 3rd says "22nd" and hasn't shipped, yet Sondar just ordered yesterday and his shipped already, so that can't be it.

I wrote them an email and asked about it. Orders not being processed chronologically by order date kind of annoys me.

I still have "Delivery date pending" for my order with Amazon.ca. considering the game is out next week and it's still showing this... It doesn't bode well with me. I have the 30% discount on it, so I don't want to cancel my order

Yeah. First receipt said "Ships 2015-12-22", then after a day they sent me an email saying it's been shipped.

Maybe it's been shipped already cause I'm importing? You know, they're trying to get it to me for the release day. Or something.

Nah I'm also importing and so is Saphirax IIRC. Maybe they prioritise by countries/shipping method, as I didn't choose the very slowest, but registered which is a tad faster.

I ordered on September 11 and received the purchase receipt last night; no shipping conformation yet.

And considering the school setting is still holding people back: when I think back on the Cold Steel arc, "school" isn't one of the first ten things to come to mind. So don't worry, it will be awesome.

Guess they're trying to get the game to everyone for the release date, not sooner, not later? Shipping the orders with slower shipping earlier etc.

No idea. I hardly think Finland is very high on any priority list anyway lol

I could only choose International Airmail, the two other shipping choices were $60 and $70 CAD. Hopefully it goes through fine and I don't have to end up waiting a month to get it or something.

Maybe you just got lucky! I won't mind if they ship today, but if it's Fri/Sat thats kind of unfair

I guess it differs by country. I can always choose registered airmail for just $5 more

ULTROS!

People seem to like me because I am polite and I am rarely late. I like to eat ice cream and I really enjoy a nice pair of slacks.
Do Asia releases typically come with some form of english localization or is that pretty rare?

Quite common nowadays. Seems like English translations are a priority for Asian countries even if it doesn't release in Americas. We got Moero Chronicles in English (not released in America), English Saint Seiya (not released in the US), and even English retail games that were only digital in the US like Okami HD, New Little King Story, and FFX-2 for Vita.

i prefer to buy digitally (PS3) over physical version

even though OP mentioned it will be released digitally, but i don't see this game in PSN (at least the trailer)

so can anybody provide valid article/source about this title being released digitally ?

A few years back Sony changed their policy and now all games are required to have a digital release (KH games being an exception). However, unless it's a huge PS4 release, you'll rarely/never see Vita/PS3 games show up on the store before their release date.

What kind of performance hit are we talking? Random hiccups? Town frame rates?

I'm still stuck in the middle and can't decide which version is for me. I like the portability but see myself playing on my tv most of the time.

I'll probably settle and buy both if it has substantial issues on the PlayStation tv.
It's not a big deal and it's a general "issue", it's not affecting this game in particular.
It's something really minor but people that use both regularly noticed that the framerate is slightly better on an actual Vita. I personally never noticed anything (but I also don't use my pstv a lot and I don't keep switching between the two) and no one conducted a digital foundry-like comparison to measure the extent of this supposed gap so take that as you will.

VGP got back to me, they said they simply received a lot of orders for this title and will ship out all orders today and tomorrow

They ignored my question about some later orders already shipping, so I guess pre-ordering early does not give you priority. From this thread it looks like it does the opposite, so I'll take that into consideration in the future.

On one hand it's good that the game got a lot of preorders, on the other it's a little shitty having to wait when you preordered weeks before some people who already had their game shipped :/.

Ugh, Amazon.ca still doesn't have an estimated delivery date for my Lionheart pre-order. And they're not even taking pre-orders for the Vita LE anymore. I have a bad feeling about this... Pre-ordered from somewhere just to be on the safe side. I'll just keep whichever charges me first and cancel the other. -_-

Ordered PS3 LE, shipped yesterday and due tomorrow.

I did have an issue with them once though, when my payment didn't go through, and I had to cancel it and reorder. Since then I've just used paypal and had no problems.

Best Buy is apparently preparing it for shipping. Maybe they will ship it a couple days early and I might actually get it before I leave for Christmas.

Lionheart, grabbed that since they had a price mistake on it.
Even if you missed that GCU makes it $40. It's almost crazy to skip on what's essentially a free upgrade relative to other retailers if you have that, and not a very expensive LE regardless.

Or with GCU, a free upgrade and a discount. $33 for the LE? I wasn't planning on getting it but sure.

Just have the regular edition pre-ordered through Best Buy.. still shows it at just pre-ordered. Hopefully it moves into 'preparing for shipment' status later today or tomorrow.

Ordered the Vita LE two weeks ago

Never doing an early preorder at VGP again

I ordered the Vita LE back when it went up (so... back in September?) and they haven't shipped mine yet, either. I don't really mind since one day more or less doesn't matter much, but having to wait longer despite ordering very early sucks. Out of principle.

The LEs for these are lovely. To the point where I ordered one for PS3 and one for Vita. It's a Falcom LE dammit!

Oh, the normal price is $50, $40 is after GCU (normal is $40 MSRP.) Unless you have some gift credit laying around you're applying to the game, then nevermind!

Did a small experiment with VGP, I ordered another Vita LE 8 hours ago at 10AM today. It just shipped, while my old order from 2 weeks ago is still processing. I'll try to cancel that one now. In the worst case I'll end up with two LEs. It was worth it, for science.

I'm guessing they have ton of pre-orders and I was last in that queue, while orders for in-stock items are processed immediately. Good to know for the future.

My order from at least a month or two ago was shipped recently. Who knows how long it'll take to get to the UK though. No rush though, still haven't started SC yet so I've got time.

EU launch edition exclusive to the NISA store

- 5" x 10" Art book featuring over 100 pages of art from the game
- A 1.5” pin displaying the emblem of the country of Erebonia

Import was the right decision :)

Also they seem to be using XSEED's boxart now, all placeholdes so far have still shown the old JP one.

Shame the fan pack doesn't have the full OST. Wonder what the price will be for both...

I don't regret my import at all.
