Show us your gaming setup: 2016 Edition

I'm kind of surprised at some of those set ups in the op. They look great but the seating arrangements look off. The tvs are too small or too far away from the couch. Do some of you move the couch closer when gaming?

Best thing I ever did was put my gaming setup in my office (from my living room) where my love seat is about 6 feet from the tv.

I don't remember ever participating in these kinds of thread but I'm pretty happy with my current living room / couch gaming setup. So I thought I'd share.

Consoles are placed beside the sofa on the floor, for the moment, and hooked up to the cheapest 1080p projector I could get that fit my needs.
setup_2016_1.jpg

My ghetto projector solution/mount/stand cost me like $20 in parts. Then I spent $40 on matte white paint and slathered the opposing wall.

The wall works great as a screen, it's smooth and even.

Computer isn't that interesting, it's one screen, one desk, standard ATX-chassi, and all the necessary doodads. So no photo there :)

Very nice. I love that armchair and the floor. Your projector solution is pretty cool. If you need more shelving, you could always add more shelves under the projecter onto those already installed rails. That way you have a shelf for your consoles and other stuff to display plus it would hide the wires some more. :)

Keep the posts coming guys, so enjoyable seeing all these setups.

Just wanna say that you guys have some incredible setups. Hopefully it gives me the motivation I need to clean things ups o I can post mine.

I know that some people are seeing the carpet and might be freaking out. I have it set up that static electricity isn't entering the case. Anyways, Corsair case, two blu-ray drives, one is a blu-ray burner. Graphics card is a Radeon 7970 3GB. 16GB of ram, etc...

Back to gaming though.

I need to get borders for my posters. I do plan on painting here in the future. When that future is, I don't know

My gaming collection looks small because I've largely jumped in with digital purchases. I really don't have a rhyme or reason as to what format I get a game with, outside of sales.

My room ain't that great since I still live with my Parents until I can afford to move out, but here! (Phone-Cam is Potato-Cam...will get better pics next year)

Movie-Mode: This is how it looks when i'm watching a film or playing games.

How it looks from my Beanbag:

Drive-Mode: Here is how it looks when i'm playing Eurotruck or Forza (PC needs a longer HDMI cable because it tugs):

View from my Beanbag:

Here's my most recent shot.

For some reason, can't get this to come out right with self timer on my camera.

How it normally looks using standard shooting mode.

Here's one I took using the self timer to answer those people who ask how I reach to put in disks.

The flash isn't syncing with the shutter and it's pissing me off and ruining the photos, if I had a second person this would be easy as pie, but no.

I'll snap a few... Not much has changed really. I can't wait to start work on finishing the basement so I can get a projector setup going again!

I've always enjoyed looking through these threads over the years, so I thought I'd post a quick picture of my setup for the first time.

I've just been swamped in work these last few months and any day off is just one I want to play games and nothing else. I have a week off soon though so I plan on finalizing Gaming Room 2.0 soon-ish and finally making some new pics, it's been too long. (I feel like I've said this a few times now heh).

Ok so what photo site should I be using? Tried both Google Photos & Flickr, not working

Albums are public

Nvm figured it out

It looks like you're linking to a website URL instead of an image file. You'll either have to get the URL to the image itself (I've never used Google photos so I'm not sure how you would go bout doing that) or use another image host that more readily provides the direct link.

Thank you. Yeah, figured it out with Flickr. Must be a way with google too though.

I ordered a new PC and I've got a bit of tidying up to do, but I'll post a photo of my set-up once I'm done. It's not as fancy as most of the ones in this thread but I quite like it nonetheless.

So the way my house works; everything upstairs is basically my wifes/kids space. This is where everyone who visits goes, and looks like a fairly normal house (though since my wife is also a gamer, we do still have game related stuff up there too).

But downstairs...that's my area. It's where I do my gaming and what not. I just got the final touch (the coffee table) for Christmas this year, so the room is pretty much done now. So here it is all up to date.

I somehow got it in my head that tonight would be a good night to move my game room around.

Little did I know that crappy furniture movers (those little pads on TV) weren't up to the task...

My Billy bookshelf is destroyed...

So I actually ended up tidying things up a bit since I'm looking for a new flatmate.

I took the opportunity to take a couple of pictures of my setup. I'm just a student so it's not super fancy.

Living room with the TV and 360, PS3 and Wii-U:
1451287805-img-6163.jpg

1451287805-img-6165-2.jpg

The TV was super cheap (NZ$388) but is surprisingly decent apart from a lack of connectivity (and terrible in built speakers, but who uses those?). It's connected to a SMSL DAC/headphone amp which is itself connected to a SMSL speaker amplifier in order to get some half decent sound. The speakers themselves are from a 15 years old Samsung hifi system which I inherited from my late grandmother. They sound good enough for me but I haven't had the occasion to listen to better so I don't know how good or bad they really are. The couch was super cheap but it's not really comfortable, I might grab a better one at some point but it does its job for now.

All the furniture apart from the couch was made by my mother using scraps found on the side of the road (she does that as a hobby), so I got them for free.

The cables behind the TV are a bit messy despite my best efforts, there are just too many of them:
1451287225-img-6171-2.jpg

HDMI, USB and Ethernet cables running to my bedroom:
1451287237-img-6175-2.jpg

Not particularly elegant but I guess it works. That way I can use my PS4 and PC on the TV. Bonus: I can't hear the PS4's jet engine noise when playing on the TV because it's in another room.

Overview inside the bedroom:
1451287241-img-6201.jpg

The desk is pretty big (180cmx60cm / 5'11"x2'7") so the room is a bit cramped but it's not too bad.

Couple of other shots:
1451287234-img-6191-2.jpg

1451287235-img-6194-2.jpg

The screen's a Dell U2515H, 25" 1440p IPS with good colour accuracy. The speakers are trash but I don't really use them much anyway. I might eventually buy decent ones but it's not a priority.

The desk is a sit stand desk so you can raise or lower it using the control unit:
1451287243-img-6188-2.jpg

1451287254-img-6195-2.jpg

It's also heavy duty (can lift like 150 kg) and doesn't wobble when upright so I'm pretty pleased. I'll probably keep it for a long time.

Cable management under the desk, not too messy:
1451287243-img-6190-2.jpg

PS4 and PC:
1451287243-img-6202-2.jpg

The PC will be replaced once I receive all the new parts. The current one has a Phenom 2 x4 and an HD5850, I got it from my brother after he won a $3,000 PC. It's getting pretty old and it' always been pretty noisy even after being cleaned completely. The antec twelve hundred case ain't that great - not that easy to assemble and clean and it's definitely not a quiet case.

Finally, view of the Sky Tower from the balcony:

Should be an interesting year for me. I don't know if any real changes to the setups will be done, but I am going to be making some new shelves for the games and such. I may do a mini-build thread.

Dude I love that coffee table! I have seen it on etsy but it's a pretty penny. Love the room.

Gotta cover that electrical panel and need a new couch. Otherwise it gets the job done

Also since all my games are digital i started making my own cases for them so i can display them. Im also very broke and since ink is expensive so i only print the spines haha.

this is it. this is where the meming magic happens. all the first post replies, steamgaf giveaways and shitposts. all right here baby

Uh, I kinda asked this before in the other thread, but, which keyboard is that? It looks really minimalistic and every other keyboard has either a logo somewhere or the design is really tacky
